I was at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee a couple years ago when one of the "Little Red Wagons" was being sold. Side note. talked to Bob Riggle "Hemi under Glass" and he was talking about how driving one of these wheel standers had gotten so much more manageable with the rear tire steering. For him, shifting a 4sp and not knowing where you are, trying to gauge off the other car, well there was a lot going on.

Saw The Little Red Wagon race at Great Lakes Drag Strip in Wisconsin. He was pretty much a regular there along with Don Prudhomme and Don Garlitz. Always had pit passes and it was so cool watching the team tearing apart engines so quickly

Wow, i literally grew up at Lion's Drag Strip and saw the little red wagon go down the 1/4 mile on 2 wheels. Was big for the times. We were there with the Butters/Jerard aa/fd.. i miss those days.😊

Just like the "Hemi Under Glass" Barracuda. There were several grand standers that did bumper runs until they became unsafe and were dangerous.

The first two LRWs were based on the the factory unibody with a tubular rollbar and modified rear suspension. After the wreck in 1975 the truck was rebuilt with a full tube chassis that placed the driver in the center of the truck. Chuck Swift's "High And Mighty" A-100 was a copy of the original. I've gone for a 1/4 mile long wheelstand in it as a passenger. No passenger seat, so I was sitting on a milk crate and holding on for dear life. Still one of my craziest stunts.

I seen this Little Red Wagon at the Harrisburg IL Drag strip . It's a little 1.8 mile but that truck would go from one end to the other in a wheel stand .

Time stamp 2:40-2:50 Never knew the winter nationals were held in Fontana, I know the first one was held in FL. in 1960 and the 2nd one in Pomona in 1961, and I thought it never changed venues since.
Time stamp 0:49-0:52 Isn't that a Army patch on his left arm , and I'm not sure if the US Marines ever wore berets.
