I grew up with wood heat in an early 1970's singlewide mobile home in the 80's. It worked great most of the time, unless it was SEVERELY cold, we're talking -15, which was thankfully rare in Eastern Kentucky. I think your chickens will greatly appreciate that little stove. Many old country stores in our area had those old pot belly stoves that heated the entire store. Made a great place for the old timers to sit around, whittle, and tell stories back in the day. I miss that. Love your vids, bud. From one First Responder to another, be safe brother.
Andy, the algorithm gods on RUclips and Facebook are kind to me with your uploads! That said, I've liked and commented on literally every video, even if it was just to say God bless you. I recommend that everyone that likes Andy does the same
7/8” roofing nails and a Michigan January is a bit more challenge than I’m currently looking for. Love your style brother and we will keep praying for more and more better days. ❤️🙏🏼
Love love love your videos. This one hits home cause I've been working on getting everything together to put a wood burner in my log cabin. I'm going to have a contractor cut the hole in my roof though! (For insurance purposes) Also I have a cathedral ceiling (1×6 T&G pine, insulating, roof decking, tar paper and then shingles. Really liked watching you figure this out!
Big fan. I've been following on Facebook for years and recently subscribed here. You have a great sense of humor and camera presence. I'm in southern MI and I love the UP. Snowmobiling up there is my favorite. I usually ride out of Seney and would love to meet up sometime. Keep up the videos
I believe code for chimneys in my area is 2' higher than any roof or peak in a 10' radius. It prevents wind from "back drafting" down the chimney and promotes proper upward draft. Just saying, im not a professional hvac or chimney guy at all.
I have a very similar stove in rougher shape and I've wondered the same if it was meant to run off coal and then wood. I have mine on a porch and will be doing a similar setup to yours. That way when it gets a roof in the future it's good to go
Good evening from Cape Cod ⛵ I've installed several wood stoves and been heating with wood for 40 years, I think you did a fantastic job with your installation Andy 💯 keep warm and keep an eye on your wife acting all silly over there 😂✌️🇺🇲
We just sold our home and it had a pellet stove in it , one of my friends installed it . The fire dept came in and did an inspection and didn’t say a word about it . There were more interested in fire alarms and if the furnace was up to date
Chickens have survived winter cold solo for millions of years. Put that classic wood burner in your house! Better yet, do like I've done and build a rocket mass heater that burns 1/5th the wood for the same amount of heat produced. I got around building and insurance restrictions by building the actual heater OUTSIDE and pumping just the heat into my dwelling.
Hey Andy: Great job with the stove/stack installation! We need to talk insulation... I have some Ownes Corning 2" r-10 you could have, along with some r-30 fiberglass. Former Coasties should stick together! Steve on Bonnie Lane, (the trailer fire that youbresponded to a couple years back). You know where to find me!
Sitting by my woodstove in my garage watching you install your woodstove in your chicken house. All is right with the world. PS what does blue taste like? Asking for a friend.
Dude, you crack me up no matter what you're doing. We just did a wood stove install on our cabin, too. Check us out if ya get bored! Thanks for posting your hilarious content. We always learn a thing or too.

No matter what you figure it out. You’re the man Andy! I’ve done a lot of up to code “illegal” work on my house too and it works fine.

We usually use 3 self tap pan head screws to hold the pipe together and plumbing strap inside to studs to hold pipe from moving
Great work! I'm sure the "chickens" will like it!

Yeah, there seems to be quite a bit of code variation. Idk I'm happy with it and I think it will work
Glad to see carlos is doing well... keep it up andy
Looks great, you should add a heat reclaimer box with a blower to reclaim the heat going up the flue.
Frick'n love your channel! So, wish you'd post more! Made my day!
Wood heat is hard to beat!
Thanks for your videos. Enjoy the learn as you go, attitude!!!
I make fire starters for my fireplace out of wax and saw dust. With your saw mill you have half or the supplies already! It works really well!

Looks like Carlos is feeling better
She has good days and bad ones. This day was good. Today's been rough unfortunately
@andyslittlehomestead6705 and still no idea what's wrong? Sorry none of my business
So glad your "chicken house' is coming together. Now that it has some heat Carlos can go full on Pinterest on it! 😅
You can only smell colors... you're fine... it's when you can taste colors is an issue 😊
I love watching your show.
Your "chicken shed" is looking good.
We just sold our home and it had a pellet stove in it , one of my friends installed it . The fire dept came in and did an inspection and didn’t say a word about it . There were more interested in fire alarms and if the furnace was up to date
Looking good mate. Didn’t even have to look for your video, RUclips had it pop straight up.
The internet robots must be happy with me. Lol
thanks for providing decent content.
Man them chickens gonna be living in luxury😂
Happy New Year to you and yours fine Sir ‼️ God bless 🙏❤️🙏
Gotta order a new hoodie from you guys, accidently lit myself on fire today while welding, stay safe, and be smart. Safety 3rd.
Excellent progress!
The chickens will love it! There is nothing better than family ❤😊😂
" I can smell colors now"😂
Glad to see you guys doing so well. How is your son doing with homeschooling?
Doing good! We also got him started with ABA therapy and it is helping.
Another project done. I hope you're doing well.
It's a coal "parlor" stove. Coal produces a lot of heat and lasts longer than wood. Look into it.
Thanks Andy, man,myth,legend!

Looks like it'll do a great job of heating the checking coop of that size
