Not only does she sing, act, and write but she's a huge humanitarian. Starting with her reading program can any of us quote the number of books that have been received by children that would have never had a book much less learned to read. And just think that she took her time to entertain us at a ballgame and I must say that it was one hell of a show.

Both of my boys got a book from her program once a month from the time they were born until they turned 5. Some of them were their favorite childhood books.

I'm just now seeing Dolly's performance, and it is spectacular, as is the woman herself. If I were asked what entertainer I would pick to meet, if I could only meet just one? It would be Dolly; I wouldn't even have to think about it! She is a national treasure.
My cousins husband worked for Dolly for many years, and he says she is the same in person as you see and is like what you see. No pretense. A very nice wonderful person.
My mom always took care of her in the 80s when she was at Dollywood. Yes she has always been so down to earth. My mom didn't have a baby sitter for us once and Dolly said well let them girls come to the park and stay. We literally spent nearly every day that summer at Dollywood. Such a sweet soul. I went to Sevierville Primary School when she had our playground redone and I can remember her laughing as us kids pushed her on the swing. ❤❤❤❤

Obviously she’s aging, but honestly i thought she was holding it more because that tiny little stage they gave her was hard to maneveur around. I thought she was using it to get around that small space and not ridk falling off.

You can tell the space provided was small. Every step she took she had to see where to plant her foot. She did an awesome job.
She was probably holding onto the star because of the lack of lights on stage versus the lights going up and down and all over the place. . She is 77, better safe than sorry.

Dolly Parton. A name I have heard my whole life. From the late 1960's to the now almost mid 2020's. Truly a gifted and beautiful person. I hope there are many more years yet to come that I will be hearing, hearing of, seeing in concert and in movies, the epic Dolly Parton.
There’s something comforting isn’t there, in seeing someone who has been there our whole life still be such a forceful presence in our world? So many famous singers and bands have come and gone in that time, many of whom started their careers much later. But Dolly is more relevant than ever and that gives me a warm fuzzy. On top of that, I can see that her drive to help make the world a better place has taken a new and urgent turn, which has given her a renewed vibrancy I truly envy. The billionaire philanthropists should just turn their money over to her.

What's even more amazing than her singing was that it looks like a stage malfunction. She was supposed to be up on that platform, and yet she continues to perform and didn't skip a beat. Her and Willie are national treasures.

@@AlexeBriand2002 This is the only time I was glad someone was probably lip syncing. With whatever the stage malfunction was, and her having to balance on those crazy heals (I caught a tiny glimpse in one early shot), I cannot imagine her trying to sing live at the same time.
That was very special to see. Brought back many memories of mom playing Dolly on the radio. Such a treat to see some class in current performances.
I had the honor of meeting her in 1978 after a show in Ohio. She was great and just a normal person. Talked for a few minutes and got a hug. I was 17. She is actually very short without heels. And now at 77 and still active that way. Beauty beyond belief. A voice of an angel. This woman is a treasure. You go girl!

They only play live (with NO click tracks or sound tricks), & are more than capable of playing live (as is Dolly). But the NFL is worried both about performers going rogue and mechanical issues.

The Super Bowl halftime show could take a lesson from this. Dolly still has it!! I love that she used the cheerleaders just doing what they do best and not some ridiculous over the top show. You go Dolly!!

Dolly has been requested more than once to perform the SBHT. She has turned down the opportunity saying it is too much of a production to do it but this effort makes me think she is clearly up to the job. Dolly is not perfect, but she is wonderful.

Dolly deserves a Super Bowl performance. She is one of those artist that transcends genres. If you hate country you prolly love Dolly.
She has been offered several times over the years but kept turning it down. She said she didn't think the Super Bowl crowd would want to see her there. I think she's about to change her mind.
I only dislike modern country the old stuff is great. Dolly is my favorite country artist of course.

Dolly has always been one of my favorite singers. I don't think that there's anything that Dolly can't do. At 77 she's still going strong. I know she's getting ready to retire, I hope and pray she will continue to make appearances whenever possible. This was truly one of the best halftime shows I've seen in a long time.

She said her Daddy was the smartest person she knew even though he was illiterate. My granddaughter gets one every month.
