Woke up to a cold house this morning & after searching for over an hour & trouble shooting other things I came across this video which was my exact problem. You saved me 100s on repair for something so simple. You are awesome...thank you!
Yes! Checking in from the Great Texas Blizzard of February 2021. After hours of troubleshooting, found this video. Took a straighten paper-clip down the connection fitting and felt a little blockage right away. A couple of pushes later it was unblocked and now everything works perfectly. Thank you thank you thank you.
Oh my god. My dude. You saved my family from another cold winter. We didn’t have heat last year because we couldn’t afford to pay HVAC to come fix our heater. We live in San Diego county, so it’s tolerable with a few space heaters, but after finding your video I fixed the problem with duct tape. My hose had a tear. I will pick up a new one next time I’m out. Thank you, SO much!
You just saved me a whole of time, money and headaches...I checked everything...I by passed it and nothing, checked all my other components..I even replaced the board.....I did what u did and sure enough I heard a click and then the flames.....thank u so much!!!!! Just in time for this cold weather in Texas...
I replaced the pressure switch and was still getting the 3 flash code. Found this video and cleared the induction valve where the rubber tube goes and it fixed the problem! My furnace is working and heating up the house again! Thanks a million. If you're ever in Delaware hit me up, I owe you a few beers lol
Coming to you in 2023 from another happy homeowner! This was exactly the fix I needed and now the house is getting toasty warm again! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks... AGAIN!!! I had this same issue Christmas Day and ordered a new switch which took a week to arrive. After putting it in the issue remained. PISSED, I began a new search and found this clip and resolved my issue with a twist tie. The problem showed itself again a few days ago and Inspected my system today 1/21/21 and tested the switch & the hose but did not check the induction motor connection UNTIL I across this clip,. again. Oddly enough, the same twist tie was on my desk and in a few minutes the issues again resolved. Clearly something is loose inside the induction motor that clogs that line. I wonder how much money has been paid to have someone complete a simple fix.. THANKS VERY MUCH!!
Worked like a charm...in my case, the tube had collected enough condensate to prevent air from moving through. I simply disconnected the hose, drained the small (but enough) amount of water, and we're back in business. Thank you so much!
Today the outside temperature is 20 degrees F and I came home to a freezing house. I watched your video and then checked my furnace and see the red light flashed 3 times. I cleaned the port hole on the pressure switch and the port hole on the motor and put the hose back on. The heat came back on afterward. If I called heating services the cost would have been $300+ easily and the mechanic would take less than a minute to fix it. Thank you.
Thank you! I didn't think the issue would as easy as you made it look, or even be the exact issue. I appreciare your help and expertise, also your willingness to share the fix. I will be keeping a pipe cleaner in the furnace room now!
This was my problem too. My fan port was blocked with some real heavy corrosion, and I had to remove the fan+housing and hammer a 1.5mm allen tool through the port to remove the blockage. I put it back together and it's working like a dream. Thank you for this video!
Exactly what the problem was with mine. Had to take the motor off and use a 1/16 drill bit to drill it out it was so clogged. Thanks man! Furnace working like a champ again
My friend!!! Thank you you have helped me!! I bought a new igniter but my furnace still didn't work but you! Thanks to your video I found that blocked hole , cleaned it and it works!! You saved me couple hundred dollars! And this is on the York furnace , different but works in similar way.Blessings to you.
You are a life saver, this is exactly what happen, just a quick tip when you guys do push a metal wire through the orifice remember to push it hard and you will find that it goes through a little further, just in the cases where debris is piled up.
Sir, you are AWESOME! Thanks for sharing this video, for the last two years I have been having this issue. Some company wanted to charge me $400 to change the board, today, before seeing this video. I went upstairs to check and noticed the 3 lights and Google it, I took the hose out and blew into it to get rid of any dirt/dust and also bang the pressure switch lightly and my heater started to work. After looking at your video, I will use a small wire to unclog that nozzle where the hose goes into.
11 degrees outside. Downstairs unit running more than normal and not really keeping up. Cold breeze flowing down from upstairs. Upstairs furnace won’t light. Watched your video and used a 1 cent twist tie to unclog the tube. You saved me time and a lot of money. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and sharing it with others! Very much appreciated!!
Bro! You saved me lots of money. The blower connection to the tube was clogged up and just used a paper clip to unclogged it and voila furnace working again. I love you all on RUclips for helping us with repairs. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much. I checked the hose, but the wire/paper clip in the induction nozzle ...”Eureeka” ...that did the trick. Save me mucho money and mad the wife very happy to have heat again. Thanks again!!!
Amer, you are a Rockstar. I have a Coleman and I had the same blocked valve that I used with a mini screwdriver to clear out. You saved me another night of freezing slumber!
Great video - smart troubleshooting! I was getting the 3 blinking lights too, but that was a correct system response in my case. My problem was low pressure because the exhaust flue hosing was not attached firmly to the fan housing. I set it firm and flush. No more blinky lights. I'm warm and comfy now.
Thank you so so much. I was pulling my hair out looking for how to fix this. You were by far the best at explaining this and solved the problem! Much thanks to you. I thought this was an easy fix and it was.
Wow, thank you so much. It worked and saved myself a lot of money. Was worried since it's 5 degrees Fahrenheit in Chicago right now and was freezing didn't know what was wrong with this Goodman furnace. You're amazing!!!!
Thank you so much...I just called out of work because no other videos were helping me, but when I got to yours I couldn't even find so much as a Bobby pin to clean the little hole. Luckily it's a bit after Christmas and there was some type of twisted tie under my bed and it did the trick...I yelled so loud when the heat kicked in again. About to get ready and go on in to work...thank you so much again
Thank you sir, you saved me hours of troubleshooting. My air way was not blocked but I believe the switch itself had grit in it or something. I ended up rapidly putting positive and negative air pressure in the tube while attached to the pressure switch to actuate the little flapper switch inside the housing. when I heard the clicking I reattached the tube to the fan and a warm house I got.
WOW THANK YOUUUUU even 4 years later you just helped me out! it's 1:30 am in the morning and was digging in my furnace trying to figure out the issue and ran into your video. you literally had the exact 3 flash error i had and the exact furnace i have. i hope karma keeps building up for you! you have my thanks! my family can now warm back up from this 25F degree weather!
Absolutely fantastic video!!! I was scared to death and didn’t know what was going on, and I watched your video, did exactly as you, and voila!!! It’s fixed and the green light is back to normal. And I’m toasty again! I have a Comfortmaker furnace :) I liked and subbed!
So I've watched a few videos and this one explained my problem exactly how it was happening. I did exactly what you did and it worked!!! The last I had this issue the repairman charged $300 to do this. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Oh my gosh thank you sooooooo much!!!!! Because of Covid-19 I had to try and fix my own furnace and your video was exactly what I needed. Thank you from the bottom of my (warm) heart!!!!!
Sure enough it was the port on the draft induction fan that was clogged on mine too. I thought for sure it was a bad flame senor. Thanks, you saved me a very expensive repair bill.
Had AC fixed ober the summer. Its getting close to winter and it wouldn't heat. That guy didn't fix the black tube. Thanks so much. Hooked it up and have hot air again
I give credit when credit is due and I would just like to thank you for the simple solution to a problem that would have probably taken me forever to diagnose. Great job and thanks again!
Thank you for this!! We're coming into a cold snap here in Indiana, We have an older style Goodman and it was acting weird, 3 blink code, cleaned the ports out, checked the hose, turned on and we have a warm house again. Ordered a new draft inducer and pressure switch just to be double safe, but it should get us through until the new parts show up. Thanks for this!!
Thank you, Thank you. You were a life saver here. We place a cover on our air intake due to a prior bee problem. We completely forgot to remove it.... this video reminded us. Otherwise we would have been paying a respnse fee from our local heating company.
You completely and utterly rock for making this vid. My son called me about his heater and he had this exact problem. We did what you said and it fired right up. Thank you, very much, sir, for making this. 🙂🙂👍👍
Like everyone has been saying Thank You!!! We've been without heat for five days waiting for this part to come in.The part came in didn't work. Watch your video and five minutes later we got heat.
Damn man, its 1:56 AM here and our furnace stopped working. Your video was exactly the problem. I can not even begin to thank you enough for this video. You saves us big time.
it works. your videos is really very helpful. thanks a million for the tutorial. really appreciate it. I just remove the rubber that connects to the pressure switch. blow into it and reconnect it and viola it is now working.
This was my problem too. And I needed a new pressure switch. In order to not freeze while waiting on the new one. I had to keep going in there and giving it a shake and tap. Also repositioning it helped too. So don't get stuck frozen overnight. Fool with it until it works. And when the new one arrives. Pop it in
Good video! Just want to add a couple of things. The pressure switch actually works on negative pressure. The inducer blower creates slight vacum that triggers the switch . Do not blow or suck on the tube if one end is attached to the pressure switch. That can damage the membrane inside the switch.
Thanks. I think it works on positive pressure since the tubing off take is from the periphery of the blower where it is discharging air hence positive pressure. Had the tubing off take been on the eye of the impeller, it would have been negative pressure.
@@akhaqan All the ones that I have come across that are attached to inducer assembly were suction type (negative pressure)... dont know if there are some that work with positive pressure Also check the following out: www.thespruce.com/how-to-test-furnace-pressure-switch-1824742
This is so awesome. Thank you thank you thank you. My furnace is on and off intermittently. Just by plugging the metal wire inside the nozzle the problem was fixed.
It works for my Goodman Furnace MGP100-3. Saved at least a hundred bucks plus other hassles. BTW, the initial blink was 1, as the ignitor came and go but no flame to follow. Later, even the ignitor wouldn't come. I measured the ignitor, it seemed OK. Then it blinked 3 times. Looks like the blinker may not be accurate all the time.
Who else is yelling at the screen?... "Noooo, stuck open, OPEN!!!" Thank you, excellent advice!
ME!! LMAO!!
Uhhhg seriously! Haha. I was triple checking what he said too. 🤣
Yes!!! And inducer motor 😆
Well, the switch was stuck open because the port was blocked (closed). Easy enough to mix it up while narrating.
Thank God I'm not the only one, 2 flashes open, 3= closed... Pay attention to details! Either way about to try this lol
This man is still saving lives 5 years later.
Glad to be of assistance
