The jazz music during the rebuild was so refreshing. It seems that everyone these days use trap/rap beats for that sort of thing and it gets old super fast. The jazz was great!
Dude you are a true inspiration. I recently let go of all of my music equipment, I have been a musician for my whole life but due to the toxic community and several other personal reasons I have decided to let it go and switch my channel over to dirtbikes, not for views or subs or anything like that but simply just for the love of dirtbikes and to make content for fun without taking myself so seriously. Keep it up Kincade. Your channel is the absolute best of them all.
Love this type of fix and diagnosis videos a ton, it really helps when I am going through the same process for machines. I’m hoping to pick up a YZ250 and make a trail bike out of it one day!
Bro fuck yes. This is the most satisfying one you've done so far. As an educated mechanic it just tickles my heart seeing a person FINALLY installing bearings how they should be installed. No squeeze or knock on inner circles of the bearing and proper heated and chilled metals. This is so god damn satisfying 😅😅😅😅 thank you!
I have the Lectron Billetron 38 on my TE150 and it rips. I did update it with the latest needle that’s supposed to help with quick throttle opening. Great folks over there and very helpful!
Absolutely loved that trick for plugging the caliper hole to get the other piston out! I always sit and struggle plugging the other hole with a shop rag. Beautiful job getting that transmission back in shape!
Great work putting this all together! I appreciate the attention to detail of the camera position and lighting to ensure good visuals. The narration is spot on and you are not talking to be just talking. Thank you for your content!
You can go to 200 degrees for the same result. Too much heat can alter the physical properties of the aluminum. Personally, I would have cleaned all that RTV off the cases before re-assembly. Excellent video, and great job on the bike.
Im a mmi trained technician and the service manuel is your friend. I'd say half of learning how to work on bikes comes from using tje service manuel. Where a trained tech comes in is learning how to measure everything using dial bore calipers and micrometers. I don't see alot of people that use them when building motors and it's a very essential tool to use. Something could be a couple thousands off which can cause severe damage. I think you do a good job, but the measuring would be my only complaint especially if you're wanting it to last. I enjoy the builds though.
I really love those grips you took off. The ODI rogues are great. My current go to. I also like the pillow top ones (non-lockon) as well the kevlar half waffle regular grips. Not the prettiest bike, but very sound mechanically. I'm sure it's gonna be a ripper!
***Caution*** if everyone keeps sending us over to Rocky Mountain for everything, your personal motorcycle store will close down. Your small business moto store needs your business to survive. Just keep that in mind.
I mean you make a really good point but the dealer needs to be able to provide competitive parts at competitive prices I’m happy to pay more at the dealer but they never have what I want anyway.
@@mclarenlewis7845 At that point then please do order from Rocky Mountain (or whoever online). And thanks for bringing that up. The main point is, give your local shop a try first.. The motorcycle shops in our cities are a part of our community and provide jobs and taxes for our community. If they don't have the parts or after market goodies, let them know what you need to see if they can help you. A lot of times when I asked my moto store in my city they order it for me and it's been a little cheaper, too. Anyway, thanks for bringing that up because it's a great point.
Love these type videos Kincaid...just picked up a 2019 YZ250X and I am showing all my work and upgrades over on my channel...Did I miss you changing out any suspension fluids or springs ? Or is that for another Video? Anyway keep up the good work. 😁👍
Hey Kincade, great job! Wanted to point out that the yz sounded off when running. Maybe it was just the GoPros mic but if you replay that footage soundly like something is maybe unbalanced in the engine, especially when you started it with the gas off than turned it on and went down the road, sounded weird at idle. Just thought I would point that out, great video!!
Also if you listen to the engine when you did that little power wheelie, something sounds off, I would look into that before something expensive could possibly fail due to something being off
SmartCarbs are an internally vented, sealed design. Keeping the choke open when filling the float bowl from empty helps purge the air out of the floatbowl. It's only required when filling from empty, not whenever you're simply turning the fuel on before a ride. If you don't have the choke open for the air to purge and especially if you just throw the fuel to it it can short circuit up the fuel nozzle and put fuel into the crank without ever filling the float bowl. Reach out when you're ready to get equipped and we'll get you all set up!
Hi buddy my boys ktm sxf 250cc has done 198.4 hours bike still runs like a dream when should I get engine checked I oil change bike every 8 to 10 hours if u can give some advice 🏴🏴👊
Hey Kincade I've got a oversized Clarke gas tank for a 2002 YZ250 that came off of a bike I used to own and it's in great shape. Let me know if you want to see any pictured of it. I also have a Trail Tech kickstand and an ARC front brake lever from that same bike if you're interested, they are also in great shape. I'll check back to this post over the next couple of days so post an email address I can send pictures of the parts to if you're interested and I'll contact you that way. Another great video!!!
Next bike I look at wanting to buy and see silicone squeezing out around engine cases I'm walking, because usually means someone sas in there and has no clue what there doing. Rvt clogs oil passages!
Question for anyone in the comments, have a YZ250 and have a smart carb on it. Have the carb dialed in but still have a lot of smoke coming out of the pipe, I’m running 40:1. Would the rings be the issue?
How do you ride the bike and what oil selection are you using? If it's a woods setup where you're doing singletrack, tight/technical, etc type riding you might consider going up to 50:1. Carb dialed and engine running like a top if you're still seeing spooge it may be that we're simply putting a little too much oil through it.
At the very least you should change the fork and shock oil, as hammered as this bike was the suspension fluids are mud by now, if that has Triple S suspension don't destroy it by riding it with no service.
KP, you mentioned previously that you prefer stuck nuts vs loctite because of the company not supporting dirt bikes? Care to explain more? I don’t want to support loctite if so
