Would love a video on the best 18" dishwashers.
good idea....
Does the door auto open once the cycle is done?
After 20 years with Kenmore/Whirlpool dw, a part finally broke and we were forced to replace as the part was no longer available. I tried everything I could to find the part with no luck. We chose the LG LDPH7972S. Yes it cleans great. Yes it's quiet. BUT, the racks are ridiculous. All of our glasses fall over as the tines on the middle rack are not tall enough. The lower rack has a rather large open gap in the center. Why? We now run our dishwasher 2x week, as opposed to 1x week, as it only holds half of the dishes our old dw did. There is only 2 of us. There is no proper place for our wine glasses. I truly dislike the racks in this dw. Wish I would have taken some of our dishes to the store before we purchased.
I bought a lg dishwasher it broke after 7 months got it fixed and it worked for another month
I bought mine in 2011 we run it multiple times a day and in 2024 it developed a crack in a plastic part that I could replace for 34$ but I am curious about the new models
You forgot about the SAMSUNG DW80R9950, it's 39 decibels.
That I did...good catch
Con
Racks rust out in 2-3 years. I service these daily for this reason along with loud wash motors, though that part is under a 10 year part warranty.
So do we.....Not finding that issue. Any particular model or year?
@@YaleAppliance1 I think it’s the partly due to the extremely hard water in my area, that doesn’t help things.
I had a Bosch almost twenty years ago that I bought new and the racks rusted out in less than five years and Bosch as usual was less than warm about customer service and satisfaction. I’ve encountered the same with them over a vacuum cleaner and also about their notoriously arching spark plugs (ask any mechanic) so since then I’ve had Miele and old reliable Kitchenaids in my homes.
How does this model differ from the LDPS6762S?
I have been trying to figure this out. From what I can tell, this one has heated drying and lights up inside. That's all I could find so far.
How would you compare this LG to the Bosch 800 series? You only mention the 500 in the video...Which one is the actual better dishwasher for washing and drying?
800 series is $200-400 more. CrystalDry is the best for drying your dishes from any manufacturer.
@@YaleAppliance1 So you'd say the Bosch 800 is a better overall machine than this LG? Reason I'm asking is I just bought a Bosch 800 (SHPM78Z54N), brand new, for $860 (it was an open box deal, never used, with 0 cosmetic damage, still all the stickers and labels on). Meanwhile I could currently get that LG on sale for around $950, new in box. The Bosch's basically never go on sale. But still...just curious if I made the right choice.
Does the callout count take into account which brands sold the most? For example if 80$ of people have a bosch then bosch will have more call outs than lg. The callout percentages you give only work if there are an equal number of each brand in peoples homes.
Its based on percentages.....More sales also means lower percentages with problems as well
@YaleAppliance1 yes true but it would be difficult to gauge their true reliability without coralating it with the sales figures. It would be safe to assume the top the in your data are a safe bet.
The ONLY things I'll buy from LG are TVs and Washer/Dryers. For other kitchen appliances, I'm going Whirlpool, except for the dishwasher, which is Bosch.
gross whirlpool haha okay
I’d go with LG for both laundry and dishwashers, GE for ranges be they gas, electric or induction and Whirlpool for refrigeration. I think those are trouble free bets
I would look at the new Whirlpool appliances. The fridges are atrocious with their shitty icemaker design taking up so much space. I'd go Kitchenaid over Whirlpool.
Bosch Bosch Bosch - best dishwasher I’ve ever had!
More than just LG offers steam cleaning during prewash.
I see people complaining about rust in their LG dishwashers, on home depot and what not, after just a month of use. Why do you think this is?
Havent seen that...maybe hard water?
Wouldn’t take anything from LG if you gave it to me. I had been a loyal LG customer. Love the washer and dryers.
Now… not at all my LG stove developed a unfixed short after 2 years. Stop trying to get my money back after canceling a refrigerator. After 3 failed delivery attempts. Then finding out that theirs refrigerators have a compressor issue!
Is that the retailer or LG? or both?
@@YaleAppliance1
It’s LG. If you can give me any information in regards to getting my money back for the refrigerator i would greatly appreciate it.
I have a chronic back problem that has affected my ability to continuously contact them. I’ve been trying for a year! Just getting th run around from them.
I hear your pain. I had an LG dishwasher about 4 years ago that worked great when it worked. The problem was that every two weeks it stopped working with an E1 error. Several techs tried to fix it but in the end LG took it back. Maybe I had a lemon but I would never buy an LG dishwasher.
**Looks at manufacturer** Nope!
I get it. You are correct as well about the whole industry, not just LG
LG like other brands have divorced themselves from service and support. They all pay the price in resentment and negativity towards the brand. Thats why we started service 35 years ago. I didn't want to talk to pissed off customers anymore. But its expensive.
Those of us who’ve learned the lessons of dealing with chains with their meaningless extended warranties and cop out installations appreciate dealing with qualified independent dealers like you who’ve been established for decades and have reputable service and installation departments in-house.
I’m not sure about dishwasher but i know lg tops the laundry and cooking business
