I thought that you stopped shooting a video for fountain pen review. I am glad that you are back! I enjoyed watching your videos! Nice and quite entertaining reviews. I lately got a visconti opera elements after watching your review. Love the pen!!
Yes it came in Omas' iconic Arco brown with "High Tech" (silver) trim. I saw it in a magazine and had to have it. It's been my favorite pen ever since, and looks beautiful in my pen case next to Leonardo's Momento Zero Grand in Sand. I personally love the look of the metal section. It's a gorgeous pen in Arco and I enjoy the size and weight of it in my hand.
Just a note on reverse writing: I use fountain pens with fine nibs for drawing and then use the the reverse for finer details. Thanks for another interesting review. I enjoy seeing lovely pens that I probably will never own but can still dream of using.
Looks beautiful, and I do enjoy a smooth fine... I don't own an Omas yet. It's one of those pen brands where I just can't decide which model I like best! And all those limited editions are all so beautiful and tempting, too! Thanks for the review! That shop does sounds dangerous!
OMAS Paragon really nice shape, that F nib must be really good, liked your shoe box theory. I also got a shoe box with the Montblanc Moon Pearl really big and i special ordered a B nib which is the smoothest nib i have erver used. They did a really great job with this one.
My favourite part of this pen is actually the dual materials, having the metal section juxtapose against the bodies celluloid material. If you have any suggestions of other pens with the same design of different materials of section vs. body? Very nice pen and very nice review (as always). Thanks Stephen.
Great review. I own the HT version with B nib. This pen would not write when i bought it but luckily i managed to get it fixed. I was under the impression it had a silver section when i bought it but unfortunately its only the celluloid version that has that nevertheless its my smoothest writer and like you said it has no feedback whatsoever
Is the most personal thing. I've about a dozen, but only an OMAS model is really MY fountain pen.

what do you think of the Rohrer & Klingner inks? How do they behave ? Should I use it with a Pelikan M200 medium or a Parker IM Premium which is also a medium ?
By the way a very nice pen, though I fear its a little out of my pricerange.

I have only used a few R&K inks and I think they are nice and well behaved.

I have the same pen in wood, OMAS PARAGON ARTE ITALIANA LEGNI PREGIATI WOOD.
I found the front section can not be twisted off like the older version. Can you please tell me how to dissemble this pen please. Thank you.
Which do you like more, Paragon or M800? People say Omas has the best nib. My M800 in Fine is extremely smooth but it is nail with no flex. Paragon looks like a soft nib but not a flex nib. I am just wondering how Omas Paragon in Fine can be superior to M800 in fine.

Maar was ik juist met mijn bewering dat de dikte van de " Nib" enkel dient voor de lijndikte ? Alvast bedankt voor je kenners mening ik wil mij een Paragon aankopen die jij hebt gekocht bij Akkermann welke raad jij me aan dat wil ik weten
Hoe breder de punt, hoe dikker de lijn. Zoals ik schreef, een bredere punt heeft meer materiaal om te polijsten, met alle gevolgen van dien.
De Paragon die ik bij Akkerman heb gekocht werkt uitstekend en die kan ik dus aanraden.
I hope you dont mind but in Italian the accent on Omas is on the O' not the a' as you do!!!!

The nib unit screws out but the nib collars are extremely fragile, so you have to be very careful when trying to unscrew the nib unit.

Which Paragon is better, old-style or new-style (yours)?
I have both and like the old one.
While I still love your vids, please review some inexpensive pens too. I can't afford any of the pens you've reviewed recently. :)
Now that's one good looking pen! Congrats on the purchase.
I also have a suggestion: a NIB should meet also the requirement of STANDING ON THE AIR without cap for a reasonable time, say 15 minutes at least, and then resuming writing with no false start. IT IS A TEST NOT EVERYBODY UNDERSTAND how important it is. So , to sum it up, there should be three requirement test: 1) no starting issues 2) no skipping 3) endurance to open air without drying. 4) a good ink capacity, and the Paragon has a good one 18.15 ml - The PARAGON fine nib meets ALL THE FOUR requirements!!

Usually, more tipping leaves more to be polished and hence a smoother writing experience. However, given the smoothness of this nib, I expect no big difference.

Patrick Blindeman Sorry: doorgaans heeft een bredere punt meer tippingmateriaal aan het einde; als er meer materiaal is, valt er meer te polijsten en dan wordt de schrijfervaring dus gladder dan met een fijne punt, die veel minder tippingmateriaal heeft. Echter, gezien hoe prettig deze fijne punt is, kan ik me haast niet voorstellen dat een brede punt een betere schrijfervaring zou geven.

I sometimes think I should have bought a dozen "Grail" pens instead of the several dozen moderately priced and cheap pens I have bought over the past 20 years. The "Grails" are so elegant.
I know the feeling :-). That's why I'm selling off many modest pens from my collection now.

Ha ha nu snap ik het dus in feite de breedte van de penpunt Nib heeft niks te maken met de gladheid van het schrijven maar met de lijndikte die je verkrijgt als je schrijft is dat juist ? Want ik had een Visconti Van Gogh besteld met B Nib en inderdaad mijn montblanc meisterstuck schrijft gladder dan de B Nib en die was M ... Dus kan ik evengoed een Paragon bestellen met een M Nib ? Sorry hoor maar ben nog noet zo lang bezig in de wonderlijke wereld van de vulpennen maar het fascineerd me Wel
Het ligt er sterk aan hoe goed de punt gepolijst wordt.

+sbrebrown Unfortunately the article is in Italian. The owners are planning to liquidate the factory, maybe sell it. Some workers would like to buy it, let's see what happens.
