Wow, that 1901 with the aurora borealis is one of the most beautiful coins I've ever seen. That really made my night. Thanks for sharing!

Patterns are the coolest. Just when you think you're looking at a regular coin, BAM! A date that shouldn't be, or a design that shouldn't be, or an alloy that shouldn't be. They are super, super cool, and the ultimate variants.

I remember when Bowers & Merena auctioned the Jascha Heifetz coin collection; had so many pattern coins and Mr. Heifetz stated that he paid a huge price of $8 each for them in the late 1940s.

Hi Ben. I like that 1858 FE Cent Pattern in PR65. I would love to have a proof FE Cent in my type collection. I need one! I like the 1925 Peace Dollar in MS67. I love the toned 1901 Indian Head proof. It has fantastic colors that give it a cameo look. It deserves an OPC Owl Sticker. I like the 1889 IHC too.

I love CAC reveals and this one didn’t disappoint. I’ve had terrible luck with subbing NGC slabs that aren’t fatties; for the most part I now just cross them to CACG and expect a grade deduction (I mostly do this for fun since it makes little financial sense).
I’ve seen a lot of the Shepherd proof Indians and while they have loads of eye appeal a relatively small % of them have been CAC approved (and I suspect most have been submitted by now). I think the color is a bit too “extra” for CAC and this particular coin looks like it might have been MS70’d, which is automatically disqualifying for CAC.

Awesome coins. Do you think that coins with CAC stickers are getting more of a premium than they were a year or so ago?

Benny - I’ve looked and come up empty. Can you do a video on the details grades and how you price them flat. I just saw excessive corrosion. That’s new. Anyhow thank you for geeking on coins. Makes me feel like eating some nerds

    • @Cookincardsdude

Compared to flat grades . There are so many/ is it a spectrum? Is corrrosion better then cleaned? Is environmental damage better than harshly cleansed et al. Gracias

Hello , love your informative content. This video made me think , is there any way to determine if an indian cent is a proof vs business strike ? If an Indian was put into circulation and it still looks pretty good how would you be able to determine if it was a proof , thanks.

I'm kinda surprised that proof Walker graded PF68. I find the overall haziness to be distracting.

I was with...no let me rephrase that, I was "around" a few uppity collectors recently. I came away with the impression the bean was nothing more than bragging rights. Who had the most, etc. Their talk wasn't about the coins on the inside just about the numbers.
