Know why the tense relationship between China and India? Jealousy. China GDP is 5 times India. They were on equal footing some 60 years ago. China is the manufacturing hub for the world while India is the graveyard for multinational investors. Of course India till today couldn't bite the bullet from that border war decades ago where India was humiliated.

Can one do a SWOT analysis on what China would lose by any deal with India - they came down close to their claimed 1960 line in Ladakh and operate from the Tibetan plateau , whilst we have a supply line through mountains with regular landslides etc - they have worked to bring down the number of crack forces facing our western neighbour but requiring higher strength not only in Ladakh but also all along the border. They have no worthwhile industrial , commercial or military conglomeration within our reach with our equipment whilst from where they are, they can target the plains of the Hindustan with ease. Their PLA I am sure does not care how many they lose in any skirmish, as they can clamp down on any unrest etc without any qualms. By the Sept 2020 joint agreement in Moscow between our MEA and the Chinese ,where no mention is made of any LAC , it appears watered down to "border areas" [ point 2 ] , so what is the present definition of those areas ?? On the economic front too, we cant cut down on imports from China, since a lot of our exports depend on imports from there. We offer data on exports growing, but no one seems to be serious in matching imports to such exports, if only to comprehend our dependency in each critical export sector , on such imports. So any discussion without data seems just talk

I'm curious what India actually thinks is the "Tibet problem". British India had a history in the late 19th century and early 20th century of repeatedly invading Tibet in order to rape, loot, and slaughter the inhabitants. Then they would contact the Chinese government to get a bribe to leave, revealing their true form as pirates. The 1962 Sino-Indian War showed the Indians that they can no longer act this way, so what is the "problem"? I'm guessing that India wants a puppet state run by the Tibetan-government-in-exile, but that is India's dreams, not a problem anyone else needs to deal with.

How often does Indian honour contracts and/or basic principles?
Why is there an exodus of major foreign companies? Because India is honourable?

China needs to open up like the USA.
If USA can allow 1 million immigrants a year to become permanent resident of the USA, there is no reason why China can't do the same.
Already China is suffering a demographic shrinking and the real estate sector is facing stress because of excess houses that nobody is willing to buy.
China needs to allow immigrants to buy those houses.

You forgot a basic fact - America killed most natives and robbed natives lands, and then move people elsewhere to these lands. China is native Chinese land and they have 1.4 billion people already, they don’t need anyone move into their lands.

The US has a bigger area than China. China's population is 1.425 billion, and the US only 370 million. So, China is overpopulated. It doesn't need immigrants, but foreign visitors are welcome. They now have a 144 hour visa free visitation rule. Everyone is welcome. Why don't you go and visit and see how very advanced, clean and tidy China is now?

@@taidelek9994 China don’t care whether you are a double headed snake or not. Do you think US really care so much about India. They are just making use of you as a counter weight to China. Any wars between the two giants are self-destruct and US are most happy to see two countries with huge population vanishes.

Just as China will not deal with the elephant in the room viz. the border dispute; StratNewsGlobal too will not deal with the other elephant in the room viz. the whereabouts of Xi Jinping. And that makes, what otherwise would have been a very insightful discussion, entirely moot!
The other elephant in the room could well explain the complete absence of forward movement on the border dispute, the Chinese Ambassador's chiildish statements, the continued lack of acquiescence by the Chinese of India's achievements and positions etc. And there wouldn't be a better expert than the ex Foreign Secretary to help frame this matter for us in the backdrop of what appears to be a gathering political storm inside China. On this very channel, numerous guests have repeatedly emphasized the centrally controlled nature of the behaviour of Chinese interlocutors. And if that central authority in China is under cloud, how does it make sense to ignore the one significant facet and draw interpretations about the chinese behaviour in every other way?
If the ex-Foreign Secretary is not an appropriate individual to elicit response on a reasonably credible matter, rendered speculative only by refusal of coverage by Mainstream media; will StratNewsGlobal invite someone like Jayadeva Ranade to air his views?
