    OMG. Are you serious or, perhaps you're just trying to troll us? Your argument about the 70 hour power reserve is absolutely ludicrous. You must be the only guy on the Planet who thinks a 38 hour PR is superior to 70 hours. And the clasp, by the way it's called a T-Fit, is much better than the three holes the old clasp offered. I happen to own an ETA powered BB36, owned it for quite a few years now. That watch consistently runs around - 10 SPD. I also own a BB58 and a BBPro both, which have the in-house 70 hour PR, they offer far superior timekeeping. They both run around 2 SPD + -. For my money I prefer the five link bracelet over the current three link set up.
    Speaking of snowflake...

      All watch brands are increasing power reserve to 70 hrs or more. It's hard for the big media companies like Hodinkee that are paid by these brands to speak against what brands are doing. Only the small channels like mine can think independently.

    • @cleverghostchili
      @cleverghostchili Год назад +3

      @@QuartzCrisis it will only cause wear if you consistently don’t use the watch for 3 days at a time. If you leave it off a ln entire month you still only lose 1 day of extra durability, which I disagree with since you want your watch to be running regularly to maintain oils. But let’s say you are right about durability, it would matter if you consistently take off your watch for 3 days at a time versus your typical 2 days, let’s say every week swapping watches. This implies you want lower power reserve because you plan on NOT wearing the watch which is counter logic in your consideration for buying a luxury watch. Do people really buy a luxury watch and hedge on not wearing it? Also the benefits of not setting your watch as often outweigh the negatives. Regardless a penny for your thoughts

    The old model was basically a BB diver without the rotating bezel. Now it’s something much more special, the case is very similar an Explorer or DJ (no more slab). It’s a stunner, more dressy, which makes sense this Watch style, it still looks great casual dress but much better now with a suit. I picked up a 41 in Champagne, love it for my wrist size, everyone can find one which looks right for them.

    I agree with most of your points, I love my BB36. I don’t think the power reserve makes as big of a difference on wear though. Depending on your use case 70 hour power reserve is nice if it’s a watch you wear during the week, then it’ll still be running when you put it on Monday morning. I wear my BB36 on the weekends so power reserve isn’t as much of a concern.

    You’re wrong. Kenissi is literally in house. Tudor is the primary owner of Kenissi and the movement manufacturing is literally in the building connected to the Tudor building in Geneva. They got their funding and their technology from Rolex, Companies like Chanel, etc ate partners but they do not have the expertise like Tudor does. They do have the money which is what you need to do in-house well. Beyond this, Rolex is providing a counter balance to ETA which the SWATCh group has pulled from the the rest of the industry with destabilizing effects.

    Love your channel- but WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Everybody (except you apparently) appreciates a longer power reserve! I have the Black Bay 36 like yours and the same version in the 41 size. They have Sellita movements and are pretty good. I have regulated mine to 1+ second per day- but they did need to be regulated in order to achieve that accuracy. Also the movement is 'crunchy' when winding which is unpleasant to the touch. Sellita movements are just OK and probably well-priced to manufacturers like Tudor and others who use them. Also I had to buy an Uncle Seiko half-link to get my perfect fit on this version. I recently got the new Black Bay 39 with the Jubilee bracelet and new movement. It is not a downgrade as you suggest. It is very accurate, even better finished than the previous models, and a pleasure to wind and operate. Have you actually handled the new version that you are talking about? Get one in your hands and then make a video. I am a subscriber and enjoy your videos- you just went 'off the rails' on this one IMO...

    "..much, much better than the downgrade that they released..". Aren't esthetics subjective here? 10 vs 15 ATM is objective though, but most other CHANGES to the design = not improvements or downgrades but changes, are in my own favor. Also I have to disagree with the power reserve comment. It will wear more yes, but we are now absolutely splitting hairs on how to optimize the longevity in a movement VS. what is actually practical. Not everyone cares about wearing down a movement on a sub 5k€ watch during many years, if it brings them to use and enjoy it more. I feel like the whole angle on this video is too nit picky and elitist for someone interested in this series. You bring good points that you explain well, but put too much weight on those from your own perspective. Just my two cents, still appreciate the content!

    I completely agree with everything you said, except for one thing. There are plenty of cases where people have used the same watch for years without any issues whatsoever. This means they wore their watch daily and it held up just fine until today. Also, I believe that watchmaking has improved a lot, and the oils we use today are better than ever, which should further decrease wear and tear. Sure, the watch might experience a little more wear when idling, but I still think a longer power reserve is always a good thing.

    As for movements. I think the True-In-House is going away in mid-range. SG makes special movements for Longines, for example. We can see the growth of "In-Group" movement philosophy. Here's the same. True-In-House goes to the higher range watches. Finally, I like 2023 Tudor watches.

      39mm is too big for the simple 3 hand design like BB36, you want something more going on in all of that space. BB58 solves this problem because it has bezel. Also any chrono in 39mm wouldn't have this issue.

      @@QuartzCrisis actually you are right I have to change my mind, today I wore a 36mm watch I nearly forgot I had and it was great. What are your thoughts on the BB blue dial?

      @@marcoferay5751 nice! Try blue before you buy. Nice watch too, but you might be surprised by the shade of the blue they use in BB36

    I disagree with about 90% of what you said, it's actually laughable! This is evidenced by the fact that your watch's value is plummeting on the used market (opposite of what you said). I believe they call this "sweet lemons". Just because you have the inferior version, you have to shit on the upgrade. Every single one. Take off your shit-colored glasses and look objectively.

    Just found your Video today. And I had been happy about finding the old model. Now I was happy to find out about the new release with t-fit-clasp. Turns out, the Watch is now a blingy piece of sh@& and not a tool watch any more. 🫵🏻 You Sir, are 100% right.

      @@QuartzCrisis can’t justify that cost. I have daughters I would rather give the money to. Tudor. Ok. Just a nudge thing.
