For B&O or any company to release a commercial like this for an anniversary shows that the company deep down inside beyond all the designs and hype and money, they do have a beating heart. Now, if we could find out how many of the board members actually cried after seeing this, that would tell a big tale. I know the original family members would probably have cried. Those that are still alive and care about B&O still today. It is nice to know that a company is run by real human beings with hearts and not just bean counters.
I was working for B&O in Australia during their 75th anniversary. The campaign then was "A Life Less Ordinary" and included the original Beosound 1. A fabulous time of my life to reminisce about. Great product and excellent training from Stuart Tolliday. I owe Stuart much for the direction my life took.
@@soundsheavenly The initial goal was a short 5 minute video about key moments. My first script (I actually wrote a script for the first time ever) took over 20 minutes to read through! 95 years is not that easy to condense!
You should be proud of your work... as a B&O employee through 20 years you make me proud of my own company with your stunning videos and reviews. I really hope that your work for the company is recocniced by the people at the top. Hope you guys (and the store) are doing well at these times.
Excellent video John! Loved how you explain the little secrets between the old and new, showing how heritage lives in our current portfolio. We are proud! Cheers!
You’ve done it again John 👏👏👏 I myself am working in a B&O showroom and I have to say that watching your videos is my favorite way of catching up with source material💪 This video is going to help me and and eventually the clients so Huge thanks! You Rock! I can’t wait to someday visit the manchester showroom. Here’s to a 💯 years 💐
I was aware of most of these benchmark products and a little touch of history but it was a better experience seeing it all laid out in chronological order. Thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to put together this tribute....great video. You all stay safe 👍👍.....oooooooooops just watched the official video...shouldn't have been slicing onions while watching 😉😉
Ahh, what a beautiful nostalgia trip. I too had lifted some of those beasts, 11.47, I feel your pain 😢. Going back to 1983 - 1991, I became the B&O rep within the TV department of Howels of Cardiff, (a House of Fraiser Store no longer there, sadly: it closed last year). Back in my day, I was sales rep specialising in the Beovision 5502 22" crt, some Beocentres, the models of which I can't remember any more and the B&O VCRs. As you reminisced in your wonderful video here: it was the esthetic styling that captured me most. I loved the use of seriously high-end materials such as brushed aluminium & the iconic wood veneer. And what about that fantastically futuristic design ethic ?? Though I was no longer working with B&O by the 2000s, I felt inwardly slightly sad for B&O for a while as the flat panel plasmas and (horribly ropey LCDs ) hit the the shelves like a plague at that time because, let's be honest, flater thinner design was what B&O was renowned for. All said and done, however, im really glad to see that B&O once again bounced back and started to RE IMAGINE our new generation of home entertainment- with some frankly awesome new designs. All the best my friend and thanks so much for the video, Stu in Wales
I can't believe we have so many iconic design in our house :) We have a Beosystem 2500, the Beolab 8000 and 6000, the Beovision Avant, the Beosound 9000 and the Beovision 7.
Great one John, I owned the Beoplay A1 since 2018 and just recently got the hands onto the Beoplay A2 Active Charcoal Sand (SS17 collection) edition. I must say, B&O never let me down and the products are just marvel in sound and unique in design.
@@BangOlufsenManchester indeed. I remember one of my customers who had previously purchased Beosound 9000 and Beolab 8000 came in for a TV solution for her new beach house. The first think she did was point at Beovision 5 and said I’m not buying that. They were $40,000 AUD. Of course she did buy it and on putting her diners card through for the full amount it was blocked by diners and literally 10 seconds later they were on the phone to get verifying the big ticket purchase. Great service from Diners on that one.
@@BangOlufsenManchester That's great. I'm busy myself writing english subtitles on videos where Jacob Jensen explains his design on early B&O products like the Beomaster 1200, Beomaster 1900 and Beogram 4000 to all you people who can't understand Danish 🙂
@@candy__.__candy well at least it means I'll be able to watch it and understand so your efforts are appreciated. Post a link when you're done and I'll pop it in the description.
I can probably find you 1-2 working B&O Beogram 4000's a month at the local recycling center since I have permission to go through the dropped off items before they are crushed and sent to china. We have calculated over 70% of items recycled are perfectly good working items with the exception of broken screens. I am the lead mechanic and board member for a non profit called repair cafe and maybe this is a good item to sell on ebay to further fund our non profit... Here people only care about new stuff unless they are cultured. Just about every pensioner has a sweet B&O system though..
I have a 2022 Mustang Mach E..it has a 10 speaker 565 watt B&O sound system.. Sounds great. The dash is a sound bar and there is a subwoofer in the rear...Awesome sound..Better than any Bose or Sony I have had in past vehicles
