Just notice how he looks like a healthy man after he agreed to completely break bad, that V’d up, sentient tumor (thematically Butcher’s dark side, opposite to Becca’s angel side) will kill him whenever it wants to, and will keep him alive as long as Butcher stays diabolical. But this diabolical notion is what prompts the more fundamental, moral destruction of the character; if we interpret it this way, then it is a pretty good symbol and I’m intrigued to see how they present “we need to stay human to defeat the monsters” (I think the plot of getting the entire Boys V’d up may happen). Also, Butcher’s ending (definitely not a happily-ever-after one) would be totally different from the comics, which is a good thing.
Wait…. Break bad????? Is that like a reference to the drama series… Breaking Bad by Vince Gilligan where a normal high school chemistry teacher breaks bad after being diagnosed with lung cancer and goes on an epic adventure with a junky played by Aaron Paul named Jesse??
@@SillyBoneThugg Yes, right here it’s merely a use of this phrase.
@@SillyBoneThuggthe show was based off the phrase, lmao
@TonyTheFriendlyMovieFan, Idk if he acted completely bad, he acted irrationally and it lead to more consequences, but Neuman deserved it. Plus why didnt Butcher kill Zoe, or Starlight, or Kimiko?
IF they needed to stay "human" tell that to Blue Hawk, Stormfront, Firecracker, Deep, Rufus, Little Nina, and pretty much every supe or fodder person the Boys have killed at one point of another

You guys realy should learn the difference between villian and anti hero. Unlike Homelander Butcher never killed anyone innocent. Never raped anyone. Never killed anyone from his own team. Never made a little kid jump from a building. If Butcher was that bad, he would kill Zoe and guard with the gun in the finale. Everyone he killed was justifyed, like mesmer or gunpowder. Mesmer ratted them out and Gunpowder attacked hım twice. You can't even compere it to what Homelander has done in the show. Not the mention he killed little kid and his father on the plane in the very first season. And Neuman killed susan and so many innocent people on the court just because edgar wanted it. Butcher lost his hope when mallory gets killed by Ryan and he has every right to...
Being good and feeling guilt was literally killing him 💀
That’s what I noticed
Butcher fr has that Mr Burns mentality 😭
Blame that on Kessler
His tumor has complete control over his health. Butcher inherited 0 powers when he took the real compound… because the tumor he developed from V24 soaked it all up hahah.
homelander makes SUCH a good parallel for butcher. i mean there's a reason butcher got laser eyes on temp-V instead of some other power
Yeah, it's also how they're fighting over Ryan.
@notjimmy6486 Butcher's really doing that thing of "Step-dad who's a better parent than the biological dad", too. I mean, now all bets are off, because Ryan snapping made Butcher snap, but for the 2-4th seasons, there really was no other way to look at it(aside from the "I don't wanna look at ya" line, which I'm 99% sure was just a Harry and the Hendersons "It'd be better for you to be with them than with me" move, and not just his rage seething out, but I'm getting off-topic), Butcher was clearly trying to do everything for Ryan opposite of what Butcher's father would have done, and I definitely think that on his tirade of supe murder, Butcher's not going to be able to kill Ryan, ostensibly the last piece of Becca that he has left, and is going to let Ryan kill him, either as revenge for killing his biological dad, or just to stop Butcher, or out of rage for what Butcher and Mallory were trying to do, or all of the above.
He was literally Homelander without the flying

@@cankarahan8013 and that, my friend, is EXACTLY how Butcher thinks. Homelander parallels Butcher because he shows exactly what Butcher will become if he goes too far, and well, I think we’ll see that start to happen in Season 5
Season 5 may not end as the comic did, but I truly believe it will be Hughie who will put an end and kill butcher!
I wonder how tho since Hughie ain’t got no V

Homelander< Butcher < Hugie is the kill order and by who for sure how it’s gonna happen is up for debate and Ryan is still a mystery imo
I think Becca’s personality will definitely return. She didn’t show up in the finale because that was butcher’s lowest point in darkness. But I believe he hasn’t thrown her away yet&that final decision between good&evil will come when he see’s Ryan again.
She hasn’t appeared ever since Butcher’s v’d up Kessler told her to “shut her cakehole”. I think the Kessler part has full control now.
My theory is something similar. When butcher blew up Ezekiel the last person he saw was Becca so I think she saved him. Kessler took credit for it but I think that was in order to deceive butcher into siding with him. I don't know if it will be a happy ending for him but I think we will see his struggle with Becca and Kessler again
@@kc1john Yeah but we know she’s the driving force behind his good side ever since butcher opened up to hughie in S1. I don’t think the writers are gonna be like “okay no more nuance of butcher’s mentality he’s 100% evil to all supes now”. This is a minor detail but he didn’t kill Zoe in the warehouse after killing Victoria either he just knocked her out, took the virus&dipped.
Beca side died when Ryan killed Mallory
Agree.
Butcher is literally embracing the Becca side of him by arguing with Grace to belief in Ryan.
Then Ryan kills her and storms off, and Butcher has to watch what could be the birth of another Homelander.
This breaks him and he embraces the nihilistic hate, at least for now.
Really Butcher is the Necessary Evil. The boys had good intentions, but it’s constantly screwed them over because they only took half measures. To beat Vought and homelander they have to go all the way.
breaking bad reference
Nuemann had it coming. The only thing that’s upsetting about her death was that her little cuck boy Samir didn’t end up biting the bullet after he almost killed kimiko
Hughie’s plan would have worked. Instead you get de facto President Homelander and almost all the Boys put in prison because Butcher screwed everything up.
No half measures
put your half measures away waltuh
Thing is Neumann would betray the boys in a second if homelander just threatened her with killing her daughter. And nobody is stopping her from just popping their heads. So Billie’s actions aren’t actually horrible as it seems.
Everyone forgets Susan Raynor's death too for some reason
Homelander already threatened her with Zoe tho lol that was the last straw causing her to turn. And the fact that Neuman could have killed them at any time when she was there but chose not to (shapeshifter deleted the info they had on her so their leverage was gone) proves she wanted to turn a new leaf and she would have been useful. Not to mention Butcher killing her was dumb anyway cuz it led to the Boys being captured. Obviously Neuman had it coming but he still played it the wrong way
@@aditwani6562I loved her in S1
@@HighCHDI agree that she had no reason to betray them in that final moment, and she definitely had the advantage over them even after getting outed, but based off her history, if a better opportunity presented itself in the future, she’d def flip. That’s just her character. I understand why Butcher did what he did, but idk if it was necessary in that moment
Neumann could have been taken them out. She always genuinely cared about Huey. Butcher has always moved off of emotion which isn’t tactical in the slightest. Now The Boys are caught up once again because of him acting without thinking
i have a few thoughts on butcher. so first off when butcher called hughie to say “tell the boys i’m sorry” and that he’s given up, it felt VERY final. i view that as the last time we will see “our” butcher again.
butcher has spent the whole season battling kessler. they say kessler is him, but the way he changes when kessler gets in his head is TOO intense. he starts chopping off legs and commuting to total genicide. he hasn’t been this brutal before. the tumor is manipulating him too much for it to just “be his negative urges”. ex. butcher told the boys about the virus bc he “didn’t want that much blood on his hands” yet in the end he is smiling at the thought of it??? kessler tells him to kill ryan and he ABSOLUTELY does NOT want to. he does care about ryan and desperately tries to save him. he gives up when the plan goes south and he does NOT look happily at kessler.
also how the tumor refuses to help him fight of noir and the deep and made him get sicker all season as a manipulation tactic. that’s why he looks so healthy in the end, he gave in to kessler. if kessler is him, then why is he hurting him?? that’s why i don’t believe that. why would hurt HIMSELF until he turns evil?? why is he doing things he’s made clear he does really want to have to do?
when mallory died kessler completely took over butcher. i think kessler is controling butcher BEYOND it just being what he wants in the back of his head. i think kessler is a v up and dramatic version of butchers negative thoughts instead of genuinely being what butcher wants.
basically i don’t believe kessler and butcher are the same person. our butcher is gone and this is kessler now, so butcher ultimately DID die this episode.
Don't you mean "why is he doing things he’s made clear he doesn't really want to have to do?"
I think two things can be true at once.
The tumor wasn't born out of nothing, I was born out of butcher's brain. It knows exactly whats in it. Taking temp v was akin to butcher rejecting his humanity as well as the moral high ground. All that darkness, all that rage, that was the crucible of the tumor.
The tumor is Billy butcher at his lowest and angriest. He's being controlled by his shadow. After season 3, he had time to reflect, time to ponder on how he would end his warpath. He tried to reconcile with ryan and the boys. He's grown in the past year, but the tumor is just as angry and demented.
he's simultaneously not wanting to kill ryan or all supes, but his shadow will literally kill him if he won't.
He thinks there's no hope with ryan, so either he dies and leaves the world in the shit or he gives in to his shadow, gets diabolical and saves the world
Kessler is also inside his brain so it wouldn't surprise me if he was able to physically influence him as well. Butcher just stopped fighting it, so that could explain his attitude
I think in the state he's in, he may even be thinking about killing Ryan. That "tell the boys I'm sorry" was him knowing he was so close to death. I'm also confused about "Kessler" taking over. Did Butcher know what was gonna happen? What his power would be? He looked healthy and his facial expressions made it seem like he could control the being inside him. So "Kessler" let's Butcher use the power without blacking out like he did with Ezekiel. It could come down to Kessler vs Becca. Maybe she has some kind of power too. I think Butcher will die at the end. They probably won't follow the comics and have Butcher kill the boys. Butcher may also have a kid with queen mauve. I don't think Homelander will die. I think he will be depowered by soldierboys power of destroying the V. Butcher will be about to kill him and realize Homelander will be more miserable as a regular human. He is also aging which I'm interested to see where that goes. I'm also confused why Cyndi was there when they grabbed Huey. The boys actually freed her. So why would she join Homelander which was with Storm front, the person that had Cyndi locked up. Then I think Storm front is alive. The scene where they go to that conspiracy theory comic con type thing, they have some things right. One says soldierboy is being held by the CIA. Another says Storm front is alive..
@@DpiddyPiddyd Honestly letting Homelander live as the thing he despises the most (a disabled person) would be a perfect way to end it. Like, imagine if he's depowered and put in a wheelchair. Forced to spend the rest of his life weak and helpless again. He wouldn't need to be beaten any further. As to him, he'd already be dead. A husk of who he once was. And beneath the people he treated as insects. And the worst part? Unlike when he felt powerless as a child. He'll know he 100% deserves it. See, John doesn't have to die, only Homelander. And without his powers, he's just a scared shitless kid.
@@DemiSupremi I wouldn't be surprised if it did end that way. Homelander in jail on top of it. Possibly leaving Ryan as the only supe left. Or Butcher and Queen Mauve's baby. Or that could end up another Chekov's unfired gun. Either that or Ryan will kill Homelander. Their last interaction, when Homelander destroyed the apartment because he found the pic of Becca and Butcher. I mean, jeez, the pic had his mom in it too.
The look Ryan gave Homelander when he says "come..,.here...now...that's an order"
It looked like Ryan was ready to fight Homelander. He might have actually fought him if he tried to force anything on Ryan. Ryan was definitely sick of his shit at that time but the scheme to trap him was so dumb. I think Ryan may not go to the tower yet, possibly worried about Homelander. If Ryan does tell Homelander about the failed trap, Homelander may go nuclear, so he may not tell him. Also Ryan looked more fascinated than sad or remorseful after killing Grace, which I think that may have been the moment Butcher let Kessler in since he knows Ryan is too dangerous alive. Who knows, some of this show is predictable but there are so many curve balls and unanswered questions.
I fully agree. I think the series conclusion will be smth like "you dont fight fire with fire". Smth like that.
Hughie even said "If we want to fight this, we might have to start acting human."
In the immortal words of a certain vampire: “Only a man can kill a monster.”
I'm calling it now the virus only removes powers from the supes.
i cant believe how many people i have seen say butcher isnt a villain going into season 5, the man is about to commit genocide and will not just kill supes, but is guaranteed to kill innocent civilians as well to fulfill the plan. Acknowledging that he is a villain doesn’t just suddenly undo his character development or who he is, and people need to stop acting like calling him for who he has become is an indictment on themselves as a person because they relate to or like him.
How is he guaranteed to kill innocent civilians as well to fulfill the plan?
Sameer says to Butcher that if the virus becomes strong enough to kill Homelander, especially as an airborne pathogen, it won't affect only Supes. A lot of normal people will get sick, probably being irreparably disabled, assuming it doesn't kill them as well as the Supes.

Neuman is too unpredictable and has been proven to be a liar who will play both sides to suit her. She would throw the boys under the bus to save her own ass, like she did Stan. In some regards, she is worse than homelander because she is incredibly cunning. The pieces might have been in place but thats what she wants you to think, as she did with Stan and put on a convincing act. Im not buying the turn a new leaf nonsense because she is a career politician who revels in the game. Butcher is a tragic character from the start because it was always a one way trip for him. He feels like he has nothing left to lose at least till hughie can force some morals into him.
Nah Homelander threatened her with Zoey which was a complete no go. There was really no working with him anymore from this point, also It was kinda implied throughout the season she would end up helping The Boys anyways due to Hughie trying to convince her. It was a bad move killing her and it led directly to the Boys getting captured and Homelander taking over.

He chopped Samir's leg off and is now thinking of erasing all supes from the face of the Earth. Also Ryan killing Mallory was not intentional, Grace really lost her mind or something trying to lock the kid up and train him to kill his father against his will, even though Ryan said he's gonna come back, he just wanted to think. Butcher was really stupid for thinking that Ryan would accept killing Homelander right away, and he snapped for a stupid reason. Just because he's not Homelander level doesn't mean he's not evil.
@@idiocrat3744 Maybe because supes are fckin everyone up and he had to stop it? And the only way is getting more virus. Samir refused at first but Butcher had to do it because there was no other choice. But this was the wildest thing he does ı admit. Still nothing compered to homelander...
Its wild Victoria Nueman spent her time doing the wrong thing for the right reasons to save her child from the horrors she had to go through but ultimately being the reasons why Zoe ends up going to Red River shit hit me sad lowkey but if only she didnt give Homelander the address to Ryans location he would probably be ok with teaming up with Butcher to defeat Homelander....she really did pave the path to her own demise and others one other thing i noticed is when Hughie said we need to start being human it instantly reminded me of Armin in attack on titan saying the exact opposite in order to rise above monsters we have to abandon our humanity. Which is I believe butcher did when grace died. Remember Grace was the one person who gave Butcher a way in for exposing the Sups and avenging his wife and was the start for the boys becoming a group when lamplighter was involved until he betrayed them and was snuffed out as the spy it really does feel like the 1st and last episode of Season 4 were the only ones that feel cohesive in carrying the themes from the last 3 seasons oui
The one thing I find a little strange about that tho is I feel like it’s a little outta character for the boys to just let her be sent to the red river. Hughie in particular because him and Neuman were close friends, and he was likely close with Zoe too. Still loved this season tho

Great title & agreed with the video. It's a tragedy. The dude tried so hard this season.
I don't disagree, but it's hard for me to see him as a villain when there's so much about his character that I can identify with and relate to.
Villains are typically made, not born. It’s easy to sympathize wit villains when we get into their head and get to know them. Bojack does this very well. He’s a terrible person, but the show gives you so much insight into him, gives him so much humanity, and makes him likable enough than people justify his horrific actions. I think it’s just a mark of good writing tbh. I could just be looking too much into it to be fair, lol😅
I think that’s why they humanize the villains. We can understand based on shared experiences why they did what they did. However, the difference between a hero and the villain is their response to tragedy. Hughey certainly had enough tragedy to become evil, but his response was very different even showing forgiveness
@@its9333thank you. A lot of people in the comments don’t seem to be understanding this lol

The

@@its9333I agree hughie is a good person. But when it comes to shits getting done butcher is the best. And the reason why the boys fail their missions constantly is everone except butcher is in a moral conflict while on the mission. Which means a half-assed measure ends being a failure while butcher gets in all the way through. Except that one time when he betrayed soldier boy. SB litterally said "so this is it everything you eve wanted is right fucking there and now you blink" shows that even butcher had some conflict and that resulted in the best opportunity to kill homelander being wasted. And now butcher realized that in order to accomplishe the final mission he needs to shut down his humanity that kessler is a representative of. It works in real life too. When soldiers are sent to combat they know some things aren't right but they turn off their humanity and moral thinking while doing it. That's why after they retire most of them get ptsd as all the human emotions and conflict comes flooding back in
The whole plot twist at the end could have been completely avoided if any of the boys had spent 20 minutes checking on butcher in the hospital
They were all shitting on him this whole season for some reason😂
Only hughie checked on him...
I personally don’t think Hughie’s plan at the end of Season 4 would’ve worked, in season 3, Homelander said that he would go berserk and start destroying everything if the Flight 37 video got released. I think, the only way to stop Homelander, is to kill him and Butcher is the only one who is willing to.
Also, in season 3, before Hughie tells Butcher that Neuman is a Supe, he is willing to stop the fight because of his son and his wife. So I think that Butcher could definitely be redeemed in season 5 before he probably dies.
Butcher hasn't done anything wrong so far.
@@trevturp6891He is about to commit genocide, and got the entire cast in jail. Also he literally made Homelander the de facto president of the United States instead of taking him down. It’s like he was actively trying to make the worst possible decision on every occasion.
Imma say it like this. Butcher has a point.
Compared to comic butcher, show Butcher had to start in a better place to reach this point. Having a passive death timer didn't do it to him, it didn't break him to such a stage where he would wholly embrace the final solution. Failing.... what must feel like everyone is what did Butcher in - and keep in mind, for all supe-genocide Kessler was hyping up, Butcher only killed Neuman and kept his tentacles away from Kimiko and Starlight - the latter of which has been a pain in his ass. Not to mention, Zoe - who got bodies under her.
I don't think he's approaching this mission with a personal vendetta as much as he's doing so out of a feeling of broader responsibility. If Ryan becomes Augustus to Homelander's Ceasar, then someone needs to tear down the establishment, and honestly - with what we see in the post credits with supes all over willing to do the dirty for Vought - it might be for the better to kill a fair number of supes and ask questions later, because I've barely seen one worth redeeming. I mean. Big Schlock took out a man just trying to live with his family in Belize! If ding-dong magic guy isn't a cool dude, then who is? If the Deep and Noir 2 can go on murder benders against employees - two guys, that if you took them in a different context would be rather pathetic socially - who can you trust?
Even A-Train took a specialized journey to get where he is right now, across a multitude of years and atrocities. We can't spare the same for every supe. Butcher made the right call.
Kessler didn't screw him over - not truly. That credit goes to Grace. Butcher had it in the bag, 'til she ran her mouth and just made it all worse, and even then she could've withdrawn at any point 'til Ryan pushed her and there was a solid chance for things to get repaired.
Not to mention, that the desperation excuse doesn't even work because she's was the only member of the cast who knew Soldier Boy was on ice. If Ryan couldn't be that tool against Homelander, she knew of a backup that seemed pretty effective the first go around.
I agree. Its sad to see Butcher fall so far and quit working with The Boys, but I can't say he does not have his own valid reasons for it.

@@cankarahan8013 Don't get me wrong. I never said Butcher was that bad, he is not a monster. He is a troubled, violent man who struggles with his own nature and tried to hold on to his humanity. But what I am saying is that he really does become a villain by the end of season 4 once he gives in to Kessler and goes forward with abandoning the boys to enact his genocidal plan.
Ryan by killing Mallory actually became a mini homelander (early s1 cuz Homie didn’t kill people for nothing at that point it was either accidents or necessary) showing there is no hope for the world as long as supes exist
I wouldn’t call him a villain he’s more like a anti-hero like Deadpool or the punisher, he went entirely with the plan they had (kill Victoria Neuman), he was acting more towards Neutral Good when he was fighting the parasite in his body, when he let Joe Kessler take over (ie the parasite) he didn’t harm any of the boys he’s just a form of Chaotic Good in character form.
What I love is that originally in the episode where Homelander kills the scientists who raised him, the planned idea was to have him walk in acting like a villain. No smiles, no facade of kindness. Just there to pull wings off of flies. I believe this only got changed because Antony Starr suggested he act nice at first.
Now we see Butcher do exactly that. He walks in and pulls Neuman apart, like tearing a fly apart. They are so similar yet so different.
Butcher had no reason to kill Kimiko and Starlight. That’s why he let them stick around.
i can already tell that the poster for season 5 is gonna be Butcher and homelanders faces joined together as they are pretty much the same now
Nah the only reason he cared about moral shit was ryan once he lost ryan he gave up
I'm getting the feeling that Kessler is really the one in control here, in that Butcher is now just the embodiment of Kessler and is no longer Butcher. It was shown in prior episodes how much power Kessler has, such as when he killed Ezekiel or when he made Butcher pass out (assuming that was Kessler's doing). I think that if Butcher didn't have the tumor he would have taken the higher road due to figures like Hughie and MM and also the dream sequence he had in season 3 with Lenny. I digress; the fact that it seems Kessler has full control of Butcher in this way just makes Butcher's full lean/descent into this evil side of him more tragic.
Butcher is Kessler lol. Kessler isn’t a different entity, he just represents Butchers darker side that he’s been fighting all season but comes to embrace in the finale. He says “you’re me” in the episode where we find out Joe isn’t real.
@@HighCHD I know Kessler isn't a different entity. I'm saying that it's tragic that Butchers overall demeanor, as of the finale, seems to be 100% Kessler and 0% Becca, as in Butcher has fully given into the darker side of himself potentially to the point of unrecoverability, and to the point where Butcher is no longer the combination of Becca and Kessler, but wholly Kessler, to such an extent that Butcher as a character could reasonably just be renamed to Kessler
@@monarchia4736 ah I see what you’re saying lol, I’m saying there’s a misconception you said that “Kessler” is controlling Butcher’s actions. Kessler isn’t real. Everything that’s happened with Kessler up until this point has been 100% Butcher. Even Ezekiel, it’s just implied he can’t remember what happened because of the tumor in his brain damaging his memory. Also the fact that he reverted to killing ALL supes after Ryan screwing up kinda shows he was too far gone from the get go despite trying to be better.
@@HighCHD Kessler is just an amplified subset of Butcher's negative motivations, this much is clear. Though, consider: the tumor that butcher has has the ability to alter brain/body function, which is obvious considering his hallucinating and tentacles. I always interpreted Kessler as being like... a separate mind in butcher's head. Like yes he is hallucinating Kessler's existence, same for Becca, but they seem to operate independently from Butcher's control, almost making them their own people that function independently. It's like a struggle for control. You're right in saying that Kessler isn't ACTUALLY real, but I feel as though the idea of Kessler fueled by the mind-altering tumor that Butcher has has the power to dictate Butcher's actions, feelings, overall health (?), etc. Butcher was noticeably.. pretty good looking during the Neuman incident (in comparison to how he was seen earlier in the episode). No coughing, no visible health struggle at all. He seemed fresher after giving into Kessler's ideals
Vicky was and will never be a trustworthy ally, killing her was one of their goals for a reason, trusting her was the dumbest decision Hughie made, she's irredeemable.
But yeah Butcher isn't gonna hold back and probably gonna die a sad death.
even if everything you said was correct she cares about her daughter and that was her reason for half the stuff she did.if she betrayed the boys in anyway her daughter would be forfeit
@@calebdemosthene284 Her daughter is the reason she will betray anyone, including the boys, they literally can't guarantee their own safety, and you think they can keep Zoey safe, and once she realizes that it over.
Butcher killing her was the right choice, Hughie is just following his emotions and not being logical, fighting monsters needs monsters not some inspirational speeches, Victoria and Homelander are monsters and having any sympathy for them will only lead to more horrible things to happen.
good point, ı hate when people say Butcher is villian. Not the mention he killed little kid and his father on the plane in the very first episode. And Neuman killed susan and so many innocent people on the court just because edgar wanted it. Butcher lost his hope when mallory gets killed by Ryan and he has every right to...
I really hope it doesn't end like the comics but we'll see, great vid btw
this was a great video. i am definitely very excited to see how season 5 is going to play out and i can’t wait to see the eventual butcher vs homelander II
2:25 Something worth noting is that there's an entire conversation scene when Butcher first goes rogue in the comics where Hughie and the other The Boys members come to this exact conclusion. Butcher may go on about how he has it out specifically for Homelander in particular but Butcher's actions and passing remarks make it very clear that he won't stop at just Homelander.
My dude it is absolutely not "pretty much confirmed he's gonna be the final villain of The Boys"... Homelander is absolutely 100% the final villain and The Boys bringing Butcher back, or Butcher going out doing the right thing is so much more likely
You know I would love to see Billy Butcher in a MK Game soon with his Tem V and Super Cancer Powers but that a Story for another day, ok back on Track, we know William will be the main Villain of the Final Season, he’s basically the Yang to Homie’s Yin that the difference between them are one Hates Supes, the Other Hates Humanity, but in the End it’s not of who is the Monster and who is the Man anymore as both of them choose to Swim as Monsters that to Sinking on Grounding in their Humanity, let’s be honest, no matter how many times Butcher tries to be better for his Wife Becca and Ryan, in the End one way or another his Destructive Nature shaped by his Father and Kessler will pull him back, he has the Tragedy of Venom as well as William Berkin and the Mutantion of Resident Evil but he also has that Extremism of 2012 Shreeder that will take every single opportunity to achieve his Own Goals no matter the Cost or transformating into a Freak to just show how Hypocritical he is, The Boys were this Close to Winning but thanks to Grace the Damage was done and Butcher made this so much worse that his Team will pay the Price, even if Annie and Kimiko were to get Hurt he doesn’t care they are Freaks in his Eyes and the Reason why he didn’t do anything to them is because of the Value they have and because the Team cares for them, Now I have no idea what’s the Next Direction to the Sorry as William is Running Out of Time and Homie is taking as Extreme Measures as Billy is Doing, especially with the Mental Devil on his Shoulders where his Angel used to Be.
What team cares for them?

All I know is, if they kill most of the boys like they do in the comics, I'll be writing Kripke and Urban some mighty strong worded letters they may never read
Nah I don’t think the rest of The Boys will be killed off, but they will have to take him down though
Now now, *He* is the real Hero
I wanna say that RN Butcher is Ved up Punisher, brutal anti-hero. While we know that some supes are good people, the majority of them are freaking assholes. Also we know that the boys universe features around 1k to 2k supes and statisticly speaking 150 mil people in USA alone would outweight 1-2k supes even if the good guys will unfortunatly die.
I like how you can see the parallels between butcher and punisher because he was basically the stand in for punisher in the comics, I think (so take this with a grain of salt) Garth Ennis originally pitched the comics, or at least what he was going for, as what if the punisher killed all dc and marvel superheroes but was turned down by both of them. So it is interesting to think of Butcher in the show as a deconstruction/critique of edgy comic book anti-heroes like Punisher.
I love how he looks into the camera like the Nigel from Rio.
Don’t think he’s gonna be the final main villain of s5, due to how Amazon tries to surprise its audience and differentiate itself from the comics, but he has basically become comic book Butcher.
And Becca being the Angel on his shoulder too. I think she’ll show him the way towards the end of s5. I also hope s5 is a two-part season.

Brotha never understood the concept of "Antihero" and mistakes it with "Villain"
I think anti villain suits Bucher more
I get how he got there but yeah. Butcher is just not a hero at all. He has understandable motives and reasons but he never quite does the right thing. He's a full on villain. And a pretty good one at that.
Eren Yeager was never a hero either. Not even in that messy ending that tried to do that. By trying to make him not a villain they royally screwed his character. I hope they don't do that with Butcher. The character just works flawlessy as a villain.
butcher's not yet a villain but just watch as he starts to kill innocents in S5
Butcher is more Venom than actual Venom in the movies.
3:19 had me crying for 10 minutes
It's crazy how you showed a clip of a woman being ripped in half at the beginning of the video but call rape the “r-word”
he's following the rules of the masters that own the terms of the platform his channel is on
It makes sense that Bucher asked MM to look after Ryan now, Butcher knows deep down that he's not morally fit to truly honor Becca's request.
4:20 Ye, She wanted to team up with boys, but she still was a villian who only decided to join them because there was risk for HER family, she had 0 hezitation to put people to jails for homelander and ONLY reason to join boys was egoism, she didnt regret her acts as villian
Butcher from the start was a man with nothing to lose truly he had some form for a bit but after what happened with Ryan it was gone
Personally, I want butcher to win and kill every supe. Every other show would have butcher stopped, but having butcher win would make things a lot more interesting which fits the show and would be very entertaining to watch.
Alright let me cook Soldier boy takes away her powers and with the virus out Kimiko lives
eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
@@bassblowbackrecords8932 nahhh EVERY supe
Nah having Butcher succeed in killing every supe would be just like the comics and every literal dark toned satire tbf.
Butcher not succeeding in wiping supes out would actually make things much more interesting because it creates more possibilities for the plot.
@@tomoruin you read the comics don’t you…
honestly after that intro and the 2nd mortal kombat dlc pack just announced i wish butcher was on it bc homelander was in the first one..
Butcher reminds me of Snape in Harry Potter. Snape experienced so much shit that he willingly joined Voldemort - and even though he switched sides never really was really good. He still had a dark side (bullying students, fascination for dark magic...) like Butcher (violence as a legitimate mean, hatred for Supes...). Butcher just had a different order of things. He turned evil after after being a shady hero for years instead of vice versa Snape.
Yes i 💯 percent agree, i think he did try at times as you mentioned, but he truly is just a true villain or anti villain at heart at the very least.
Same vibe as Alexander Anderson pulling that shit with the nail. Bro really couldn't live without War.
Butcher is Hughies dark mirror
Hughie is the Hero of this series.
Now. Butcher is good. BUTCHER is good. The villain is the tumor/cancer, it's literally a sentiment tumor, it is mentally self destructive, it almost takes over the host. The tumor is embodied as the Kessler who took him to the bad side. To inflict most (self-)destruction, the tumor needed to do what Butcher did (kill Neuman), so it did it through Kessler. It's fucked. Kinda like the shapeshifter Hughie/Annie thing. When it comes to it, you can't tell if they are in the fault or not. Should've Hughie known? Was it REALLY Butcher? Tumor does the fucked up shit and Butcher gets the blame, lose-lose.
Kessler (the tumor) said all the things that Butcher would've said in Season 1. He's just returning to his old self
Butcher is the Punisher, and watching his powers reminded me when Punisher got his hands on the War Machine suit. Punisher kill's the marvel universe comic book this is why he has the virus to kill all super humans.
What's gonna make Butcher a great antagonist in season 5 is that he's not gonna stop at homelander. He's gonna go after every supe until there's non left, including the kids
Something to note, unrelated to Butcher: Tek Knight is probably still alive. We didn't see a body and it's fully possible he was spared by his butler as a manipulation of The Boys. The prisons (and consequent concentration camps) may very well still be a piece in this coming season.
You know what even more fkd up? When Ryan killed Mallory, they were the only one in the room. The cancer is specifically in the brain, and we know 1) that it can create hallucinations and 2) that it know the only thing keeping butcher good was hope in Ryan.
So, what if we see is from Billy's distorted (by the cancer) pow, and in reality Ryan cried in shock after killing Mallory? This little trick would 1) convince ryan that Billy now hates him again and blames him for an accident/defending himself and 2) that billy now believes Ryan to be just a mini Homelander, so fuck him and everyone: it's tentacle time.
Season 5 of The Boys is truly going to be scorched earth. The only characters that haven't been captured at the end of S4 was Butcher the guy who has every reason to kill every supe on the planet for wrong reasons, Starlight, a hero who wants to do the right thing but keeps doing dumb things that makes things worse, and A-Train who was a villain at the start but is having a really good redemption arc. They better not fuck up the last season because this just might be one of the greatest shows ever made IF they don't mess up how they end it.
As someone who didn’t watch the show but has heard literally anything about Butcher, like the guys name is Butcher, and he’s made it his lifestyle mission to murder super heroes. Or powered individuals, doesn’t make the life mission of murder really a good trait either way.
When Billy saw Ryan for the last time it really pushed him off the edge.
He doesn't have venom powers. He became a BOW from resident evil
he has jackie's powers from the darkness games.
Wow I sure am looking forward to watching this new seson of the boys, I sure hope a RUclips thumbnail and title doesn’t spoil the fucking climax with no remorse- oh. ok.
The messed up part is I want butcher to live but that means he’s gotta be a monster if he disagrees or does something good the tumor pretty much says your done, can’t wait for the new season
if ryan didn’t do what he did butcher would still be good but im glad we getting comic book butcher now and I honestly wanna see him win have come to hate all the supes right with him
Because he's not the hero we deserve, but is the one we need right now.
He always had a hatred , he learned to put it away in a way , kessler/parasite knew what he really wanted
Butcher was always upfront about his goal. Even starlight who was supposed to be a good supe has been exposed as a less than ideal supe. Trying to avoid RUclips censorship. Butcher is a supe now so him using the virus affects him too. He believes in what he believes and he’s not wrong. He’s the hero.
He’s a villain that you agree with. Lol. Not a good guy doing the right thing, two completely different things

I wanna know how sage 'knew' newman would get killed (especially if she knew it would be butcher)? She's smart, not psychic... hopefully, they address that.
She should’ve just Said that she didn’t knew But found a Way to use it to her and Homelander’s advantage
I'm expecting the final shot of The Boys to reveal that Hughie also has a Temp V Worm growing in his body
That would be kind of stupid no offense
@@Larboga Why? Because he isn't dying from using Temp V.
@@trevturp6891butcher stopped hughie from taking the 3rd dose which caused health complications in butcher’s case. At first, I thought hughie’s mom was a hallucination. But I don’t think they’ll give hughie Taylor durden lore and the explanation for that could be that he didn’t do as much temp v as butcher
I don't think he's going down the comic book route or that he will be the final villain but it is poetic.
Now, i wouldn't assume he's a full-blown villain more of an ant- villain. He's more like joel from the last of us. He is a tragic character who lost so much and only has one final shot at redemption and refuses to let anyone take that away from him.
Also, he's made a promise. And when it comes to this, that requires sacrifices. So he sacrificed himself for his promises to Rebecca. Even if that means becoming the very thing he hates.
Now hes more ruthless than ever and love how they used the ghost he sees to reveal his depravity.
Butcher will probably heroically sacrifice himself when he realises he's become what he's fighting to eradicate, probably saving the Boys and taking down Homelander at the same time.
Now, a few problems with that reveal. The first is why didn't Neuman just pop his head? There were several times she could have popped heads to solve problems in season 4.
Also how didn't Ryan realise he was entering a super secret and secure unit when going in to see Butcher in bed? Like how did he get in and be totally oblivious to the building?
Oh man i need to stop or this will be a 6 part epic novel of plot points
I don’t think he’ll be a full blown villain yet, Ryan is still around to possibly pull him back from that outcome. This season Butcher has actually been unlike himself, everyone is saying kessler took over but really it’s just Butcher fully embracing and committing to his core ideals, to how he’s always been. This season he’s been trying to find a different way, trying to be a different man for Becca and Ryan’s sake, a better man. His health has been a metaphor for his loss of will to fight, he was coming to terms with the real possibility that he was going to die, going to lose and maybe that wasn’t such a bad thing. Then with the turn of events that took place with Ryan and Mallory, he gave in and reverted back to his original personality and motivation, killing all supes, no exceptions, no mercy, no deals. I doubt butcher will survive the last season, but I believe there’s some hope that he’ll make the right call in the end, honoring the promise he made to Becca to keep Ryan safe. This has been one of my favorite seasons of the boys because of the care they gave in developing Butchers storyline, he will no doubt go down as one of my favorite characters in all media, alongside the likes of John Locke and Dale Cooper.
Like Walter white, butcher broke bad!
Butcher wasn’t always a villain.
Before the incident with his wife he wasn't
While I definitely see your point of view ”Neuman was useful because she could have testified” but how in the heck is she supposed to be trusted? She could have just been pulling them in close just like she did before. Just as easily as she could testify she could also turn on them in 1000 different ways.
We all knew Butcher was gonna break bad. It was never a matter of if, it was when.
this video is definitely not monetized 💀
Well looks like we found our venom of the universe
he’s the hero to me
BRO COULDNT WAIT FOR HIS MANSION TO BE BUILT TO GRIND!!!!
Well the fact about this series is that there is no good or evil, its often gray
I disagree with you on Newman. The moment her daughter was threatened by Homelander and his minions again, she would've turned on the boys.
Guys, Rebecca consented going into the room first and going 3 hours with Homelander.
If Butcher dies fighting homelander, they will be wasting all his character potential
The final storyline of the comics is one of my favorites because of the twist that butcher is worse than homelander
Butcher should be added in MK1 to counter Homelander, but maybe in MK 13
really funny out best chance now is Ryan changing homelander’s ways
It's gonna end up very similliar to the comics for sure. Homelander dies not from the virus but probably from a supe, but the final villian is gonna be Butcher that will try to release the virus to kill all supes.
Butcher has had to wrestle from the start with not just how he treats supes, but what he thinks about them if he can't save ryan. butcher killing neuman like that is one of the darkest twists for his character. Ryan is a supe like every other supe. If Butcher can't save Becca's kid, and has to kill him in his view of what supes are "unaccountable". Killing neuman in front of her kid and his promise to neuman's husband the doctor, would bury this idea that he cares about ryan, or cares to make an exception.
It's one of the most twisted moments to me. "how can butcher be justified in killing a child?"
when he has "nothing" or "no exceptions" to who lives or dies of a race that is seperate from good people.
Absolute genocide and Racism. It's crazy to see this executed so well on a tv show, and is even darker than how ryan wasn't even past an infant in the comics.
I think the battle against his worst impulses is still happening. You compared Butcher to Batman, but really he's parallelling spiderman. The venom tendrils, a voice in his head that might not be his alone egging him on to act on his worse instincts? Also, the venom symbiote in the ultimate marvel universe was originally a cure for cancer.
I just think the struggle isn't quite over yet. There's going to be a church bell moment.
5:55 Missed opportunity to say "hide the Compound D"
I think nueman needed to die or else it would’ve been “bad” writing because since s4 ep 1 we know that their goal for the season is to kill nueman and prevent the assassination and they did it while setting up series finale so I think it was good.
Yeah Neuman was dead at the end of the season regardless, it’s good writing cuz they flipped it and she died under circumstances where we didn’t want her to yet. And they used it set up Butcher’s downfall which is good
I really hope they don't pussy out of making butcher the final villian like the comics
mam if newmann didn't die they could use her blood manipulation as virus infured blood bullets .
do think victoria might still be alive
Mari is still alive. She has blood manipulation too.
@@dariusporter358 yeah . excited for gen v season 2
the thing is butcher would actually take his own life to ends super all together
In my opinion someone is going to make homelander killing virus which will also put down Butcher.
This might serve as a parallel to X man as the story of why the genocide of supes/mutants might actually be a necessary evil
It’s crazy people were saying Butcher has changed to me butcher is the butcher from season one with powers the only difference from season one is he’s got powers that’s it to me
