I am a retired minister. I was a minister for 30 years. It is with sorrow that I learned from my daughter that she considers herself an atheist. Her name is Sarah and I ask for prayers for Sarah. I have dealt with pain especially the last 4 years as I suffered from Guillain-Barre I am still partially paralyzed from that disease and am confined to a wheelchair now. I deal with the pain that I have by remembering the awful pain that's my Lord and Savior Jesus suffered on my behalf while hanging on the cross of crucifixion.
I urge you to read "God's Medicine Bottle", by Derek Prince for yourself. It is a very short but sweet book.. There are also videos here on youtube that speak about what is in the book. God still heals today. May God bless you.
@@jennyjessop576 thank you for your suggestion. I will look into the book and I may read it if I can find it. I know that God heals today. When I was the minister at a church we had a healing service every thursday. One man came every Thursday for months and I would pray for him when I was doing my last service there before I moved to another job this man came up to me and told me that when he first started coming to our services he had been diagnosed with cancer and that the doctor said he probably would not live very long. That week when he went to the doctor the doctor told him that the cancer had gone away. He credited God for healing I know that God heals I have other stories such as this one where I have seen the outcome of that healing.
Merciful Father God, I pray for Sarah. I pray that You would replace her heart of stone with a new heart of flesh; soil prepared to receive Your truth. Father draw her unto yourself, remove the blinders from her understanding that the enemy has placed there. Give her eyes to see Your truth. Ears to hear Your truth. A heart prepared to receive Your truth. Give her the desire to seek You with her whole heart. Bring Your truth across her path in many ways. Give her the courage to follow the desire to seek You. And when she finds Jesus, give her the courage to trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross on her behalf, leading her all the way into an eternal right relationship with You. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior. Thank you God. Amen.
To Sheryl.....your beautiful prayer for Sarah is almost word for word what I pray for the prodigals in my family, 2 grown sons & 24yo grandson. Raised in Christian homes, but my concerns of their hearts becoming stone is always with me. Our LORD says do not worry, do not fret, but to trust Him. I do with all of my heart as He helps with my Mother's sad, sometimes broken heart. My hope is in Jesus; sadness in what they are missing & the consequences. And in all, God will get the glory. ✝️🙏😊

Dear Father God, Please show mercy on this retired pastor with Guillain-Barre disease. Cure him as a miracle for the praise of Your Glory. Hunt down Sarah as the Hound of Heaven. Let her realize how she is lost so she can be found. Give a heart of rejoicing to this father when his prodigal returns to the fold. Do the same for my daughter who has decided she’s gay and wants nothing more to do with me.
Acts 2:37-38 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, men and brethren what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them,Repent, and be baptized every one of you jn the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
C. S. Lewis has helped a lot of people over the years. However, it is important to know what he believed. Here is a brief summary. In simple terms, C.S. Lewis was an Anglo-Catholic and though dead, remains a living spokesman for ecumenism - a link to ecclesiastical reunion. The following documented facts regarding his religious beliefs speak for themselves and raise some disturbing questions about his meaning of “Christian.” 1. Lewis believed in a “Christian” purgatory after death. “Death should not deprive people of a second chance…Lewis frankly admitted believing in purgatory. To him it was a place for souls already saved but in need of purifying - purging. Lewis felt that our souls demand purgatory. Who would want to enter heaven foul and dirty? Lewis thought of the dentist’s chair. ‘I hope that when the tooth of life is drawn and I am coming round, a voice will say, ‘Rinse your mouth out with this’ This will be purgatory.’” (Kathryn Lindskoog. C.S. Lewis: Mere Christian, 4th ed. Chicago: Cornerstone Press, 1997, p. 105). 2. Lewis prayed for the dead. “Lewis could never accept the Roman Catholic practice of praying to saints…however, he emphatically believed in praying for the dead. He believed that his prayers could somehow bless them. One must remember that Lewis believed in a temporary purgatory for the blessed dead as a kind of entryway to heaven” (Lindskoog 135 based on Lewis’ Letters to Malcolm, London: Collins p. 15, 107-110). 3. Lewis believed in mystical experiences. “Rational though he was, Lewis thoroughly believed in the mystical experience, a way to go out of this world before death … mystics from all kinds of religions have much the same mystical experience” (Lindskoog, p. 197). 4. Lewis did not believe in the total inerrancy of the Bible. “Although Lewis never doubted the historicity of an account because the account was miraculous, he believed that Jonah’s whale, Noah’s ark, and Job’s boils were probably inspired stories rather than factual history” (Lindskoog, p. 199). 5. Lewis believed that Roman Catholicism is a “Christian” religion. Regarding Mere Christianity, Lewis said: “I tried to guard against this [putting forth his Anglican beliefs] by sending the original script of what is now Book II to four clergymen (Anglican, Methodist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic) and asking for their criticism. The Methodist thought I had not said enough about Faith, and the Roman Catholic thought I had gone rather too far about the comparative unimportance of theories in explanation of the Atonement. Otherwise all five of us were agreed” (C.S. Lewis. Mere Christianity. New Jersey: Fleming Revell, 1982, p. 11). Continuing this thought, Lewis added that he “did at least succeed in presenting an agreed, or common, or central, or ‘mere’ Christianity” and congratulated himself in having helped to bridge the “chasm” between Protestant denominations and Catholicism: “If I have not directly helped the cause of reunion, I have perhaps made it clear why we ought to be reunited” (Mere Christianity, p. 12). “You will not learn from me whether you ought to become an Anglican, a Methodist, a Presbyterian, or a Roman Catholic. This omission is intentional. There is no mystery about my position…the best service I could do was to explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times” (Mere Christianity, p. 6-7). “And, whatever you do, do not start quarrelling with other people because they use a different formula from yours” (Mere Christianity, p. 284-5.) 6. Lewis accepted the Mass as being the same as Christian Communion. “There are three things that spread the Christ life to us: baptism, belief, and that mysterious action which different Christians call by different names - Holy Communion, the Mass, the Lord’s Supper …anyone who professes to teach you Christian doctrine will, in fact, tell you to use all three, and that is enough for our present purpose” (Mere Christianity, p. 108-09). In chapter 19 of his Letters to Malcolm, Lewis suggested that the Roman Catholic conception of the bread and wine becoming the actual body and blood of Christ might be just as valid as the Protestant view of the Lord’s Supper as a memorial. The conclusion? By including a so-called “Christian” purgatory in his beliefs, Lewis immediately destroys the Bible doctrine of the sufficiency of the righteousness of Christ imputed to the sinner’s account in salvation. By including Roman Catholicism under the umbrella of Christianity, and admittedly omitting its doctrines for the sake of unity, Lewis condones the heresies of the Mass, idolatry, Mariolatry, and salvation by works still taught and practised by that institution. These are not “merely” cosmetic differences between denominations as Lewis would have us believe; these make up the great divide between truth and error. According to the Scriptures, salvation by works sends souls to Hell! How can such a life and death truth be casually omitted?
I used to be like you, exacting. Now in my old age I agree with Lewis. Live and let live in Christ. HE finds a way to save. Let Him do His perfect work in each of us.
I'm 72 and have got more "exacting" as I have learned more about Scripture. The Bible doesn't teach "live and let live" and if you don't find issues with Lewis' beliefs as a Christian, I suggest you check your beliefs with the Bible. If you're a Catholic then you won't have issues with his beliefs but if you are a Catholic, then you have bigger issues to deal with as there is no salvation in the Catholic doctrine. That doctrine has sent millions to a Christless eternity. Galatians 1:6-10 comes to mind. 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
bc he knew the reality of Christ does not require a mega rich human mediator, does not require any other document than the Bible, does not require plaster cast iconography or scraps of human corpses in boxes to worship God in spirit and in truth, does not require a plaster Jesus to be eternally nailed to a cross (Jesus is alive!), does demand that we love each other, even our enemies and 'follow Jesus more nearly, love Him more dearly & see Him more clearly, day by day' (Richard of Chichester)

Going to Oxford wasn't that much of a culture shock, as Lewis and his brother had spent years attending various schools in England and therefore were well used to being away from home.
I always see anytime someone it to have a great impact for Christ and His kingdom how Satan attacks the life of that person, often drastically, through death of a loved one, physical illness, accidents or emotional woundedness of some kind that causes him or her to not believe in the Lord. I believe some how the enemy knows what that person’s destiny maybe in God and throws everything at that person to prevent that person from having the destiny God has for them. Such as the case with CS Lewis but God! Some times it takes a while doesn’t it? God never gives up on anyone. His mercies are new every morning. I

A great movie about C.S. Lewis is The Reluctant Convert
Truly a great movie and so riveting because it's artistically clever how the script has C. S. Lewis intermittently stand back and comment on his own life. Look forward to seeing it again!
Key factors in Lewis's conversion:
10:34 Importance of reason
11:11 Evidence for Jesus in the Bible
11:33 Christianity filled his deepest needs and desires
Dear Father God, Please show mercy on this retired pastor with Guillain-Barre disease. Cure him as a miracle for the praise of Your Glory. Hunt down Sarah as the Hound of Heaven. Let her realize how she is lost so she can be found. Give a heart of rejoicing to this father when his prodigal returns to the fold. Do the same for my daughter who has decided she’s gay and wants nothing more to do with me.
Amen ,may God bring Sarah home.
Powerful thank you amen❤
Good job
Acts 2:37-38 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, men and brethren what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them,Repent, and be baptized every one of you jn the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
I love this stuff ❤️🕊️🙏
so amazing. I am so grateful for CS Lewis and those like him who have built a bridge to the Faith in Jesus Christ, the Only way to salvation.
Jesus is the Only way to God! He is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
C. S. Lewis has helped a lot of people over the years. However, it is important to know what he believed. Here is a brief summary.
In simple terms, C.S. Lewis was an Anglo-Catholic and though dead, remains a living spokesman for ecumenism - a link to ecclesiastical reunion. The following documented facts regarding his religious beliefs speak for themselves and raise some disturbing questions about his meaning of “Christian.”
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Thankyou ❤
Excellent podcast!🙏🏼✝️
Can any reader( and believer) tell me why Lewis never became Catholic?. Great introduction to C.S.Lewis’s life.Thank you.
I don't believe he ever wrote about that. I suppose he never became Catholic because he saw no good reason to do so.
bc he knew the reality of Christ does not require a mega rich human mediator, does not require any other document than the Bible, does not require plaster cast iconography or scraps of human corpses in boxes to worship God in spirit and in truth, does not require a plaster Jesus to be eternally nailed to a cross (Jesus is alive!), does demand that we love each other, even our enemies and 'follow Jesus more nearly, love Him more dearly & see Him more clearly, day by day' (Richard of Chichester)
You might want to look for Christopher Derrick's book, "C.S. Lewis and the Church of Rome. "
Derrick was a Catholic friend of Lewis. I found his perspective interesting.
@@sanjivjhangiani3243 Yes,Sanjiv, I knew about a book I’d come across in Veritas(Christian Bookstore here in Dublin,Ireland) but never unfortunately bought it then, Bless you for mentioning Christopher Derrick’s book.I am in fact reading once more some C.S.Lewis, a voice of sanity in our chaotic world.Thank you.
He chose the predominant religion of England: the Church of England, the Anglican Church.
This IS grande, mes amis...especially the ending segment !
Amen to this great work.
Thank you. God bless
So you would understand the love God had in losing his son Jesus on the cross for our sins. That’s the reason for pain and suffering
Pres Kennedy was grandson of Irish immigrants. I qnd my siblings are half Irish. My older brother John died on 49th anniversary of JFKs death. Must be a special day for Irishmen who love Jesus
You're killing me! How? Wow who are you?! 😭
I wish I could get those books for India as well 😢
This video is so profound!
Great man
He is there.

Why didn't you mention anything about Participating in Ordinances and making a covenant thru them with God and Christ Jesus: Of course to perform Ordinances you would have to have the Priesthood (either Aaronic or Melchiziedek) to make the Ordinances binding in Heaven.
C.S Lewis should be made an Anglican saint.
I suppose you couldn't resist the altar call at the end....
Why won/t google tell me which of my posts they find offensive and why?
Is the Kilns a museum now?
So how come he's not recognized as an Irish author?
He is if you so want it - nobody Christian could care less which country he was from as a matter national “pride”
@@matthewstokes1608 Ok.
Cos he was from Northern Ireland which is apart of the UK.
Interestingly Aldous Huxley died the same day as JFK also 🤔
why is the bacground music necessary? so distracting
Thank you for your feedback. We have had similar feedback on a few of our programs and we have taken steps to get the balance better. We do appreciate this feedback as it helps us to improve the quality of our programming. Hopefully you were able to get the blessing from this amazing program.

ashleysilva7414: Well known Protestant apologist and author Walter R. Martin wrote a 443 page book THE KINGDOM OF THE CULTS. He publically invited false cults to his public lectures and Q & A. Catholicism is not mentioned as a false cult in his book. That's because he really knows what the Catholic Church has taught for 2000 years.

The First World War ENDED November 11, 1918 - how then is Germany able to attack in April 1919? The other details about C.S. Lewis’ life might be correct, but starting the video with incorrect dates about the War does NOT impress!
Hi. Looks like you misunderstood. Gary says 1918.
I am agreeing with @kimrsns7363. I replayed the intro a few times and he very clearly states 1919. Sorry, but there definitely is a mistake.
Amen
The phrase ‘the English lines ‘ was used at the beginning of this piece.
Disappointing if not insulting to the Scots, Irish and Welsh soldiers in the line …..should have been re-edited
I believe WW 1 ended November 11 in 1918 not 1919. Perhaps I misunderstood the reference in the introduction which mentions a German attack in 1919.
He says 15th of April nineteen hundred and eighteen
