    Good analysis Jarrod. I will be attending the OH Derby at my home track TDown. They are predicting a 94 degree day! I like your top 3 and agree Batten Down has an upset chance TDown is a speed favoring track and BD should have the jump on CF as they enter the stretch . I will only use BD and CF in my P5. I will play an $8 Ice cold TRI of 9-8-4.

      Enjoy your day at the races on Ohio Derby Day. Hope you cash some tickets. Nice to see a quality field this year, and I like your confident wagering strategies. Good luck!

      Throw the #6 in for your Super....there are only 3 horses in this field coming off of a win and Deposition is one of them. Not saying he's gonna win.....but he could balloon up a Tri or Super. My play is 9 / 4,6,8 / 2,4,6,8. Tossing Uncle Heavy....as can't play them all.

    Batten Down coming off lasix for the first time here. I think Batten Down will be out front trying to run rated fractions but i cant trust him as much as i like him. Looks like Copper tax or CF to me.

      With only 6-horses after scratches, it looks like Gould's Gold and Batten Down showing the way early.

    Sorry for another post. I could be wrong, ***BUT why is the #6 horse Deposition bugging me? We ALL should not have anything to worry about him right? He broke decent back in the Withers and stayed on the rail, but in the stretch, he like went lateral and drifted outward....but was coming on strong, and at 71-1 he almost finished 3rd, probably would have hit the board if he stayed straight. I know he's raced a lot this year, but he appears to have decent bloodlines and is coming off his best career race. I don't like the quick turn around.....but he could be a sleeper ready to move forward again off last win. If you like Uncle Heavy with a 90 speed figure and Gould's Gold with a 91, then Depositions with a 90 offers more value.

      Uriah St. Lewis is a longshot trainer so you might be right about a minor award for that one. As you said, he did finish 4th at 71-1 in the Withers so a minor award is possible.

      Keep in mind last race Deposition had his only win and he was on Lasix. Now he comes off lasix here in his next start.

    Given your track record (particularly in the way you often get the contenders yet MISS the bet) it is laughable that anyone would PAY you for this

    I can see Batten Down maybe going off around 4-1. NO way is he gonna hold at 8-1 in this field. **AND agree he's got the #'s to win this if CF fires a clunker.

    • @JarrodHorak
      @JarrodHorak  2 месяца назад

      I agree about the morning line. 8-1 is too high. 4-1 is more realistic.

      @@JarrodHorak*** Off subject, when I lived in South Florida, and went to GP, our one buddy used to call Mike Smith "The Assassin". Because he would assassinate your ticket if you didn't have him - i.e. Giacomo at 50-1. So Mike Smith was just about a must play in any Graded stakes race.

      @@roblegg3983 Retired rider Kieran Fallon also had the nickname "The Assassin" years ago. I remember when Mike Smith used to ride in New York. He has been a top rider for many years. Eventually, his nickname "Big Money Mike" stuck. Nice to still see him out there winning races.
