Respect to Mrs Coach. For me Led Zeppelin won me over for the blues. Does that mean I love every blues song out there? Nope, but I do like what Led Zeppeling did with it.
What Mrs Coach has with blues, I have with jazz. Heaven knows I tried to find somthing to like jazz, but I never did to this day. We all have our preferences, and that's OK.

Coach, I believe that you put Mrs. Coach on the spot trying to sell her on You Shook Me being “The Blues” and she had that in mind going into the song, and didn’t want to give up her Stance on her feelings about the Blues. Maybe if you’d have told her, “Maybe you don’t like the Blues, but this it Blues Rock, you would have let her like the song without given up her position n the Blues. Just a thought. Rock on!

It is the blues, but its electric blues, and it's turned up 400 degrees. There is a duet going on between the vocals and the guitar throughout, which reaches a crescendo at the end. LZ tried to create new genres by combining the basics of blues, soul, folk, and many others, and fusing it with rock to develop their sound which sold (by some estimates) between 300-350 million records since they formed 55 years ago. I have no problem with your lovely wife having her own taste & opinions of music, that's what a reaction channel is all about!

My wife is similar She needs to think about a message or what things mean but there's certain things where you just FEEL the music and you're basically just like flying in the sounds alongside them. It puts you in a mood and your brain can turn off and you just enjoy the ride. Kinda like how movie scenes will put in underlying music to really make the scene perfect and theres some people who will only be able to connect with the visuals of the movie scene itself to feel the emotions while others could listen to just the music on its own and feel the same kind of emotional ups and downs from just the music and no visual or context.
I could listen to a classical piano piece and feel emotions as the song progresses through doubt, hope, and triumph just using notes while my wife will just hear it at face value. It's totally fine to have your own tastes. It just sometimes feels shitty when you can't share something meaningful to you that makes you feel a certain way because the other person doesn't feel it the same way. Its like when you love a food and you want to share that food with someone and they dont like it.

Great reaction! I'd love to know what Mrs Coach's preferred genre's are. Zep dipped their hands into a LOT of different music. You could next go for....
Wanton Song - good rhythmic rocker with incredible drumming and a great switch up.
Going to California live from Earls Court - Live acoustic folk piece that is beautiful.
Trampled Underfoot live from Earls Court - inspired by Stevie Wonder's Superstition, a funky rock piece that goes hard all the way through with a great solo (as usual).
No Quarter - psychedelic rock mastery. Absolute masterpiece.
Since I've Been Loving You - While it is blues, it is simply a crazy good love song with one of the most emotive guitar solos of all time - and done first take!
I could go on. You could throw a dart at a wall of all their songs and you'd land on a cracking good song.
As for what could get Mrs Coach an appreciation of the blues? How about Stevie Ray Vaughn Texas Flood (A Celebration of Blues and Soul version)
    Cheers.

You need to trade Mes Coach in for a good Pit Bull and giant bag of Doritos . Coach she dont like the Blues. Music dont get any better than the blues. Instrumental alone is priceless. Where Rock began. Mrs Coach needs to be stuck in a room with 8 giant Bose 901 s and a 600 watt stereo system play every blues song Zeppelin has. On Ten.

LOL, there are far more important things on earth than music, and everyone has different musical tastes. We know lots of people (and many more in the comments) that don't like the blues. Coach loves that style of music, but realizes art appeals to everyone differently.

If everyone liked the same music and the same songs, it'd be an awful boring and sad world.

Late to the party but I have to side with Mrs. Coach on this one. I LOVE the guitar tone in this, but otherwise the blues are repetitive, predictable and usually the exact same boring chord progression in every song. May as well just be one blues song with slightly different "I woke up dis moanin' with an ingrown toenail" caterwauling.
