- Winter lambing protection.
Foxes were the target species this trip with thousands of lambs being born. Shooting some feral cats was a huge bonus as we all know how devastating they are to our native wildlife.
Running the Sako 85 bolt action chambered in 223. Southern Cross Small Arms Q2 suppressor and ADI World Class 55gr ammunition.
Thermal equipment used this trip was the Pulsar Helion2 Pro XP50 • Pulsar Trail2 XP50 LRF thermal scope • HikMicro Panther PQ50L LRF thermal scope and the NightRide Scout 19mm 640 remote control roof mount.
5 properties covered over 3 nights saw 36 foxes shot. Be back down in another few weeks to do it all over again. Big shout out to my offsider Ian for the help and great company. I generally run solo so it was great to be able to share the experience with a great mate. Развлечения
I can understand why most people not from Australia (America) would be upset about videos like these but having friends from Australia seeing from their point of view yeah feral cats are a huge problem for a lot of the wild life across Australia, Keep up the good work protecting the wildlife and farm animals one pest at a time, also lovely marksmanship!
Much appreciate your positive comments. Thanks 👊
Unfortunately cats are a lot of fun to shoot lol! We've got our own feral and destructive critters here.
They certainly are. Always an added bonus when you're out hunting and cross paths with a feral cat 💥👌
As an Aussie I thank you for the great job you are doing.❤️
Really appreciate it. 👍
The exceptional care you put into your shots, and also the care you show for the farmers and their land is really inspiring. I'm from the US myself, living in a rural area, and there are plenty of people here that I'm not so sure would be as mindful as you are. I'm happy to find someone with your level of skill and care, and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
Thankyou mate. Shame I don't live a little closer 😕
Great work mate. Nothing I enjoy more than a feral cat through a rifle scope as well. Australia is thanking you for every shot.
Cheers champion 👍
You could shoot the sheep too as they’re introduced and terrible for the Aussie bush land and native animals.
Peanut
@@RJMHuntingAustralia detached from reality you reckon? The multi million wool and lamb trade and their land management would probably have a few facts for old mate.
I reckon you're spot on there mate 👌
Great job mate. Especially knocking over that fox on the run. And have to admit. The good cat is a dead cat 🐈
Thanks mate. Always good to smack a few cats. 👊
Tawny Fragmouth's are part of the Nightjar family of birds - awesome creatures. Pairs seperate when feeding and when they again unite they purr like excited cats - amazing.
Heaps of them where I live. Very cool to watch. Incredibly camouflaged when sleeping during the day.
You are going a great job out there champ. By the looks you are most satisfied when you get the feral cats. Cats don't even have to be feral, they are born hunters, someone had one that used to come to visit us all the time and in one occasion I've seen him jump up higher than a meter and with only one paw grabbed a bird.
Very effective hunters aren't they.
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Unbelievable these cats, even though I prefer dogs for what they are and loyalty.
Very nice shooting especially considering some of those distances and an awesome running shot. Plenty of practice and experience making it look easy which it often isn't.
Much appreciated buddy 👊
Heartiest congrats on your vermin eradication efforts.good luck to all!
Much appreciated mate 👍
Well done cobber. So good to see you put them foxes and cats on the ground. Keep at it mate.🤠👍
Cheers mate. 👌
Wow, great shooting. So therapeutic 😌 5:01
Cheers mate 👍
Great shooting mate, tawny frog 🐸 mouth, beautiful native bird , feral cats are killers of our wildlife. The dog foxes wow huge and the incissor teeth on em, great filming mate, luv your channel 😊👌👍
Really appreciate it, thanks mate 👊
That blur slowly making its way to cover up the blood made me laugh, lol. Good shooting
Haha. I did try to keep the anti's happy. 👌
@@RJMHuntingAustralia valiant effort lol
@@RJMHuntingAustralia makes you wonder why they watch!
Gives them something to whine about. 🤷♂️
Ken good shooting mate. Explanation of ammo is brilliant, not to mention an amazing compilation
Cheers buddy 👍
Excellent shooting. The .223 is perfect for the range and foxes.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✅✅✅✅✅
100 % mate. Love mine
Those feral cats are Huge and very well fed by their condition 😊
Fattening themselves up on our native wildlife 😪
Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, you got a couple of cats, well done bloke.
👍👍
Haha. A welcome bonus. 👊
A solid hit on a cat at 150m...you are simply an incredible shot!! Another great vid, and I really enjoy the bonus of a nice sunrise. Cheers!
Thanks mate.
All in a nights work. 👌

@@RJMHuntingAustralia yeah ive seen on the uk news you’ve had a fair drop of the wet stuff
Sure have. 😒
Nice to get rid of those wild cats & Foxs.
It brings me back to those very cold night freezing.

That is just incredible shooting once again. Great to watch.
Much appreciated buddy 👌
Another top vid mate and no Hollywood or kfc to be seen anywhere😁
KFC may or may not have been consumed on route to property. My lips are sealed. 😌 😂
Nice shooting I bet the farmers happy
Yes, very happy mate. 👊
bloody great video, love seeing feral animals getting a touch up, keep em coming.
Thanks Jeff. 👊
I'm not an advocate for hunting for pleasure only but you are doing a worthwhile job.
People have to remember the damage that invasive species do.
Thanks mate. I appreciate that. 👊
❤ Thanks for taking me along . I enjoy your adventures. 😊😊
No worries mate. 👌👊
Thankyou
Nice haul Rod👍
Thanks buddy. Happy farmers all round. 👊
Great work. Love seeing the ferals get it, especially the cats
Generally the highlight of my night if I get to shoot a cat or 2. 👍
Great work. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 👊
excellent
gotta be satisfied
well done on the long shots
Always pleasing to get good results for the farmers mate 👌
Great shooting yet again and a brilliant watch as always 👏 👌
Thanks for that Dean. 👊
Excellent video, thanks for your efforts !
Everyone in this country benefits from your work, and very few actually appreciate how cold and hard it can be.
Cheers
Thanks mate. I definitely has it's moments but fortunately I love what I do. Appreciate the positive feedback buddy. 👊
Damn, saying g'day and sending a .223 into a fox's heart from a few hundred metres is as savagely Aussie as it gets. Keep up the RUclips stuff. Excellent content--just need the right sponsors. Hell of a showing for that rifle and ammo.
Much appreciated mate.
Thanks 👊
nice work lads
Thanks John 👌
Awesome marksmanship. You do make it look alot easier that it is in reality.
Thanks mate. I've worked hard on being able to get the job done as best I can.👌
Yep..heck of a shot.
Great shooting.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video, share it and taking out the pests.....
My pleasure mate.
Thanks for watching 👊
Great work mate! 👍
Thanks champion 👌
Some might fine shooting there Sire, specially to fox on the run.
Thanks buddy 👊

G'day and goodbye! Great shooting, and cats out of it a wonderful bonus. Regards....
Cheers mate 👊
EPIC WORK MATE!!!
Thanks buddy 👊
Love when you say GDay and he looks right at you and by by
Gets em every time mate 👌
I loved seeing your Sako rifle. I had them in a couple of calibers back in the 80’s. The palm swell and cheek weld was the best in the market at that time. No other rifle maker came close.
With quality hand loads they were sub MOA rifles with five shot groups consistently.
Expensive but worth it. Great shooting as always. Thanks for the great video.
My pleasure mate.
Love the Sako's.
She's never missed a beat 👌
Excellent marksmanship! Not only does this help domestic animals, but you're also helping Australia's unique fauna to survive like Bilbies, bandicoots and a wide variety of other mammals and songbirds. Cheers!
Appreciate that mate.
Protecting our natives is definitely what it is all about. 👊
Great video as always mate! Keep getting rid of those ferals 👍
Thanks mate. Will do. 👊
Excellent video top shooting 🇬🇧👍😎
Thanks Phil 👊
Rod you have really dialled in that Sako mate, she is deadly accurate even out to 500m as seen by that bit of magical on the fly hit....... gorgeous piece of kit I must say !!
Thanks mate. My favourite rig by far. 👊
Those dead lambs represent about $800 loss. Great work taking care of business.
Significant losses can be crippling for the farmers. Makes what we do so important. 👌
Bloody nice shooting, appreciate the cull, I've personally seen the carnage foxes can do, perfect and thankyou 👍
Much appreciated Irena 👌
Another great vid mate thanks
Your welcome Paul. 👊
You are a very fine rifle shot sir..... Love the night vision gear... just the duck's guts for your work. Nothing like it existed when I was afield back i the 60s, the best we had was a red tinted spotlight.... OK (sort of) to 75 yards, but that was about it. I like your tripod mounted rifle rest... just the job. Great video... 🙂
Thanks very much for the support. You're spot on, how things have changed. Better spotlights, high powered torches, night vision and now thermal. Definitely need to be decked out now with all the gear. Gonna need a bigger truck. 🤦♂️
Ex farmer-- I have seen that thousands of times as well just biting off the lower jaw to just eat the tongue...They still make me angry..
Was a first for me seeing just the tails missing. I know foxes sometimes have a signature style to their kills however I hadn't crossed one doing this before. 🤷♂️
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Another thing concentrate on the maiden ewes---they have no courage compared to older ewes and so suffer higher mortality rates..
Yep, depends which mobs are lambing at the time. Focus is generally on the most vulnerable.
Well done on the running fox
Thanks Steve. Was pretty chuffed with that one. Practice pays off sometimes 👌
An awesome video mate, thank you and well done.
Geoff. UK.
Appreciate the kind words Geoff 👌
Talk about the farmers friend. Great channel, thank you.
Much appreciated mate. Thanks 👊
A great watch 👌
Some great shots there

@@RJMHuntingAustralia mate you just blew my mind. I've been battling cancer for five years and in my cancer group I call all members Champions. Thank you that made me smile Brother ✌️🤎🍄

Fabulous shooting, keep the videos coming I love to see the foxes and ferral cats drop as they are a nuicence to farmers and their lively stocks
Thanks mate. Will do 👊
@4:46 - wow, what a shot! ;)
Thanks mate 👊
Well done again Rod. All those foxes taken out is a great result.
Good to have you back.
Thanks champ. Good to be back. 😉
I’m used to hearing the bullet “thump” on hogs, but pretty impressive the sound that is captured on such small animals. Love it
Not quite the same as a 30cal slapping a pig but still rewarding none the less. 👊
Made much more noticeable because of the sound moderator… In the UK, where moderator use is considered the norm, we hear it on most shots.
Yep, so much more pleasant to shoot as well.
@@RJMHuntingAustralia Hi, although I live in UK, I have several Aussie friends who are also hunters/shooters. One of them sends me the SSAA magazine every month, so I thought I had a good idea of the norms of shooting in Australia. Two big differences seem to be that in UK we usually use support sticks and moderators. You are using both, which makes you unusual. Makes perfect sense to me (and its working well for you - well done... terrific shooting!). I was under the impression, and have been told by several of my Aussie friends that it was effectvely impossible to be able to use a Moderator/Supressor in Australia. Clearly this isn't the case, and i'm wondering where they are getting their information from because it looks to be wrong. Can you explain why this seems to be the case?
Your friends are spot on buddy. I am only able to use them as I am a professional contract shooter and they are for business use. Even then there was a heap of red tape and took nearly a year fir me to get my prohibited weapons permits. (suppressors)
Now I have to re apply ever 5 years to keep them.
Very Good work & thank you again !
Cheers buddy 👍
Lambs are totally helpless. Good on you Sir for doing this work.
Cheers mate 👍
Cracking freehand shot on the run . 👌. Another great video.
Cheers mate. Love to say it was all skill, a bit of luck helps too. 😉
