Alien (the first movie) will always be my favorite in the series. It’s a slow burn and so well done. Alien Isolation, is still the best attempt at recreating the suspense from the movie
The first two movies are some of the best movies ever made, they are so good in fact, that they turned Alien into a billion dollar franchise, in spite of every movie coming after being mediocre at best and absolutely horrible at their worst.
@@Fanthomas1742 I wanted to comment, but tbh I don’t think I’ve ever seen 3’s assembly cut. I just know that I place Alien 3 below Alien covenant, all the way at the bottom of the rankings. I did enjoy the audio book for the alternate Alien 3 story (the way it was intended) it’s on audible.

Without doubt. Loved the other films, but Alien is without peer. Actually, scratch that, it has one peer, being Jaws. The two purest horror movies made.
I hope they make another game like this but improve on all the areas it's lacking, this game has some serious potential and it already makes you feel that suspense and tribulation that an Aliens game should.
Aliens is not only my favorite part of the series, but my #1 movie of all time! I can enjoy pretty much anything if it has the Alien in it. Hell, I played through Aliens: Colonial Marines multiple times and I will do so again. As long as Aliens Dark Descent is not a complete disaster, I will enjoy it!
Not surprised to hear it's buggy af after Aliens Fireteam Elite. I think it was stupid for SEGA to let their license rights to Alien and Predator to slip. They really had something going, at least with Rebellion's Aliens Vs Predator (2010) and Creative Assembly's Alien Isolaton. Focus Interactive (or entertainment, or whatever tf they're gonna rename themselves next) doesn't seem to have the best track record as a publisher and I'm wondering if their developers can pull off Aliens right. They don't seem to have the rights to Predator given there was Hunting Grounds (as a PS5 exclusive iirc) or a Predator Expansion for Fireteam Elite would've been a no brainer.
I appreciate the excellent review. I think the game is perhaps a masterpiece after playing it for about four hours. I find the game to be fun, addictive, engaging, and the story and missions and acting and weaknesses of the marines make the saga of the administrator and the crew of the Otago to be almost like reading a good book. Some of the gameplay is clunky, but playing it a while, solves a lot of the problems because you just get better and quicker and more precise with the controls. If they release expansion packs, I will buy them without hesitation. The implementation is spectacular. They invented an entire narrative style and gameplay mechanics, and they have done a hell of a great job. In a time when most video games for the hell out of me, this one holds my interest. My favorite movie from the franchise is without a doubt Aliens. I love the Action/Horror mix it provided with gung ho marines and scary xenomorphs. I had great hopes for Colonial Marines...well, we all saw how that turned out. Alien Isolation is probably the highest quality release in the franchise, but the constant run-and-hide gameplay just isn't for me. AA devs produce the most creative stuff these days. AAA focussed more on shareholders than gamers, and Indies are a usually too limited technically/financially to get really ambitious.

I just want an Alien Isolation sequel man 😬
If not Isolation 2, I'd love LOVE a new AvP.
There are only two acceptable answers to best movie in the franchise. Either the first one, for being the horror masterpiece it was, or the second for being the greatest sequel of all time.
Damn I didn’t know this was a point and click style game. I thought it was more like the ascent
Definitely a wait for a sale game for me or if it comes to gamespass in a few months
I would accept Alien Isolation 2 in Early Access at this point
Man hopeing this would of been better but maybe given time patches will improve ut.
Can we get a alien first person with like a dead space aesthetic.
AA devs produce the most creative stuff these days. AAA focussed more on shareholders than gamers, and Indies are a usually too limited technically/financially to get really ambitious.
Thanks for the review. So tempted to snag this game
This game is a masterpiece when it comes to following the ALIENS' mood.
Man, saw the first Alien movie in theatres during a rerun and that chest burst was UNREAL. Frick, it was a tense moment; everybody knew it was coming, but damn...damn!
Bruh my mom was pregnant with my older brother when she saw Alien in the theater when it first came out and she said she had nightmares for weeks that my brother would be a chest burster🤣
I didn't get to see it until it was on TV for the first time. Snuck downstairs and watched it in the dark. When it was over, it was the one and only time I didn't want to move off the sofa.
Everyone in the audience maybe, but none of the actors (aside from Hurt) were told what was coming, natural reactions, baby! Probably everyone knows this trivia already, but I still think it’s great!
Yeah I went to see a 40th anniversary showing and it was awesome. I was completely immersed almost forgot I was in a theatre.
@@Elwaves2925 HAH I remember that feeling after watching it for the first time too, damn face huggers
Great review! Something to take a look at on a sale.
great vid, but please upgrade your mic
Oooh…tough but I’m going to go with Aliens. Alien was better in a lot of ways but Aliens is so rewatchable.
In my top five all time along with Predator of course
@@Bust_A_Nut_bar of course!
Super informative! Were you able to beat the game or did the debuffs (or the enemies) overwhelm you?
I got the game installing at home can’t wait to give it a try when I get home from work
how are You installing it? steam says it unlocks in 2 hours
Trust me I was already waiting for it to drop to $14.99.
