  • Furnace was not working and when checked the light blinking code, it showed it was the pressure switch but I didn’t have to replace it just had to clean it and disconnect and reconnect the connectors to reset it and it lighted up again. 💪🏽

    I had a problem with my furnace with the board blinking 3 times (YORK Brand). I watched your video and followed the simple steps. Furnace working fine now. Other videos suggested removing the exhaust motor to clear tubes. I'm so glad I found your video. If anyone has this problem, follow these steps first and it may fix the problem quickly. Thank Again

    Had an error code on my furnace today, and its -40C up here in Alberta today. Turns out it was a combo of the low pressure switch and flame sensor.
    This video saved the day. Thank you for posting it.

    You rock, checked all the hoses, then made sure there wasn't any water obstruction and it fixed the pressure closed flashing problem. Thank you! 😊

    We have a Goodman furnace, but a two speed furnace. On a two speed Goodman furnace the furnace will have two pressure switches, a high and low pressure switch. We had a problem with our pressure switch, had the the pressure switches replaced and the furnace worked. If you replace the pressure switches use Goodman OEM switches not universal pressure switches. Also as you found out, the flame sensor could be dirty and it needs to be cleaned as you did or replaced. Lastly what you did with the pressure switch is only a temporary fix. You should buy a new pressure switch and install it asap.

      yes i have a Goodman OEM pressure switch and also a new control board. I just haven’t changed it because it has been working with no problems but thank you for the insight.

    this furnace was doing just as the goodman safety engineers designed the furnace to do. the pressure switch does not need replacing and this circuit board is fine. this is a 5 minute diagnostic issue. had he started with an inline manometer he would have found a lack of pressure to the switch. three issues could have been addressed quickly. one, does it operate without the flue attached. this could interfere with the pressure to the switch. he did clean the vacuum port to the draft motor. and does the draft motor produce sufficient pressure to the switch. we never know what pressure is present nor what pressure is required. cleaning the flame sensor was never indicated, as a flame was never present. it was a good maintenance practice. it was unrelated to the issue at hand. this guy discovered the solution. he did not diagnose the problem. good guesswork. as a licensed and insured HVAC business owner i would hire him instantly. i like his patience. i would train him and provide the proper tools for the job. i grade him with a c+. by the way, most states require a 15 amp 120v kill switch attached to the side of the furnace. he shouldn't have to run to the breaker panel. the 120v switch is for the fire dept in case of emergency. please continue your videos.

      Thank you for your feedback. And your right most of the things i do I learned them by trying and then coming back and addressing my mistakes. Im going to add a kill switch thank you for that info I didn’t know it was required. I am going to make a video soon about the furnace again. I would appreciate if you watch it and give a grade just to see if i have improve because this video is from a year ago. I would add it to this comment when I upload it.

    You fixed it when you cleaned the flame sensor. It wasn't the pressure switch.

    ///can you create a video, how to get the part number and the best websites to order parts for furnaces and how to order equivalent part if we can't find the original part?

      @backontheroaddiy  8 месяцев назад

      @exmuslim1330 Brother I always look parts for my house furnace, air conditioning, washer and all this type of things at repairclinic.com but i always search in ebay and amazon to compare prices. Sometimes repairclinic give me a discount sometimes amazon or ebay have a better price but a lot of times they don’t have the part so i buy it at repairclinic depending on the urgency.

    So basically it s dirty flame sensor causing the problem?

      In my case it is not i just always clean it when i open the furnace for any reason. Here it is my control board that its at its last. First it started signaling for pressure switch stuck open so i did as i showed and clean the pressure switch nipple and it worked so ordered a new one in case it fails again. Then a week later i come from work and the furnace wasn’t turning on and when i check it was signaling for the pressure switch again. I cut the power for couple minutes and then check again and it signal for bad control board and then for something else. When control boards go bad they usually only signal for bad control board but a lot of times they just start signaling malfunctions everywhere. So many times when this happens yo have to disconnect everything from control board and make sure when reconnecting you plug everything back very snug. Sometimes but NOT always it will give you some time to get a new control board. It took mine a week to get it delivered. And from when i post the video to today thank God it has not failed again. It could have been the connectors were getting some corrosion and by unplugging them and plugging them back have a better connection. Now i have a new control board and new pressure switch for future. Hope I made it make a little bit for sense for you.

    You bypassed the pressure switch the wrong way. You were supposed to turn the unit first, wait for the inducer motor to come on then jump the switch.
    But😂to my knowledge you’re pressure switch is faulty.

    • @backontheroaddiy
      @backontheroaddiy  8 месяцев назад +1

      That is what i did I connected the first alligator turned on the furnace and then when the inducer motor turned on I connected the second one to bypass it.

    Sorry but that was the worst trouble shooting I've ever seen. Use a multimeter to determine if the pressure switch is open or closed, if the ignitor glows the pressure switch must be closed, there wasn't flame failure because there was never any flame.

      Thank you Jim. In my case my control board was malfunctioning it gave me different flashing codes from time to time. So I disconnected everything and plugged id back in to see if resets itself because the new control board was going to take a few day to arrive. Thankfully it worked and i have the new control board and a pressure switch at home in case it happens again.
