Being Russian, I'm sceptical multiple times about the USA about many things, but this man and people like him are indeed a national treasure and I'm sure that if the US had more people like you, Sir, we would be friends. I've been to the States, I was there a long time ago, I spent 4 months in Arkansas and I have to say that contrary to what I hear about Southern states from time to time, it's a nice place (we also went on trips to Louisiana and Tennessee) with nice culture and people. Hope to go there again some time later. Hello from Moscow, Russia.
I feel the same thing about Russians I have absolutely nothing against them because they've always been cool with me and we do have Russian communities here in this part of our country. I always wanted to visit Russia I want to go to St Petersburg and to the Royal House where the Czars once lived. Much love to you and your family from America.
Several years ago now I had the pleasure of becoming good friends with a former adversary from the former Soviet Union. Had a war between NATO and the USSR happened it would have been his job in the Russian Airborne to find my unit and take it out, and vice versa. But instead we became great friends and had much respect for one another. Politics and politicians should be outlawed for the good of the human race. How many conflicts could be easily settled with vodka and fried catfish instead of bullets and bombs?
This is the second of two comments. I just finished eating the BEST catfish I’ve ever cooked and had. My wife wouldn’t stop eating it as she said, I’m so full but I’m not stopping until it’s all gone. She kept saying, “this is the best fish you’ve ever cooked. I followed his recipe and tips to the letter! Mmm, Mmm, so good! We both did the catfish swimming Happy Dance! I shared this video on my Facebook page.
That fish jumping out of your hand gave me the best laugh I've had all week! You and Shannon are the best! Thank you both very much for the great time we all have with your videos!
During my horse training career, I've cowboyed off and on. Do you folks understand you are looking at the real deal, Kent Rollins? You can't fake the kind of ranch knowledge he has. Thanks Kent for sharing.
I just tried your recipe along with your hush puppy recipe. The family was impressed. My son said "now, this is what I think of when I think of a fish fry". Thank you Mr. Rollins. God Bless!!!
I'm a manager at one of the seafood counters you were discussing. The fillets you are cooking look like swai. Swai from Vietnam and catfish ftom USA are what we sell. My wife and I love to deep fry both in our large deep fryer. We love them both.
Kent, I can’t tell you how very much I appreciate your videos and recipes, plus the cooking tips you give. You have definitely made me a better cook. By the time you read this I’ll be in the kitchen frying catfish for our dinner. As a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, I thank you for every salute you give to our military, active and retired. You are an inspiration to us all.
I love your personality & humble spirit. You remind me very much of the cool & down to Earth type of people found here in Texas. I smiled the entire video. Keep being amazing!
I made this as written with fresh caught catfish. We used the season salt because we didn't have the other spice. I think next time I will play around with a different spice blend (old bay?) BUT OH MY GOOOOOOODNESS the crunch was amazing. Our guests were thrilled and it was the first time I made fried cat to perfection! Thanks, Kent! I'm going out tonight to get some more!
Everytime I start watching Kent Rollins videos I can't stop. Kent is an American treasure I'm so happy I found this amazing channel. I almost forgot to thank Shannon the backbone of this incredible show Thanks Shannon you're amazing.
With the corona virus going around, I’ve been sticking around home, keeping the apartment clean, exercising to stay healthy and learning to cook from my wife so she can come home to a hot meal when she comes home from work. I must say Mr. Rollins your videos are some of the best education and entertainment I’ve ever seen. They always bring a smile to my face and warmth to my soul. Keep up the wonderful work, Mr. Rollins. God Bless
I feel like a amazing cook! Thank you Kent and Shannon! I recieved a bag of catfish from my blessing food guy and didnt know what to do with it. My Daddy was a fisherman but it was bluegill perch and walleye. But I followed your directions and recipe and these catfish were amazing! I made a side of coleslaw and fries but the star of the show was the delicious catfish! THANK YOU!

Found you from a Reddit thread Today. Never watched a cooking channel on RUclips before. But i instantly fell in love with this channel. This is so amazing to watch. I love it. Greetings from germany :)
I love your show so many of your recipes are like my mom used to make. She wasn’t very good on teaching, she just take over so seeing your shows I’m learning what she used to make that I love 💗 thank you very much. It’s like she’s with me again and that’s precious.
Sir, your videos have truly enriched my life. Okie born, was on a horse before I could walk. Life has took me away from Oklahoma, but you bring a piece of it to me with every video. Thanks to you, and yours for these great videos.
Thanks for the tips and recipe!! I used this batter and method to cook up some large mouth bass, bluegill and rock bass that my family and I went out and caught on Tuesday 🥰
A tip a friend of mine told me was to soak the fish in a lemon lime soda like Sprite Sierra mist or 7up for maybe 30 minutes to an hour. It didn't take away from the flavor but it did pull out any muddyness there might be in the fish
My friend you make me wanna get back into cooking professionally. I went to culinary school back 1999 and cooked in many places. My favorite is cooking at the old folks homes. The appreciation for good cooking shown by the residents makes going to work everyday a pleasure. Unfortunately after a couple bad employers I lost my passion. Seeing these videos is resparking my interest and passion. Just need to find the right place. Thanks friend!

It feels Like a big ol’ comfortable family reunion to me. Much love to you and yours from West Virginia.
One of my favorites. I went to Long John Silvers and for the three of us it was $35.00. It was the worst fish and potatoes. It was oily and very dry. I should have looked for this video and followed the recipe and made it myself. Great 👍🏻 job you two.
Thank you Mr. Rollins... I really appreciate your videos and your obvious Christian values. May God bless your efforts. By the way, your recipes bless my soul. Best Regards and Good Luck! Fred Williams Dallas, TX
Kent and Shannon. I just used this recipe as is with no changes except I didn't have your seasoning so used my NM southwest seasoning. I made this with Alaskan fresh caught halibut and it was excellent. My wife asked me to add it to the go to recipes. I even tried the red potato as well. This is going into my boat recipes as no refrigeration required. I will be the hero after a hard day fishing. As a Eastern New Mexican now living in Alaska your chuck wagon recipes make camp cooking to die for. I don't hunt so well anymore but get invited to cook. Keep those recipes coming.
The folks at lodge cast iron sure appreciate you folks, you inspired me to go and purchase a whole family of cast iron skillets and dutch oven, thanks to you kent for inspiring me to cook with love. Thank you for your powerfully heart, and I will catch the rabbit, thank you sir for encouraging all of us to go forward, and enjoy our gift,.... life.

Egg wash and fry. It was great and the kids that said, "I don't like fish" tried it and liked it. I put the dry mix in a gallon zip lock bag. Made it way easier to clean up.

You made my day , Love fried catfish , when I was Younger we go fishing all day long , come home that evening clean the fish and fry them up for supper, Love y’all
Man, I miss me some good friday night fish fryin' ... I like the idea also of the "smiling red tater" .. Im trying that TONIGHT =) Thanks again, Kent. Good eats !!
Kent I've been watching your vids now for about a year.I really enjoy watching and learning how to cook the real way. Thanks to you and your wife I got me some cast iron now and that's the only way I cook now. Thanks
That looks just like Grandma and Grandpa's golden fried catfish that they used to make and man it made the sound of the crunch for it too and oh my God I bet that was so delicious I can't wait to try that recipe myself thank you so much for showing us this.
I've noticed that with a lot of your meals/meats, you aspire to remove moisture. At least surface moisture, and it makes a lot of sense. Not being a kitchen connoisseur, that's something I've never thought about. I learn a lot from you. Thanks.
I cook fresh catfish fillets that I caught this morning on my grill no aluminum foil smoking with a little bit of wood they turn out perfect every time just ask my dog
You've brought back a ton of old memories, some of which may or may not involve a fish fry at a bar on a lake. I'll be trying your method the next time I go fishing.
Thanx for the tip regarding that black line in farmed catfish, I'll keep it in mind! My grandpa used to bring his catfish home alive and put them in a baby pool and fed them bread for a week. That's how I do it too. It's the best way to get that muddy taste out of wild caught catfish
Kent, every yr at Easter, we have the same ol ham & stuff, but this year, my Mother-In-Law said, "Let's have an Easter fish fry." Best decision we ever made! It was pouring rain, but the guys fried fish in the garage & us women had a chance to actually sit around & talk & enjoy the little ones! Hope to meet you & Shannon in Branson this year!!
My dad really loves the way I make fried fish. Gonna try your batter next time around. Oh and btw, I got a new cast iron pan, went through your seasoning videos, and damm that thing is doing fine cooking right now. Thanks for sharing.
Your videos are awesome Kent!! You're very helpful and great tips to get us off our rearends and make your recipes, because you make it look so simple and delicious!! Thank you so much for sharing, I love watching!!

Kent, just had to drop you a line and tell you that I tried your Deep Fried Catfish and it was great. The Red River Ranch Seasoning gave it just the right amount of kick; even my kids loved it (now that's saying something). I’m looking forward to try your other recipes.

Just tried this recipe in my new Lodge... And it’s some of the best fried fish I’ve ever had! Thank you Kent!
Glad you enjoyed it
Those are some excellent, clean fillets you have there. I'm sure they were delicious. Walleye and Crappie are the kings of all fish though.
I love some crappie better than any fish I ever caught, just don't have time to fish anymore
i agree nothing beats a good fried crappie platter o mee goodness
Crappie is some of the best fishing around North TX not too mention best eating. Nice white fillet battered fried in some peanut oil in a 12" cast. Boy howdy
grandprismatic Yes sir, and if you've never had walleye, it's like having bigger thicker fillets of crappie.
Ever had striper? That'll give walleye and crappie a run for their money
I used your recipe for catfish on some catfish I had in the freezer from last summer and I really liked it. I have a new catfish recipe now. Thanks!
It does make a good crust for sure
Kent ..... were you wearing a Speedo to go "noodling" in the backyard pond...? lol.... Tell Shannon she's very creative on this one for me!! That fish looked awesome brother! God Bless ya'll.... hope we cross paths some day...!
Thanks my friend and no speedo here, be safe
Made a gluten free version of this by using rice flour.
Deep fried in cast iron with refined coconut oil.
Omgosh... awesome. Thank you Kent.

When he dropped the fish and the dog was like "that's all me" XD
