If you want a Rolex, do not buy a Tudor as a settle. If you want a Tudor, buy a Tudor. Most people who have Tudors have Rolex anyways. After years of being a Rolex fanboy, I switched over to Tudor because I just like the design more now.
I like both, but prefer vintage Rolex and modern Tudor. I’m also worried about using a Rolex as an everyday watch, too much of a loss it’s lost or stolen.
It's beautiful.... might fit the spot in my collection for the "GADA" watch. The Jubilee with the T fit adjustment are perfect additions that just make the watch for me.
Just picked up my Rolex DJ 36 Blue on Sunday (Superbowl Sunday) from the AD, but have had my eye on this stunning Tudor, I love the snowflake hand and the large indices!
I purchased the BB 41 about a month ago,i really love it. I agree with the reviewer that the band could have been tapered more but that is the only thing that i see that could have been improved. I got the diamond numeral version, and i do recommend comparing them side by side. I was on the fence until they showed me the diamond version, then i immediately purchased it. They give the face some much needed pop in my opinion. The clasp really stands out as well, they did a great job on it which is surprising for a mid priced watch because thats where they usually take a shortcut. I give this watch 5 stars overall.
I'd say it's more DJ meets OP. It's OP sunburst dial/bezel with DJ "jubilee" bracelet. The previous steel bezel black bays were more exploreresque the the lacquer dials, specifically the black one
I owned the previous BB41, and I think this is miles better in every regard. Now that the Ranger exists I think Tudor was right to push this in a dressier direction. The bracelet looks top notch
I have the 41 in Champagne- love it, perfect GADA. Blows away Omega AT, better movement (faster second hand sweep), T-fit clasp, and slimmer. Compared them both and my wife agreed the Tudor is much nicer. I’ll get her one too at some point, Cheaper than AT too :-)
I am watch collector, I have Rolex Datejust, Yatchmaster , Daytona, Cellini, GMT and Date date, I have several BlackBays heritage divers, gmt, and just plain blackbays 41. My favorite watch is my Tudor chronograph white dial sub numerals chrono on black with black strap this watch is way too cool and my favorite for daily wear.
I tried on the 36 mm anthracite. Stunning watch with the perfect size, but a bit flashy for my taste. A 36 mm ranger would be the perfect watch I think.
I think this piece of art is brilliant. I have always loved the snowflake hand and the way it motions. The only con is that it's almost as the same price as the GMT and that's why I'm choosing the GMT. It might happen tomorrow.
Beautiful watch but damn that macro shot did it no favors. The handset had way too many specs of dust and debris on them. I get that you can't remove every tiny speckle of dust but for $4k you'd expect a little better QC than what Tudor is delivering here.
You could call this a high visibility Rolex Datejust which appeals to gentlemen of a certain age who sometimes struggle to read the time from a sunray Rolex dial - also ticking the box of a daily driver during the week where the odd scuff and scratch won’t hit you in the nuts as it does with the real deal. Home run with the T-Fit clasp and refined case.
Just picked up my Black Bay Heritage 41 a month ago and I'm absolutely loving it. But I'd be lying if I didn't cast a jealous eye at the guy beside me who picked up one of these.
Great watch. To me this would be a great first "true" watch or first "true great" Tudor. Whatever. I want one! But I have a 39mm Ranger, a Black Bay S&G GMT. But this model has that great Jubilee bracelet. It's almost worth the price just for that.
Great looking watch, especially in blue IMO. The polished bezel looks like scratches there will become very visible. Would have preferred brushed bezel.
I like the bracelet. I like the watch. I don't like them together. I think this would look much much better on the oyster style because it is a sports watch. And I HATE the fact that they made the black dial with gilt...I'm so sick and tired of that fad and can't wait for it to die out
I like the old version way better than this one. Smiley face, oyster bracelet, 150m WR. And it had a movement that could be serviced and regulated by any watchmaker for a very friendly price.
Hello! I have a small wrist, about 6.3 inches, and I'm thinking of getting the Tudor Blaclbay 39 S&G with the champagne dial; do you think it's too big for me? When I tried the 41, it looked too much for me, but the 39 looked great, but it was with the black dial; I haven't tried the champagne dial. I believe the dark dial creates the illusion of a smaller size. Thanks in advance :)
Was on my radar, but bought a FC high life world timer instead. No imperfections. Rolex and Tudor don't use anti reflective coating at all I think, which is a bummer.
@@Anonymouslyme1having owned the AT and tried on this Tudor many times, the higher price is worth it. Finish is better ,crown is more stable ,Tudor's crown is wobbly ,movement may be slightly better, better package as a whole.
@@Bredes1 I can categorically tell you there is nothing wobbly about Tudor crowns, I own a Black Bay Pro and and BB58 blue. They are as solid as the Rolex & Omega watches I own.
Many stated that Tudor lacks identity, on the contrary, they do. They are acting their weight as a younger brother of Rolex. That is their identity, we just need to look beyond that and appreciate them as well made watches.
I bought one with the anthracite dial. Very happy until I discovered the poorly finished and very sharp lug ends underneath. It was returned to Tudor who stated that there was nothing wrong with it as it was within tolerances. The dealer took it back and I purchased an IWC MkXX. A beautifully finished watch and a delight to wear. You could say that at the price, the IWC should be properly finished, but there is no excuse for the Tudor, my £300 Citizens don’t have sharp edges.
I did the exact same thing , bought a Mark XX instead of this. The finish on the bracelet was poor ,sharp edges ,crown was wobbly and felt like it was gonna break and the dial had dust/debris on it. IWC finish is miles ahead, crown solid and bracelet is the best in class.
The iwc looks better in every way except the dial to me. Expensive though. Disappointing hearing about the bracelet because that would be a reason for me to buy this.
I love this version of the Black Bay but the jubilee bracelet (as awesome as it is) is simply not for me. I wish they kept the option to purchase it with the oyster style bracelet. When I was still inexperienced with watches, I thought the OG Black Bay 41 smooth bezel would be my grail watch. Once I owned one I loved everything about it except that it was a little too large for my 6,5" wrist so eventually I ended up selling it. I did try the the 36 mm version but that was too small. I got so hyped when I heard they released a 39mm variant but the hype quickly died down when I saw that it only came on jubilee. Even though it is not for me the update is still amazing so kudos to Tudor for that :)
Date Just? There is no date! Isn't it strange how some collectors Won't buy a dated watch. Where as myself will only buy one with a date. I'm sure Freud couldn't figure out something from that!
I've figured out that you misunderstood the comparison to the Datejust. He was talking about its general appearance and not any particular complication.
What Bruce? So every watch you review is downgraded if not "Master Chronometer Grade" now? I was very happy with the ETA version of my "non chronometer, non master chronometer" Black Bay Diver that ran 4 sec fast every day. Master Chronometer my ass! I care as much of Master Chronometer as a care about the 4th Moon off a planet in a solar system 50 light years away. Get it together!
Tudor and that hideous snowflake. Their next update will be a Mercedes hand. Rollie will green light it. The moment that knock off of a longines hour hand is banished maybe Tudor's dismal sales will improve. Instead of being available at Ads it will be sold out everywhere. 😂
Tudor got lazy and is just resizing the same old boring stuff again. It can and should do better. Better off with a Longines- they are the most improved brand of 2023.
Agree it's a nice watch, but it's ultimately unsatisfying somehow , balls to this symmetry debate -if this is going to be your daily driver it needs a date , it just does. I sold this watch because of it, and it just lacks something , being really special a bit middle of the road perhaps no identity or doesn't have a lot going on for me, otherwise , it's a solid watch just not that exciting .
Yet another Tudor release. Heavily inspired by Rolex, thicker case and the feeling on the wrist is just worse than Rolex's counterpart. Not a bad buy but I can't imagine someone picking it over a DJ/OP if waitlists/money are no object.
I'm not sure I understand. The snowflake hands and Black Bay dive watch dial on a non-dive watch is pretty uniquely Tudor. I don't love this watch, but Tudor described as soulless seems odd to me. Tudor these days couldn't be confused for anything else in my opinion.
I think this one is a home run and massively underrated.
Home run indeed
I’m from Europe. What does home run watch mean?
I went to buy a black bay pro last week but came home with this one. Love it.
How much?
I went to buy a bb54 and left with this 😂.

I agree, if you want a Rolex. Save and buy the one you want, you'll only regret it.
@@aljack1979 Agree on all points. If you're gonna go Tudor you gotta want it for what it is. that being said.... there's a whole lot to love here.

I agree. I bough tudor because i like it and i have rolexes and tudors too
i think the 39 mm fits me better than both the 36 and 41 if a datejust 39 is ever produced i might buy that instead
Man i wish they kept the fully brushed oyster bracelet option, it would look so understated and beautiful
My wife has the 36mm. The blue dial is stunning!
I have this with the anthracite/gilt dial. Very warm and versatile. Absolutely love it!
Congrats!
It's beautiful.... might fit the spot in my collection for the "GADA" watch. The Jubilee with the T fit adjustment are perfect additions that just make the watch for me.

I love it!!! Owner for 5 months now
Tried out the 36 and it was objectively great, but it just left me wishing for a return of the Prince Oyster Date.
I just bought one - it is so good and awesome value for money.
i would love it if they made a fluted bezel version of it.
I bought it as soon as it came out, it was love at first sight, 2 months of waiting, the 39 mm is a must have 😍🔝💪
I love this apart from one thing - the bracelet. If it had an oyster style, I personally think it would look so much better
Love that blue dial.
I've been loving my BB 36 champagne for a few months now. Could be my exit watch. ...I hope.
I bought this watch this last weekend!!
I wish they would keep the oyster style bracelet option. It would definitely dress this down for people who don’t like the jubilee.

I just bought this bracelet for my black dial black bay 41.
Not mix of Explorer and Datejust but OP and Datejust. Possibly the best watch at this price point.
Cool watch 💙
Very nice!
What does imperfections on the dial mean. Please do clarify in future.
I prefer Tudor to Rolex and yes I've owned both and both are awesome I just prefer the Tudors these day's

It is a close match up between this and a silver/blue Aquaterra. Omega is by a nose on the last turn!

Yes, the only one that matters haha the hour hand
is that the SEIKO SRPE35 on a Jubilee? Sure looks like it
