I was given (by a friend I'm thoroughly unworthy of) a Milord, and I think that I'm just as happy to have the extra bit of celluloid running right the way down to the little ring at the front of the section-- extra visual treats! I'm in accord with the praise you heap and the light head-scratching over the lack of a window. Of course, a window would reduce the amount of celluloid available for staring at absently for hours on end....

When you brought tea onto the screen I checked my cup to see if I had any left....sadly there wasn't...oh well. Anyways geez that is one nice looking pen. Don't get me wrong, I have seen many other really nice artistic pens you have reviewed, but something about this one really catches my eye. Maybe it's the polygonal design mixed with the stripes.
Well I mean it's fairly obvious what catches my eye, the whole pen is a masterpiece.
Stunning pen and the Arco finish is a perfect match for that gorgeous ink. I've had my eye on an Omas for some time and it seems that the Milord may be a better match for those of us with average to smaller hands.
I've two older OMAS pens now (one in the stunning Arco finish) and they are without a doubt the finest pens in my collection with astoundingly smooth nibs. It's sad that the company is no more, but their incredible pens will live on.

Gorgeous pen, albeit well beyond my financial ability. The real note of interest though is that we finally get to see an example of SBRE Brown Ink in action. Very well behaved indeed. You can even see some of its shading characteristic in the "Hello" and your example of line variation in spite of it being a fine nib.
Any thoughts on further ventures? Fortune smiled upon me and allowed me to snag one of the very few bottles ever made and I AM enjoying it -- thank you very much. It would be interesting to see what you come up with next!
Currently, I really don't know if there will be another ink. I'm glad you're enjoying the SBREBROWN though :-).
Only thing i don't like about it is the actual color. Reminds me of a spicy wet poop.
Wow, lovely barrel finish and section... I can only imagine the price... ouch. I suppose we'll find out later in the video...?
Have you seen the Ogiva arco celluloid ? It's drop dead gorgeous.
I'm between Caran d'ache Léman , Visconti Homo sapiens , Montblanc Meisterstück and now this Omas but dont think its shipped to my country yet and thus having hard time to chose between them. I was hoping you could give me tips with your expertise i would be really glad . Also good channel keep it up the good work . P.s : i ll use the pen on my writings not only for signature or such
They're all nice pens, but all very different, so it'll come down to aesthetics.
+sbrebrown I want it to last long and in your Visconti Homo sapiens video you seemed very pleased with the pen but after in the comment section you mentioned you have sold it , that why i hesitate . It has unique nib but that may be a con in the long run that why i asked advice as you ve used it around 3 year i belive . Long story short which one would you prefer for regular use Caran d'ache Léman or Visconti Homo sapiens ? Also glad you answered really quickly

Oh and one question, is there a chance that your ink will ever come back? Just curious, because as you know it sold out almost as soon as it came out, so I'm sure many people, including myself, who were unable to pick up a bottle still wish they could have.
currently, there are no plans to relaunch the ink.
Will you ever share an inventory of your personal collection? BTW the arco brown and arco verde will probably go down in history as some of the greatest materials ever used in fountain pen making.

Great review of a grail pen for a lot of people including me. Stephen can you tell me if the arco pattern on this pen aligns every time you close it? I have a Milord which only aligns if closed in a very particular way.

I just read on the Fountain Pen Network's FB page: OMAS is closing. Have you heard about this?
+romanovitch75 I don't know more than others, but from what I have heard, it is true and OMAS is shutting down. Of course, that's what I heard, so it could be wrong. If it were true, it would be a terrible loss for the fountain pen world, I think.
How can I buy a Omas Milord from USA?
do you think the omas nibs, pre tuned from the factory, are as a whole better quality than their equals in Visconti.. ie 14 k vs 14k ?

Is it possible to tell whether a feed is made from plastic or ebonite just by looking at it? If so, what are the distinguishing features?
Yes, most modern ebonite feeds I have seen are more matte than plastic feeds. some vintage feeds are shiny too, though.
