Hi!! If you have a high spot and a sharp one, you can knock it down and at the same time press and hold it from the inside with a plastic ball !!! The result is easier! Good video!!! PDR is art!!
Thanks man, I partially started doing pdr on my car door after the corner of the door got bent, was able to bend it back but now I have a crown and just finishing it up. First time doing it.
Extremely cool I have a 2019 ford ranger and I put a dent in the back door with my shoulder trying to rock the truck because my door was stuck on a cabinet in my garage so now I’m going to try to fix it myself after watching your video you know they just don’t put the metal in these cars like they used to
Yes metal is much thiner these days then it used to be. However I must warn you that fixing dents is much harder then it looks so be careful as you can make it worse and harder for someone to repair it later
Without a doubt the best tap down demo I've seen. I've got a dozen dents on my car and I'm about to see how difficult PDR is. I feel much more confident on tapping down having watched this video.
Got golf ball size hail today, about 20 plus dents on my car. I ordered a keco glue pulling kit and keco fire knockdowns, I guess I'm going to learn something I never intend to.
I got all the large ones out and look very good now. Not quite perfect on all but good anyway, the smaller ones however, there is a lot of them. Something I'll work on in spare time, but don't have a lot. It is atleast way better now. I spent probably an hour or more per dent on the bigger ones. I can no longer tell where they were. 30 tiny dents that disappeared in the sun and reappear in the evening are going to take me a lot of time.

wondering where is a good point on the crown to start tapping down. in the middle or the edges f the crown and how hard to tap.. appriciate the help..And thank you for all of the info.
Last week my van was hit with hail and the insurance paid me a lot of money to get it fixed, so instead I bought a few pdr kits and working on the dents myself and already got paid to take my time and learn how to make these dents go away. This video really helped. I have used hot glue tabs to get the major dent out and now I have a smaller but still noticeable indent and I am going to try to knock down the crown around the edges and see if that takes the tension off the metal
Thanks so much for all the information and skills that you share! With small creases it looks to me like your knocking these down on each side at the the top and bottom of the crease to remove the straight lines and make the dent round. Straight lines lock in pressure where a uniform dent can be compressed while lifted up. Am I on the right path?
I bought a PDR kit years ago. I tried pushing out a dent but it wouldn't move one bit. After that I got kind of deflated. I never intended to make it a career but just wanted to accomplish it for my own satisfaction. I do still watch a lot of PDR videos on youtube just for the enjoyment but this video is the only one I've seen where you get close up detail of what is going on. Credit to you for that. It sure looks much easier then it really is. A lot is also about the tools you have. Anyways thanks for subscribing and if you will have any questions when you go back at it feel free to ask.
I am using dead on dent tool tips. A hammer is something light, nothing special. A paddle would do just fine! I change tips because different size gives different result.

The tapdowns are Dead on dent tools and are sold by Anson.
Do u heat up the panel to make it malleable before you tap down? thanks!
Hi Mark. I never heat the panel to do a tapdown.
In my experience heat is more to stop paint from cracking. You don't want the metal to stretch and thin out, that's a whole new problem
Can you do a video of tapping down the crown first before you pull out a dent please
