At first, I doubted the professionalism behind this video. Sure the fancy cutting board and the precise cooking temperature and licking technique smacked of pure culinary institute training but the clincher for moi was the fact that even using a super sharpe, serrated knife you had all the original fingers "on this hand". Great job Maiestro!
@@andell0 I just made one because I came across this video lol! But I used mayo, mustard, CHEESE and chips. Came out so damn good! So I cooked it the same way just didn't construct it the same. I highly suggest it!
OK, so I made a video today called, Boujee Bologna Sandwich Recipe, and I thought I'd check RUclips to see what other videos were out there about fried bologna sandwiches. They've all been mediocre and I thought that I had the best video out, until I saw your video. Amazing presentation. Everything was on point from the mise en place to the final plating. I'm thoroughly impressed. Subscribed! Maybe we can do a food collab video someday. I'm adding this to my 'Best Food Videos on RUclips' playlist.
LMAO! Loved the humor you put into the video! I've eaten bologna sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, desert, etc. for 55 years but never put jelly on it!! I will be trying it this weekend! You should do one with SPAM!!
I watched this video YEARS AGO and I've been making this sandwich every once in a while it's so delicious... I'm really glad I found this video again man..... The Dad JOKES have aged REMARKABLY well my friend And amazing dish.... Scottish love your way my friend ❤️
I do mine with a solid half pound slab of Wunderbar deli bologna, fried on medium low long enough to get it steamy hot all the way through then turn up the heat to get a nice burnt crust on both sides, finishing with a 1/8inch thick slice smoked gouda on top and covered till the cheese is fully melted. Then put it on buttered toast with dukes mayo and mustard with a spicy dill pickle on the side.
I honestly thought I was the only person on the planet who ate bologna with jelly. Never tried fried. Just bologna and jelly on toast. Well done, sir!!
What a fun, simple, honest little video. Dad jokes all the way but what can be greater than that in the world? No need for profanities or anything like that to be fun and funny. Good enough to show your kids.
I have to admit, I was skeptical of this mans bologna sandwich skills at first. When I saw him do that precise cut on the slices though, I knew he was on the up & up!
You are so cute 🤗 I love your video... And the sandwich is worthy of a cooking show... I hope you do more... Thank you for sharing that award winning sandwich... Yum 😋
For years I’ve been enjoying similar sandwiches. Along with the chips I use raspberry jam and a cheese slice but the cheese slice obviously goes between the bologna and the bread, not in the middle with the chips. Or for something completely different…PB and Jam!
Now *that's* how you do a cooking demonstration (although it did get pretty technical at places)! You are truly an unparalleled chef and a master presenter, Jon Allen.
This looks like something a stoner would make after many bong hits. Myself, I've always thumbed my nose at the reefer addicts. I prefer the drinky (you know, whiskey, beer, vodka, pretty much any and everything alcohol). Having said that, this video has inspired me to try what I once frowned upon: Da weed. I'm calling up my pot head friend (come on, everyone has at least one) and making a purchase. THEN, I am partaking in making the "World's Best Fried Bologna Sandwich!". I CANNOT wait until I get high for the first time and try this. Wish me luck!
I usually eat fried bologna sandwiches on Martin's potato bread or Arnold Country Buttermilk bread with melted cheddar or muenster cheese, bread and butter pickles and mayo, but I can easily see where the grape jelly would work as far as the whole sweet and savory trip goes because I already love apple jelly on chicken biscuits and pancake syrup on bacon and breakfast sausages as well and I thank you kindly for the video...🤙🍻🇺🇸✌🏻
This is hilarious! I love it! Will have to try making it. I am a little apprehensive about having the capability of plating it as brilliantly as you did at the end, though. Can you tell us what is the perfect can of cheap beer to pair with this delicacy?
squitzy - Considering I have heard this called a Pittsburgh Baloney Sandwich, I would highly recommend a can of IC Light. If that’s not available, then a Yeungling would do nicely.
Brawny cutting board. 🤣I was stunned to spy a spoon rest next to your stove when you panned around. Might I recommend a twist of red pepper or perhaps a pimento slice atop one of the Bologna slices? That way it would look like Pac Man and Ms. Pac man are being intimate. Really enjoyed, Thanks!
Ah, nothing beats a good fried bologna sandwich lol, I use bacon grease when I fry mine, brings an awesome flavor to it, combined with a good pepperjack cheese and woowee stuff's awesome lol
I am not going to bs but holy fuck this made my mouth water. Never in a million years would I have thought about doing this. I’m definitely going to try it.
@ Jon Allen Try the sandwich my families way. Same cooking method only use raw onion, tomato, American cheese and instead over mustard use Tabasco or Louisiana hot sauce. Dot the toast with blops of the sauce at areas you plan to take bites. Oh! and we slightly salt and pepper the fried Bologna. We also heat all ingredience in a toaster over for about 3-5 minutes after the sandwich is built. It's just that much nicer to eat it very warm.
Quite profound Culinary techniques. Totally shrill skills laying that grape jell jell down with the crispy taters kickin back to the left of the crispy pig. What a guy. Bravo man. Bravo.
Great video!!! Jam & baloney? Gross....and btw, salt'n vinegar chips in a baloney samich is the only way to go....lol Where do you get one of those space-age cutting boards??
Congratulations guy, you just helped give nearly 80k people a heart attack and clogged arteries.. We need more people like you to help control the overwhelming population. Good job buddy, you must feel accomplished!
I know this comment is from two years ago but who gives a flying fuck about a bologna sandwich video that’s unhealthy? There’s worse shit out there on the internet and if anyone watching this doesn’t have the common sense to know this isn’t a healthy meal to have too often then that’s on them. Relax man 😂

Powerule those days? Lucky

They'd hang you by the toes in the south putting jelly on bologna

Lose the jam, add a fried egg and cheese!
I KNOW I DO THIS USUALLY WITH 3 BREADS
And bacon!!!
Now that's a badass meal
I tried this. I did this. It changed me. I think of it. Frequently. You should try. You must try.

absolutely LOVE this sandwich and his video
Everything in this recipe is perfect. Anyone that disagrees has never been high.
Thanks for the smile on my face. Love your multi-purpose cutting board. 😉
Must have been taught in France. Amazing! Such precision to detail.

You are too kind.
I can't 😂😂😂😂😂.......it looks like Pac Man 😂😂😂😂😂....LOVE YOUR VIDEO 😎👍💕
I have a question about the slicing. What's the benefits to a single cut vs a multi cut?
Dude this so funny. The cutting board. And your technique. Love it. Please make more videos.
most realistic home cooking technique recorded
I like baloney fried in butter and brown sugar.
Try it, it's yummy, especially if you enjoy caramelization.
no intention of making this sandwich, but stuck around to the end for the comedy.
Awesome video! Love your dry wit!
Yum....my mom(God rest her soul)made this all the time.In my opinion, the best cook in the world.Love and miss you mom♡no jelly though.

You're incredible! My British husband asked what a fried bologna sandwich was, I'm so glad I found this. I haven't laughed that hard all day.
