I don't think it's a good idea to use only these 3 compressors on a mix. 1. Build up of the same harmonics makes the mix muddy. 2. You definitly need a compressor with a faster attack time. For example to kill the transients of a sound that you want to place in the back of the mix. And to avoid transient masking.
They sound great. This tutorial would have been even better if samples could be level matched a little more. Also, starting from the bypassed state would probably help:) Anyway, thank you!
level matching belongs in the digital domain, analogue gear is running on circuits and electricity. the difference in sound should be perceived by your ears not your eyes.
Love these and the 1176s, but please, bring back the previous skins, they were way better...

Love all the UAD. I use all the Luna emulations and plugins. Just remember you will lose all the feeling in a track if you level everything too much. Listen and FEEL. louder isn’t better. We’ve all made that mistake. You are going to master your music and it will need some headroom & dynamics for an overall movement to the mix.
So is there away to link the gain reduction and the gain?? So we don't need to go back and forth with the mouse between the knobs. This is a must have in any software La2a. I mean, with hard ware we have two hands. They are literally built to be worked with two hands at once!! Will get if that's a feature.
I HAVE 2 UAD SETUPS . I USE pLUG aLLIANCE , Acustica, and Sountoys as well. I will never get rid of my UAD satellites. Waves come through as well but not like Plug Alliance, Softube and UAD . LA 2 a on string bass or synth bass is a beast for HIP Hop and EDM

Since the update, the UAD DAW plugin GUI for controlling monitor level etc is now massive, will there be the option to choose the smaller version if preferred? There doesn't seem to be a way to select a GUI size in Cubase 12, the Cubase option to "Allow window to be resized" has no effect.
This video is awesome but I wish there went more in depth on the technical differences. Only Universal Audio knows the passive differences that would come from using either of these and there has to be more differences between the 3 than speed. Is there a manual available for each?
@@Oscar-kx2du I'm curious what was the reason behind ruining great looking old GUI with this new one when they aren't even scalable. If they were scalable then people would say okay now they're at least scalable but they could easily just add few higher resolution samples like Plugin Alliance has and keep the old nice looking GUIs. Especially the 1176 look quite bad compared to old GUI... Just my two cents.

I bought the Volt 1 and this was supposed to be included for free! I didnt get any licence codes, it just automatically dropped to my iLok account, and requires an iLok usb to activate? How do I redeem that stuff? Tired of all this iLok, UAconnect shit to be honest..
