Like I get fixing the body and bumper etc. and selling "as is", we have that as well, but with this right here someone fabricated a piece specifically to cover a blown airbag and they also covered a bent frame rail. Someone could get killed if they drive this thinking the parts are all still there and sound. With this, the car as an item has been altered to apoint where no reasonable person can asses the condition, which on turn likely isn't roadworthy. Here in Germany this exact thing is called "arglistige Täuschung", a separate crime from fraud ("Betrug"), but a form of deception where any sale of this cannot lead to a valid purchase contract, same as if it were counterfeit items etc.meaning the car literally could not be sold anymore, not by anyone, not to anyone as a vehicle. They could sell it as scrap, but that's it.

Years ago my 89 Grand Marquis was wrecked in a collision. Because I made a deal to keep the car, title was not changed, so it was not branded. I kept the car for the engine and transmission. The frame was ruined.

I travel full time for work. I got a few with dealership stickers, even a few that had window tint.

This is a SALVAGE auction not a wholesale or retail auction where there is recourse in some situations. If you want to put a stop to this unethical but not illegal practice, have a federal law prohibiting any salvage title car from ever being rebuilt by ANYONE. Australia has such a law and even minorly damaged cars are scrap only. It takes near zero skill to look at a " doctored " car and realize that cars don't get crashed and magically spring back into their general shape and drywall screws are factory. With a damaged car sent to a salvage auction, it isn't practical to have the seller list every part that was damaged. Do you expect an insurance co to take a car back if there is hidden damage not listed in a 3,000 point inspection?
I disagree, all these salvage auctions give you the option to go in person before you bid, I was able to acquire 2 of dream cars and rebuild them myself in my garage on my time, I would have never been able to afford them with clean titles, although if anyone was buying these to flip I would not, there’s little to no profit in selling salvage cars
These are auction houses. These are not forensic investigators. These people sell thousands of vehicles and likely don't have the skills or the manpower to microscopically inspect every single vehicle that comes through their doors. Do your own homework.

Buy this thing and get a good roof, two back doors, passenger side quarter panel, maybe a tailgate, back subframe, and back seat and belts, IF the bank seat was not occupied during the collision. Engine and transmission may be good. It is a parts car at best.
I just drove through Maryland a couple weeks ago. My observation of the drivers is I'm not surprised this new vehicle was smashed up. Maryland is at number 4 from the bottom of drivers.

My relative just bought a never wrecked Toyota SUV (June). It had 240k miles but they paid 7000 only to have to put in 4000 more for repairs. Last week the steering became stiff and they need a steering rack and pump, wants another $3000. So soon they are going to have 16,000 in a 5000 $ FJ. My point? You can get snookered/lied to with ANY car.
Clear Title Don’t Mean Anything. When I Bought My Jeep it came with a Clear Title. While the car sat, the Insurance Company applied for a Title which was Bastardized Upon Registration.
Clean title means it was never written off by an insurance company as a total loss due to a wreck, flood, theft, whatever. Having that clean title adds a good 20%+ to the value of a car versus the same car with a branded title.
Not sure if Jeeps drive any better than they did 25 yrs ago, but I didn't like them then and probably wouldn't now. Kinda like Honda cars. Didn't like them back in the early 90's, mid 2000's. These big Jeeps are so expensive. Maybe that's why it didn't go salvage but how do you get a clean title on that? These trucks could sell for over $100,000.

All cars are made that way nowadays, the structure deforms in a crash to absorb energy. You won’t care if your car remains intact in a crash if you don’t survive the crash.

Based on my personal observations, getting behind the wheel of a Jeep vehicle seems to instantly drops one’s driving IQ by at least 50%.

Or better yet just don't buy one at all - these are a really bad value. I can't believe how much they cost even a few years old with a decent amount of miles on them. You could get a better brand new car for the same money. They must be offering massive fleet discounts to sell any of these at all.
