    Thanks for the honest review. I'm retired and a much above average hobbiest body man and I have been interested in doing some light PDR on the side for friends and neighbors. I actually just today ordered about $450 of PDR tools from Amazon. My thoughts are that I will recognize what stinks and those tools I will replace with quality tools but for now I think I will be OK. After all, I have been doing PDR for years using whatever I could find around the garage, so this has to be a huge upgrade from that.

      @@jerryvikla3925 i hear you! When I first started, I was around some guys that were bending flathead screwdrivers, and shaving down the ends of them, and using those as brace tools! So it’s wild that a “cheap” set of tools from Amazon would have been a luxury set of tools back then! I really enjoyed doing this because I want to encourage guys and gals to get hands-on in their garage, and not be discouraged by how expensive Dent tools really are. That’s the business to be in, creating dent Guy tools! Lol! But with that said, I’m glad you enjoyed the video, I hope you have fun, pushing some dents in the garage! Thank you for the support!

    Hi there, thanks for the video. So, if most of the kits on Amazon are cheap and won't last where do more experienced pdr techs get their tools from? I looked on PDR Finese and see kits in the $3600 range. I've no clue if that's an expensive or middle of the road price. Would you recommend a couple 'decent' sets without breaking the bank and where to buy them? I'd rather not buy cheap ones from Amazon only to have to buy another set again in a month because the first ones broke or wore out after a few cars. Would like something that'll last a few years. Thanks again to all.

    What are your thoughts on DIY with a cheap "glue puller" for small dings? It looks so quick and easy 😅
    To me, it seems "safer" pushing it out to avoid possible paint damage

    • @legacydentco
      @legacydentco  26 дней назад +1

      @@JJK-le2yj you know what, it’s a natural thought, that glue pull would be the “easier” way of getting up dents. And it’s the exact thought i had when first starting in PDR. Years ago, when I had no car repair background or experience, I was discouraged at the thought of taking a car apart, just to get a tool behind a dent, and then pushing it! I didn’t wanna break anything or screw anything up. The problem is, the bigger problem really, I had no guidance. No formal training. And a good trainer will tell you, taking the car apart is actually a lot easier than it seems. And, you get into it overtime. But it’s the only way to properly fix a dent. Dent repair technicians or pushers first. You can’t push a dent unless you can get a tool behind the metal. And you can’t get behind the metal without taking things apart. At the time, not only was I worried about breaking things and screwing stuff up, but I was also desperate to create an income for my little family. So glue bowling was my first leap into Dent repair. This was a horrible mistake! Even if you do a dent or two at home, and not professionally, it’s important to know what a dent is. Metal has a structure of atoms on a ”sea” of electrons. Simply put, the structure bends, stretches, and energy radiates out from the center of the impact. Even on the smallest of dents. When you glue pull, if you don’t know that the edge of the dent has trapped energy, and then you go to put too large of a glue tab, there’s a chance that you will lock in pressure and complicate the damage. Without me risking boring you to death 😅, an easy way to avoid this mistake is to make sure to use a glue tab that is smaller than the dent. Make sure it clearly fits in the dent. If the tab is too big, it will not come up like you hope. I’ll do a video on it soon! I say all that, because understanding what a Dent actually is usually motivates guys to use glue pole as a secondary skill, not your primary. Understanding what happens when the impact on the metal causes a defect, open your eyes to the importance of pushing. I’ll make sure to add some tools in the video. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel! See you guys soon!

      Thank you so much for the info! I definitely look forward to your upcoming video. Subbed so I dont miss it
      We have 3 small, shallow dings in our 2020 Ecape's rear door. Man, this car is a freaking magnet for inconsiderate people!
      What you said makes sense... I will just remove the inner panel for better access. I have a good amount of mechanical experience, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm not on your level of body repair, though, so I'll be happy to get it close.
      I also worry that there is a chance that the glue may pull clear or paint off. Especially since we bought the car used, and I don't know if it had previous body/paint work in that area.
      Thanks again!
