I am a beginner and I also arrive late at the right spot because the spot that I picked first wasn't the right one.
Thank you for watching. For moonrises, I use PhotoPils app on iphone. It has a one time fee but it's worth it in my opinion. I use that to find out where the moon is rising from different perspectives, placing a pin where I expect to be and then cross reference with google street view to see what the view will be. When you are on site, you can use the app for augmented reality that shows you where it will rise wtih the view but you need to be there first for that feature so that isn't as helpful for planning.
