All these comments from people that have never seen a new Omas or used a new Omas...
I just purchased one from GS, and it's beautiful. I love my revived Omas as much as my old ones.
It's sounds like you would rather a brand die than evolve... I wish much prosperity to the new Omas!
How do you know all the comments from people that have never seen or used a new omas?
This is sort of a necro-post but I am very impressed with Frank and his knowledge about his products.
There is definitely something fishy going on here. Omas do not acknowledge this acquisition, so are these essentially fake Omas?
I call it fauxmas.
@@ironmic9244I knew I’d find you here.
I just looked up the OMAS website and as of October of 2023 Frank is front and center on their home page. These are not fake Omas pens.
hm, why is omas denying this on its website?
Exactly. This is not the real OMAS.
I just looked up the OMAS website and you are wrong. Maybe when you wrote this you thought you were correct. But no longer!!!!!!!!!!!! Frank is on their website. Front and center.
just discovered this, was it LIVE? I'm going to watch soon because I'm fascinated with Omas, the triangular shape and quality. One of my favorite cheap pens (yrs ago) was triangular and then I purchased a Cross Morph with the adjustable grip. My setting was the triangular setting -- still have it! I'll add more thoughts after I watch 🖋
Great conversation. Really enjoyed this program. Thank you, Tom.
How can they use the Omas name when it belongs to Ancora?
Great video! Love learning about the pens.
in the past OMAS Pen piston filler was terribly mess... What has been modified?
Shots fired at SCRIBO, but we all know the true successor to OMAS is SCRIBO. How could they have gotten anything from the company? Something just is not jiving here. Ancora bought the brand, would they not have the paperwork if any, would they really give up that info? SCRIBO would be the best place to go to. They knew the product, they built it. Something is not right here, because there are 2 OMAS websites. How can that be? This Paragon is not as good looking as the old one. And how much of this pen is really made in the Narwhal factory?
Of course the legal defense. The old OMAS is gone, then let it rest. Don't bring it back with none of the OMAS soul, all you're doing is deteriorating the name OMAS. Sorry but this is a joke. Guy may be sincere in his attempts, but I can't take this seriously.
Saw some of your comments in Figboot's Omas videos and weighing everything as appreciator of crafts and the attached name, as a younger audience peering into Omas like they have something fully different and can stand up on their own; this modern one feels bad in many objective and subjective respects... Leonardo brought affordability to bright acrylics that Chinese just couldn't do yet(probably never, like something is always off when people say Chinese pens are comparable and well worth the price, something-something soulless. Maybe exception to PenBBS), ScriBo has the Omas craft carried on over while making unique shaped barrels and nib stamps that go love-or-hate-it(Same goes to Dante Del Vecchio designs, some things might be a little crude at parts, but it has soul)
The Omas pens are being made on Omas machinery with Omas celluloid and Omas nibs, by hand, in an Italian factory.
Brands get sold... that's just a sad part of the industry. At least the new owners are trying their best to stay true to their roots.
@@vintageswiss9096 Nope.... I am sorry, where are you getting your info from?
Good to see Omas back 🎉
Very interesting video! Highly relevant comment section too, it seems.
Makes me think of the fictional character Lord Peter Whimsey: .”It’s not the brand that guarantees the quality. It’s the quality that guarantees the brand”. It’ll be evident in time to what extent the quality can guarantee the ”Nawalhur/Omas” brand.
I thought Omas was bought by the maker of Scribo Scrittura Bolognese
No they bought the equipment and are former employees. This is just a disgrace.
@ironmic9244 I agree. Frank said they basically grabbed the name of Omas. Plus, Omas website made a disclaimer concerning this company. I will purchase from Scribo these wonderful pens.
I had heard rumblings that Omas was coming back. Oh boy I thought great another great brand falling to a scummy super wealthy investor wonderful. BUT after hearing his knowledge of the brand, the tradition, the love of pens and respect of the craft my fears of a brand jockey sucking all the money on reputation (looking at you London Fog owners blech). I hope they do well and keep their word that they want to make the best pen possible, and mayhaps I'll buy a new one. I'm just so relivevd someone who gives a shit got their hands on the brand and will honor it for another hundred years
Sorry, but taking the name out of the fact that nobody was using it and became "public domain", makes not a legitimate heritage. For me, these guys are not the legitimate heirs of the legacy of a brand such Omas. Maybe their pens are really good ones but, beyond the legal right to use the name, they are not real Omas pens.
Is that what he meant by "no use clause"? They are using the brand as the legitimate ow ers aren't using it?
@@milchpuder that's what he said.
For Omas restoration service, where should the pens be sent to, as in which country?
Kinda makes like wour buying a counterfeit/fake Omas kinda feeling... That's feel I dont like.
Well come back to the fountain pen world 🎉
👌👌👌😍🍃
I thought that Omas was purchased by a European Group?
The OMAS brand was purchased by Ancora.
I'm sorry but Omas is dead. They may have the name, but they don't have the spirit.
Disapointing video, looks very much sponsored by Caltagirone, making the pen comunity believe Omas is back and getting money out of it. Omas is history. Scribo has the machinary, Ancora pens the brand name and trademarks.
