I can relate to that feeling when a loved one tells u they got cancer..... this part touches me so much cause when my mom told me she got cancer it was like someone shot me in the chest ... she fought that stage 3 breast cancer off tho 💪🏽 it’s 9yrs later #thankful #blessed
Such a powerful scene, performed so perfectly by two young actors. It's too bad they don't give out awards for single scenes at the major award ceremonies. I know that they judge roles based on the whole role, but this scene alone made the whole movie. This scene left more of an impact on me then many other award winning movies.
The only movie I uncontrollably cried to, I had no idea why this specific movie but it deeply affected me. One year later my older brother died of brain cancer, I remembered the saying about pain "It was the great and terrible ten" and indeed it was.
they fucked up in dil bechara they just ssr is great actor but the movie is completely blunt and nowhere close to this epic movie.... It is just never will be a better version of this movie and these actors just killed it... Loved it watched it again n again still it kills everytime
It's crazy that she's suffered so much and the only time you've ever seen her anywhere close to truly broken is when someone who she loves is suffering. She's got some heart.
He says, "Apparently the world isn't a wish granting factory." but in the book this line is much more powerful. That's because Hazel said that once before and he's using her quote in his own way.
The Way he looks at her before she lays her head on his shoulder is so heartbreaking! He feels terrible to tell her this just when Things get real serious between them! 💔
This scene is a masterpiece. The way the music ever so softly rises while she's looking straight ahead and then just as she gives up her resolve and puts her head on his shoulder the music reaches the crescendo and creates this beautifully tragic moment. Absolute perfection!
this bench that they're sitting at was full of lovers locks, cravings, names on it because of this movie ♥️ i was sitting there too 2 years ago and wish to come back soon! Ahhhh i miss it♥️♥️
This kills me that people with cancer have to struggle like this! Why does cancer attack good people that want to be born and grow into someone that we can look back and admire? If any type of cancer was a person I would do anything in my power to knock them away from the people that deserve to live happy. Hazel is right...this isn't fair.
When I watched this movie for the first time I couldn't get it out of my head for weeks after- it's such a good yet tragic story. I remember my heart sinking during this scene, hits close when you've experienced this yourself.
They should've stayed in Amsterdam and smoked lots of pot. That would've certainly cured both of their diseases much faster than big pharma and August probably would've lived. In all seriousness, this movie was very sad and also lovely at the same time. It's kind of like Marley & Me in that sense.
He is there waiting for you and when you finally meet you'll know Wait Even I am waiting But I believe I'll find him soon Btw you posted this comment a year ago so you probably have one now
I love this scene so much bc the acting is just so great the way she just closes her eyes when he tells her what happened it’s just perfection and when gus(idk the actors real name srry) just tries to be his normal joking self even tho he is hurt is just great PERFECTION!😌
I was accepting the fact that hazel grace will die and this was a surprise and I cried ugly to this part and probably the highlight of this movie in my opinion
OMG !!! I really can’t find a single word to express my feelings, towards this movie. Actually, when I feel myself in the same place of Hazel Grace. I feel horribly scared. A young lady who never be destined to live a single moment of happiness one day. Each day is a fight with her fatal illness. Her dreams of being like any other girl of her age, seemed to be as if an unreachable star. During the whole suffering, she finally met the love of her life,. She knew the meaning of the happiness in his heart. She forgot for some while her illness, her suffering, and everything. She tried to cope up with him. But, life is not just as a wishing granting-factory. She lost him, and once again she became alone..... Shailene Woodley was extremely possessed by Hazel Grace. During the whole movie, she never gets out of the dramatic context. She acted like she was Hazel Grace..... Her pure tears, the sorrow that covered her face the whole movie, her voice tones which shocked by tears, her body language, the way she closed her eyes, her silence. Everything, was adapted so good by her. The movie, and Shailene Woodley, are both outstanding.......
I love the way she just closes her eyes, almost making it seem like a dream she wants to wake up from. Such a small action that shows so much emotion
Taylor Konop Girl, preach 🙏🏻
That's realization and resignation.
Shailene is amazing
And I loved the way you interpreted the scene.!!
From this scene on, without fail, I cry nonstop until past the end. Every time.
Me too. They are acting so...good, so natural
“Are you in pain?”
“No I’m ok”
That broke my heart he lied to Hazel to show his true love for her.

This is love worth dying for , with no games and shit but feelings.
The music here is so beautiful and really adds to the scene. Very well done.
How is the song name?

It's not fair. It's not just a movie, for too many people it's reality and I can't imagine how it must feel to lose the love of your life so early
