Years ago I attended a wedding at this church. Completely forgot til your video jarred my memory! It is a beautiful church! Never realized C.S. Lewis was buried here. I enjoy your calm and relaxing voice. Always look forward to your videos!
Graveyard's are affiliated with a church and are typically located on church grounds, Cemeteries are not associated with a church. They tend to be larger than graveyards. it's a great series you're doing in the UK thank you for coming here Chris.
Aldous Huxley also died on that same day with President Kennedy and C.S. Lewis. There is a book "Between Heaven and Hell" by Peter Kreeft which imagines them all meeting for a discussion after passing. He uses it as a vehicle to compare the philosophies of the three men.
What an GLORIOUS Church! WOW! They don’t build churches like that anymore. We bought the Chronicles Of Narnia 15 years ago, on a trip to and from South Dakota, listening to it all the way. What spectacular books and stories. C.S. Lewis sure rests in a very peaceful place, stunning. Thank you for the video! 😊❤️🙏
You post some amazing content! Every video, I leave wanting more! Keep up the great work and thank you for providing entertaining and historically interesting content
Thank you for showing us this beautiful cemetery. Fascinating to know that C S Lewis is buried there, he was a great writer and will always be cherished. Glad to know that they honored him!
It's so touching to see the grave of CS Lewis. His last words also his world. The stain glass window is beautiful and the quite beauty of the church .....you could feel it. Thank you for this lovely presentation.
That was a incredible story thanks so much. I love that guy amazing writings on theology and just a very wise man. I want to meet him in heaven. There are a few more people on my list.
The author Aldous Huxley also died on November 22, 1963. Not a death, but one other thing that happened that fateful day is that Walt Disney decided that some ranch land in Orlando would be the site of his new theme park.
I had to do a book report on him once many years ago in school I thought I would never get done with it there were so many things about his life to write about...that was a long time ago but I will always remember that one inparticular
Hey Chris.... Magdalen college here in the UK is pronounced very differently.... just for info (no criticism, you do great content, and I love it) .. you have to say something like "Mordalin" Don't know why mate!! thanks again
Cool beans! Thank you for this video. I am so familiar with this man and its neat to see both his home church and his grave! And that church is beautiful!!
This was a very beautiful and informative video .Thank you for taking us along to see C.S Lewis's grave and the church where you used to attend.I really enjoyed it .
Kinda binge watching your stuff, as I'm brand new to the channel. You do a fantastic job, commentary is great as well! I do have one critique.Going all the way across the pond to tour medieval England and not include any interaction with locals seems like such a missed opportunity! I noticed, particularly at Oxford, you go out of your way to avoid people! How great would it have been to speak to residents of that medieval village! Family and local history, stories, folklore etc!
That was a beautiful old-fashioned church and graveyard. It was almost magical. That door handle on the church looked so old, I wonder if it is original?!
We went to a funeral there - in fact was that a funeral going on in the background, or some other service? Hope you enjoyed mooching round Oxford - always something to discover even after you've been there decades.
Is it not normal for regular members of a church to always sit in the same spot? Bc every one I’ve attended a couple or more times, I find that to be the case in them all.

Though it’s spelled “Magdelin“, it is pronounced “Maudlin”.
I thought maybe he’d be buried with his wife joy davidman. But he’s not, he’s buried with his brother. Fascinating man, you made a good video.

This was a very beautiful and informative video .Thank you for taking us along to see C.S Lewis's grave and the church where you used to attend.I really enjoyed it .
Lewis’ death had nothing to do with an enlarged prostate, he died from complications of kidney failure.
My favorite book ever!! And absolutely loved the movie from it!!!!!!
