- Russian pianist Lilya Zilberstein plays some rare works of Chopin:
Rondo c-minor, op.1
Variations brillantes, op.12
Sonata no.1, op.4
This amazing performance was given by her in Hamburg, Laeiszhalle.

very nice!!! u inspired me to repeat my old repertoire... the op.12 :))) thank you!
@pianofanful It is certainly wonderful to have this online - but a couple of other pianists have recorded the complete Chopin, which includes this repertoire. But, this is certainly charming playing.
bravo very very good sonata
EXTRAORDINARY....FANTASTIC SHE ONLY COULD BE A RUSSIAN. THEY ARE MAYBE THE BEST TECHNIQUE IN THE WORLD. FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS THEY GIVE ALL SUPPORT TO THE ARTISTS AND ATHLETS TO BECOME THE BESTS. SHE IS MARVELOUS DURING THE WHOLE WORK. SPECIALLY THE SONATA. GREAT SHOW.
Beautful performance.
her rachmaninovs versions are absolutely brilliant
braviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Lilya Zilberstein ~
Hm, I love the program idea, but there's a reason why these pieces are obscure (although the Rondo is pretty awesome for a 15 year old...). Great playing!!!
she's my aunt *-*
@pianofanful And I know (now) who you are!
I rated Valentina Lisitsa as the most masterful performer until I listened to Lilya Zilberstein here. She's her equal.
Chopin's first piano sonata is AN incredibile masterwork like the other two sonatas.
Life Performances without Sound Baffles in wooden Halls can be great for the Audience but a Killer for the so so Microphone of the Video Camera...sorry!
hmm are u sure? check idil biret!
It is a pity that the sound is not very good.
over 'Russian', t'is the Poles who understand the rhythm of the 'Rondo' and that Chopin is n o t sentimental ( after 2:00....)
the Sonata is one of FC's weakest efforts for early Chopin the Mazurkas Opus 6 and opus 7 much greater than the offerings here. The Rondo in the form of a Mazurka
