Thanks for watching!
cant wait to see this thing running next video, you're super underrated thank you for actually explaining things step by step!
I've got this exact same bike and I've done everything to it myself and thought I knew everything about it until now. I didn't know the gear lined up with the cam like that and can spin so I've learned something new 😂 thank you
No problem! These are great bikes, the cam gears are a pretty big issue on them, some people will even weld the sprocket to the cam to prevent gear spin on them
@@ChaseBuiltBikesi brought a 2012 kx250f as a non runner and it had the same issue with the pro circuit cams on the bike where the intake cam slipped and bent the intake valves and the guy said it would be a cheap fix 😦😦
My 2015 crf250 is seized, have no experience in breaking these engines open but I’ve been watching a ton of videos like this lol. Worth a shot got to learn somewhere.
Nailed the unload my guy
Gotta be careful when pulling the cam cap off. The bearing retainer clip/rings are notorious for falling down into the motor. I’ve found them in the bottom end on two different Kawis fishing around with a magnet. 07 and 09
Good spot. I wouldn't of expected that
The gasket maker says it all
good work cuz love the channel
Thank you, much appreciated!
aint got no gas innit
It's all makes Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, all Japanese made bikes have that issue, I bought new cams for my KXF 450 and I tig weld the cam sprocket to the camshaft
Ive heard of people doing that, it’s a real smart thing to do in my opinion for insurance. Its amazing how much it happens
@@ChaseBuiltBikes now in my experience you have to buy three different rebuild kits for those carbs cus they all are not completely full kits , All balls racing , the regular kit you can get online, and there's another I get but it takes all three cus of the mid gaskets aren't in two of the other kits
Wow... can you do anything without first announcing "I'm going to go ahead..." ? Special.
Im possibly looking at an 04 kx250f this weekend that supposedly hasnt run since before winter and isnt getting fuel. Im really nervous that thats not the only problem. Any tips to make sure im not getting scammed? It’s pretty dang clean and hes selling it for $1,400
Edit: i commented this before watching the video, and now that i watched a bit, i think ive got a pretty good deal 😂
If you’ve just got a carb issue, no big deal! But I would double check and make sure the compression is good and go from there. These bikes have some head and cam issues, but make sure to check for cracks or holes in the cases, and that the engine turns over free. Other than that you may have bearings and bushings that need replaced in the suspension and frame, but that’s normal stuff there. Best of luck with the new bike!
Mine's getting stuck on something I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I've been watching videos for weeks trying to get this done it keeps getting jammed up
Your kicker is getting jammed up? Does it move at all?
about how much does and top end rebuild costs?
@@De.aurious it really depends on what your bike needs, let's say it only needs a piston and rings, no cylinder or head work, it'll be about $200 just for the parts. Let's say the cylinder and head need work done to it, it can easily get to the range of $600-$1000 depending on what is all needed
