GARMIN XERO C1 PRO CHRONOGRAPH ▪︎ IS IT REALLY THAT GOOD?

  • I've been running this little beast for the last few weeks. Shooting everything from my .22 calibre air rifle up to .308 centrefire.
Measures speeds from as low as 100fps all the way up to 5000fps
It hasn't missed a shot so far. Makes tuning an air rifle a breeze.
Definitely the simplest chronograph on the market in my opinion.
It just works, what more can you say.
Sporting an internal rechargeable battery, the device charges quickly via usb C. Battery life is good for up to 2000 shots or approximately 6 hours.
It has an IPX7 water-resistant rating and is compact enough to fit in your back pocket. The Xero can also be paired with the ShotView smartphone app to track your shots, measure deviation and more.
Ordered my Xero C1 Pro from team at Hunt The Night, next day delivery, great customer service and competitive price.
Feel free to shoot me a message or leave a comment if you have any questions.
Thanks again for watching. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for the review. The beauty of the Garmin is the small footprint and ease of use. At the range, side by side with LabRadar, the Garmin produces virtually identical results. Seeing fewer LabRadar and Oehler chronographs every month. The unit is a steal at this price point. Cheers.

Whoa! Pricey but the fact that it calculates kinetic energy along with its size and great display really sells it for me.

Looking forward ro replacing my Labradar with one of these in the future. Nice and compact. My Labradar has about a 70-80% reading on shots, so this thing is clearly an upgrade.

It is really expensive, but i can see a number of advantages:
-saves tons of room in my range
    Bag
    -no cords
-no rods, shades or box to get shot
    -works rain or shine
    -better data capture
    -negligible setup time
For those who reload, it’s a great set of features

So how do you know who truly makes the most accurate Chronograph? Is there an independent resource that tests the accuracy of these devices against a known standard or is it left to the manufacturers to create their own test results?

Not sure on the mid range air rifles as I've only ever used the FX Impact M3.
Maybe look at the crown or dreamline series.
As for scopes. It's impossible to go past the new HikMicro Alpex 4k Infra-red day night scope.
      Where are you based mate.

I have never managed to get my 22-250 up to 5000 f/s so that should work.

"OUCH" at the price. That's up there with the radar chrono (LabRadar I think it's called). There was a time I 'almost' considered splurging, but any obstructions (in my case, a target tree at 25yds) can render them ineffective.
I'll give it more thought if I'm ever re-employed (I'm a casualty of the covid malarkey - I thought it'd be over by now).

RJM Hunting Australia, I’ve tested it with a Crosman Pumpmaster 760 4.5mm bbs/pellets, Glock 18C airsoft 6mm, Sig M17 airsoft 6mm, Crosman 1911 CO2 with 4.5mm bbs, Sig P365 CO2 with 4.5mm bbs, Daisy Red Ryder 4.5mm bbs and wow it works great. It won’t read a Nerf gun but it works great. Still yet to test it with some firearms with different barrel lengths in various calibers but expect it to perform great at the range.
Here’s the ballistic data with those air guns:
Crosman Pumpmaster 760: 330 FPS - 550 FPS with 4.5mm bbs ranging from 3-10 pumps
    Daisy Red Ryder:
    254 FPS - 258 FPS
    Crosman 1911 C02:
    385 FPS - 402 FPS
    Sig P365 CO2:
    199 FPS - 342 FPS
    Sig M17 airsoft:
    294 FPS - 325 FPS
    Glock 18C airsoft:
    294 FPS - 320 FPS

@@RJMHuntingAustralia one of the things I like about it was the app because I could have all that ballistic data all at the tips of my fingers. That and size of the device is what sold me on the purchase. I have seen people use the Caldwell chronographs as well the LabRadar chronograph and those devices look super bulky and
work to travel around with. Not so much with this Garmin chronograph.

@@RJMHuntingAustralia what’s your thoughts about using this with 50 BMG rifle? I’ve shot one and the concussion is pretty high and I was thinking that the blow back from the explosion is enough to knock over the chronograph with how you have to set it near the gun. So would you say this is what would happen? For clarification I don’t own 50 BMG and have only fired one.

    • @RJMHuntingAustralia
      @RJMHuntingAustralia  3 месяца назад

I don't own or have access to one either mate. I'd say it would likely blow the Garmin off the bench 😅
