So the comment section has been buzzing with opinions. So we decided pull up the real numbers. The gen 2 busa which ran from 2008 until 2020 was the longest running gen of any motorcycle. And for good reason. This suzuki motorcycle has a solid track record with reliability and power. Now, with the ongoing changes with emissions, the Gen 3 does have a few changes that did take away some power, but that doesn't mean you can't make power with the new suzuki Hayabusa. Does the gen3 busa have smaller throttle bodies? Yes. But with the brocks performance camshafts for the Hayabusa, and a custom tune, you can easily pull amazing power out of this bike. When you look at the base graphs for the gen 3 busa, you can see where the power falls off at the very top of the rev range. This is due to the emissions. These types of things we can correct on the dyno during the tuning process. Another addition we did to this motorcycle is the brocks stacks, full exhaust and p08 air filter. This is also a great example of how motorcycles can increase in horsepower as the bike breaks in. We've done quite a few of these and every bike is different. These hayabusa dyno numbers are a little bit low, but we're pretty confident that it'll only improve with time!
Great job, great data, solid tuning! 👍🦾🫡🤜🤛💚💚💚
Apples for apples bro. Change the cams on the gen 2 before you compare it to a gen 3 that has a cam job.
Years ago my friends Gen 2 if I remember correctly. Alien head, power commander, degree cams put out 197 HP.
They are drop in stock cams
Exactly… This is not a fair comparison. If you want it to be fair, install a Stock Gen. 2 Intake Cam into the Exhaust side and Degree them in the Gen. 2
Unless you just want the cruise control function and updated electronics; a Gen. 3 Busa is pointless.
@@bacchusthompson5834 or you want a new bike, with a new look too lol
@@BOOSTEDH2 that too… You know people will start just swapping the Gen. 3 fairings over to get the look of they haven’t start doing it already
Gen2 Busa 181.50hp 108.72tq
MuzzM-10 , 4 short stacks ,sprint p08 filter .
Superflo dyno .
Gen3. I've owned all 3. I wanna see these R&D u have in mind. Good job
I think the biggest issue here is, as we all known, the Gen 2 haven’t been made in 4 years. How many miles was on this Gen 2?
And overall, with the amount of pounds the Gen 3 is, the Gen 2 is gonna be faster on the road.
This is definitely an interesting comparison tho.
Settle the argument, change the graph from rpm to time on the bottom and see which one actually pulls harder, as we know hp doesnt always transfer into quicker when yhe differences are small 😊 Keep up the great work, enjoyable to watch and would love to visit the shop next trip to Florida from Nova Scotia.
I'm confused when you compared the bolt on 2 to the 3 the 3 that was shown on dyno screen had the cams or it was a gen 3 w bolt ons only ?
Ported head cam's gen 2 ball part price please. Thanks
I have to ask but what is the point of comparing the power at higher RPM's on the fall off after the peak HP was achieved at a lower RPM? You will not see those "higher" RPM's in 6th gear attainable on the road as you will not pass the RPM the highest HP was coming down at. Whats the point? Also the Gen2 usually comes in a 185 as well but even this one given that the gear ratio is the same on both bike would go faster as it revs out to 300RPM higher than the Gen3 in 6th gear on the road. It would all come down to aero and the better RAM between the two.
U said the gen 2 is one of the best you made full bolt on….178hp isn’t a good number for a gen2 full bolt on!!!….mine with brocks alien head full exhaust sprint air filter short velocity stacks and ecu reflash made 190.5
I am very confused the bus’s come with 186 to 190 why are talking about 170 ish horsepower?
Crank vs wheel HP if I'm answering you correctly.
“Drop in cams”
Aren’t aggressive or race cams
Either
These are just drop ins
Do a roll race with two jockeys and now your done
U should do a video on why 1000cc bike's are faster than than 1300cc.
You need a video to explain to
You power to weight ratio? Lol 😂
@@JNAMOTORSPORTS SO 1300cc compared to a 1000cc is funny? Weirdo. Then why are most drag bike are Hayabusa?
They are most certainly not. You fight the wheelie and by the time you control it the big CC is gone. Also the 1340 has 50HP more at any given RPM on its range than a liter bike not to mention the liters torque tops out where the big cc starts. I have 80ft-lb from 4K and over 100 from 5-10K. Bike weights in at 490 wet. Only positive goes for the liter is that they have a much smaller footprint so they cut trough the air with ease above 180.
@@GerBeGurGya some Dino's say different. That why I asked them to do a video on it. And remember the only bad question is the 1 u don't ask.
Busas in general are weak sauce. Don’t tell them the reality of it though, they get all butt hurt. A stock zx-10 makes more power. Tuned, not even close. The only time I ever get a good look at a busa is if I turn and look over my shoulder… 😂
Ya know if I had to do it all over again I think I would go 1k, definately gsxr but I am a drag guy..
Most people don’t buy the Hayabusa to keep stock. Either the 1441/1570CC For all motor. Or the obvious countless companies that make turbo kits. Only thing that beat EJR’s Busa recently was a stroked GSXR.
@@Nitrous_Busathat’s the problem tho, busas and zx14’z need built motor it turbos to keep up with tuned 1000’s
Yeah, nobody cares.
Stop it!!! You not the fastest out there. I know a 70 year old rider w a Gen 2. You would be buying him lunch after he waxed you 🤣🤣🤣
