  • As a general rule, purchased microgreens typically last roughly 2 weeks in your fridge. The shelf life can vary, however, depending on the type of microgreen and the method of storing them. In this video we discuss different microgreen storage methods, along with how to get the longest shelf life possible out of your product!

    Less than 3 minutes in, and you are giving great advice that I haven’t heard in the dozens of micro green videos that I’ve seen. Washing the greens would seem like the natural thing to do. Knowing to let them dry and keep them that way is a huge detail. 👍

    Hello,
    Very nice videos. I have a question... did you do any experiment that shows how much longer pads help the shelf-life of microgreens? If so, how was the difference of with and without? Which species did you test? Thanks you very much for all the videos you share here on RUclips!!

    Hi! I am new and learning. How much do you sell a tray of cilantro for, when selling by the full tray, to a restaurant?
    How much of a yield do you think the tray produces and how many grams of seed to you sow?
    Thank you for your clear videos!

    @4:32 My husband and I recently started our microgreens business in our local urban area. We have our first customer and a second that is trying out the product. The once question we have been asked by the store owners and a few customers is how long can the microgreens keep in the refrigerator. I have been labeling my microgreens with a one week expiration date. I have kept my microgreens for more than 3 weeks at home. I think it would be safe to change my labels to reflect a 2 week freshness date. Any thoughts? Also, @6:28 you talk about the wheatgrass. In our area (Michigan) it seems that we would need a Food Establishment License in order to sell "processed" veggies (or anything processed probably). Are you required to have a Food Establishment License in your area to sell the frozen wheatgrass instead of selling the cut wheatgrass or trays of fully-grown wheatgrass?

    I really like the idea of the absorbent pads, thanks! I also want to mention that all plants lose nutrients over time and fresh is best, so after a week or so hopefully the greens have been consumed and they are ready to buy more.

      Honestly, I use google cloud for everything. I just put everything in the google calendar.
      Every time I get a new client, I put in the calendar a sow date, harvest date, and delivery date. Then I put each one of those on repeat weekly/biweekly.
      Everyday I print out my daily calendar and get to work!
      Very efficient to me, and best of all.... FREE!

    Hey, so when you place the food safe packs in the container, do you place them with the text facing up or down, or does it not matter at all?

    • @PrincetonMicrogreens
      @PrincetonMicrogreens  3 года назад

      That’s actually a great question!
      I find that the moisture likes to sit towards the top, so for the first 24 hours (harvest the day before the market) I put them upside down for the moisture to be sucked directly into the packet!

      @@PrincetonMicrogreens Hey! If you don't mind, I have another question... Considering the scenario that I said before (delivery scheduled to 9am, harvesting in the night before), what is the last time you water your micros? Like, in the final stage they're totally bottom watered, but I hear somewhere that if you water, then like, harvest 30 minutes after, the package tends to get a lot of humidity... So, considering you're harvesting the night before delivery, the last water will be like, in the morning? How many hours before the harvest? Thank you so much for your help, buddy!
