Ken - I love fried bologna sandwiches, but with that slice of pepper jack, it must have been heavenly. Ty for posting. Your kind voice is comforting along with this wonderful comfort food. What a treat!
@Donna Abdalla, we all love @Ken's voice. I would love to listen to him narrate a good audiobook. My occasional commute would be so much more enjoyable. (I actually do listen to these videos in the car via my phone and headset or through the radio. It's so soothing!)
Im a 77 year old guy believe me ive eaten my share of bologna sandwiches both fried and cold still make one now and then, a fresh sliced garden tomato on the side with some green olives yum
I am Eastern/Central European and I've never really heard of fried Bologna sandwiches before. I tried them last year, and since I've tasted it for the first time it became my favorite sandwich ❤God bless America for this wonderful delicacy 🤗
@@johnmacdonald3070 Good for you! We also have the same meat product, but never used it this way. Though we breaded it and fried it up for a whole meal with sides back in the "cursed ages" (during communism).
He is so pleasant to listen to . I could almost smell the onions as he was cooking them. Our bologna would curl up and then we filled the middle with ketchup. 😊Love the Spanish Olive on the top.
I miss eating bologna. On trips to anywhere my parents would buy a pound of bologna, a loaf of bread and a jar of mustard. Heaven! We sure had a little bit of jars of mustard!!! ☺️
My Mom and Dad use to make me fried bologna sandwiches. It seemed like the bologna tasted better then. They would buy it over the counter instead of prepackaged. It was whole and they sliced it themselves.
Fried bologna was a lunch staple during summer when all five children, Mom and Dad, and Grandpa were home. Dad would tell us to wash up the fried round steaks were ready! 😂😂😂
Bologna and tomato sandwiches were a regular in our house growing up. Never had it fried though, but I'll remedy that this week! I'm going to try it with Boar's Head Olive Terrine Loaf.Thank you, @Ken Click!
I Have Been Making Fried Bologna Sandwiches All Wrong!! O.M.Goodness! I Could Not Take My Eyes Off Of This Video!! I Have Always Loved A Good, Fried Bologna Sandwich, Because I Thought That It Was So Simple, Just Slap A Piece Of Fried Bologna Between 2 Pieces Of Bread, With Maybe A Little Yellow Mustard, And, Done And Dusted! Nope! Nope! Nope! I Am A Grown Woman, Making Fried Bologna Sandwiches Like A 6 Year Old!! You Have Put Me In Heaven, Ken, With This Grown Up Fried Bologna Sandwich!!! I Am So Happy!! Thanks, Again, For Another Stellar Video! And This Time, Everything For That Sandwich, Is The Star!! God Bless You, Brother!!
Me. Ken, I did grow up eating them. Yours looks just delicious, and I love the trick about the low heat I'm definitely doing that! Thanks for the tip! 🙂
Mmm Mmm Good!!! Wonderful memories of making these sandwiches for sure. Have never even thoughr about a version like this before. Looks so great! Can’t wait to give it a try. ♥️ Thanks Ken!
😊 I am a child of the 60's, and both of my parents grew up on farms in the South. Bologna was a staple in our home. A favorite childhood memory is from a home that we lived in when I was very young (4 maybe?). The house had a central heat register on the floor in the hallway. It was about 3' x 4' and it got HOT. My siblings and I loved to get slices of bologna and cook them on top of the grates. I'm 60 now, so obviously as unsanitary as it was, I have lived to talk about it. PS, the trick to cook low and slow is great. I'm going to try it tonight!
LOVE FRIED BOLOGNA!!! In other cities that we've lived in, the supermarkets had more expansive items. Never knew that beef garlic bologna was such a rarity, since I've been eating it for 52 years!😄😁😄 Your sandwich looks great! I grew up in NYS. We'd have ours w garlic bologna, sliced thin, fried until slightly crisp in a wee bit of butter or margerine, on plain white bread w iceburg lettuce (not a fan of it, anymore, much-now I use green leaf), and some French's yellow mustard!!!🤗👍
I haven't had a fried bologna sandwich in a very long time. I never thought to add red onions. This looks so good. I think I need one in my life for lunch. Thanks for sharing
I love watching your videos. I don't know what it is but you make everything interesting, like making a fried bologna sandwich :) Hope you and your wife have a great day.
The only way I can eat bologna! Thanks for the slow cooking tip! My sister and I used to cut them because as you said, the meat would puff up in the center....We at ours without bread and just put mustard on the meat. This looks great!
I haven't eaten bologna in years, and I don't think my mom ever made fried bologna. This looks so good, I'll add thick bologna to my shopping list and give it a whirl. Enjoy your creativity.
Oh Ken that was a feast. I love fried bologna sandwiches. I like mine a bit crispier. Oh that cheese was a great medley. Only thing I have to be honest is I’m not into spicy brown mustard on this one I’d have to use regular mustard so I can enjoy all those flavors, but that’s me. Now while I’m out tomorrow I have to get me some bologna. Pepper jack is a staple here with me, I love it. Have a wonderful day.
What an easy and great idea! I haven't had a fried bologna sandwich in years. I think I'll make two big sandwiches....one for lunch at home, and one to take to work.
I only recently started doing fried bologna and cheese, but it's really a nice little meal. My condiment of choice is barbecue sauce, thrown in the pan with the bologna after it starts to crisp a little bit.
I LOVE bologna sandwiches, on the caramelized onions part I actually like to do this on Sunday with 4-5 big onions so I can store it for the week that way you have delicious onions in the time it takes to reheat!
GREAT SANDWICH KEN !!! only difference is i like to wipe my bread in the skillet thst you cooked the onions in ( cause THATS the way i like it ) oh maybe we could make some sandwiches next time we go on vacation ? if you would likr thst? i love the way you cook ole friend

My mom used to make these for me when I was in grade school back in the 1970s. I would come home for lunch as my school was literally right down the street from where I live. God rest her soul. Mom made them with American yellow cheese and ketchup.
What a great looking sandwich, I like the ingredients and assembly. I'll have to make one. By the way, fried bologna and bacon go together really well on a sandwich.
We were pretty poor in the 1970's, and we had this sandwich a lot to make ends meet. But we only had grilled onions, never caramelized. I am going to have to try that this weekend. It certainly ups the game a bit I bet
I like to have the deli slice mine between 1/4" and 3/8" . I always use garlic bologna. Horseradish goes well with this and a trick a local restaurant owner showed me was to put a layer of potatoe chips in the sandwich.
Sir, I think that’s a “Gourmet” Fried Bologna Sandwich 👏👏👏👏 and thanks for the tip to slowly cook the bologna so it won’t curl up 👍 God bless you both 💕
