robert plays bloody good harmonica
I saw Led Zeppelin play this song in concert
Oakland California July 23rd 1977 😊❤
So good.
The crawling rhythm and then the organ takes me to church.
And then harmonica.
Perfect.
Led Zeppelin is MY FAV Band ever!
I get hypnotized every time I hear this 😵💫
Elevated blues at its very best. That debut album from led zepp is amazing.
blew everybody away
I think it is the best first album anyone has ever done!
Thanks for the Led Zeppelin
My favorite band since 69❤
Masterpiece! GOATs!
This is why we were born with ears!🌺✌️
The back and forth between Robert and Jimmy is known as “call and response”..
"Babe I'm gonna leave you', "Your time is gonna come", "Ten years gone", "What is and what should never be", "Fool in the rain", "Good times bad times", "Going to California", "Dazed and confused"..... All incredible...!
My favorite solo of all time .
The GOATS IS ALL THAT HAS TO BE SAID!!!! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
harmonizing and call and response
So much talent just bursting from every molecule of these four guys …
I love them So much
When folks say that bands like Zeppelin copied these old blues greats, they didn't so much as copy but they reinvented them, it was not like all the sampling that goes on now!
I'm not sure people have a problem with copying/reinventing or reimagining original blues songs or any type of music. But at least give credit where credit is due to the original writers and performers, which Led Zeppelin failed to do.
Everyone was doing it back then and no one went out of their way to give credit except for saying who their influences were in interviews.
@@kenhewitt7357 Everyone WAS doing it, the difference being that most bands (Beatles & The Stones especially) credited the original writers on their label and even brought Howlin Wolf on tour with them. Led Zeppelin were cheeky and never did, hence the numerous court cases brought against them in later years.
It just doesn't get any better than that!
"Since I've been loving you" is a must by them. You won't regret doing a reaction to it I promise!
God yes!
@@cirtapseven3742 BOTH are incredible!
Actually, Harri already did “Since I’ve been Loving You” many months ago. It’s my favorite LZ song🥰 Here’s the linkruclips.net/video/F2l90CdQhgA/видео.html
@@debbiechang5781 thank you for letting me know, great reaction!
I am so glad that Led Zeppelin took this Willie Dixon song, which was already great as sung by Willie, and let it loose in 1969 , having been given the Led Zep treatment.
The very best Zepplin album.
Pretty badass for 1968. They will never have to worry about anyone making music that can compare. So versatile. Forever Rockstars.
Another overlooked Grindy blues Zep song is Tea For One , dont miss it .
The Blues on Acid! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Gettin The Led Out!!
You won't go wrong with any one of their songs.
We always love your reactions 💖
Robert Plant’s voice is a musical instrument.
I laugh at the haters who say Led just ‘stole’ old black blues and didn’t pay their dues. This may be a song Muddy Waters played too, but this is its own animal with its own vibe and damn, what a performance by all members of the band.
At a certain point, it’s not a theft of a song, it’s a tribute to the one before while elevating it to a different level, exposing it to a different audience. I don’t know business wise if they would have owed The original player any royalties and failed to pay them, that’s a different issue. But on the music alone this is just a different song when they play it.
You're missing the whole point. The greatness of a cover is irrelevant. If it's a cover, like this was, you have to give credit to the original artist, and pay them. Zep didn't do that on several songs early in their career, and that's called theft, plain and simple. In fairness to Zeppelin, a lot of rock bands also failed to give credit to old blues artists during that era. But that doesn't make it right.
I was privileged to see them live in the summer of 1970. They were just the greatest band I’ve ever seen or heard. I still get chills at 70 years old.
20 year old Robert Plant. Sick.
Learned from records, John Mayall, Long John Baldry ?
You described them perfectly - bluesy and groovy .
Amazing band...always! Do more Zeppelin!!!
I agree with you. The best English blues band ever. BBKing, Muddy Waters, etc etc - they are at the same level.
A scorching organ solo...followed by a scorching harp solo...followed by a scorching guitar solo. Back to back to back. This is the song that inspired me to play the blues harp. Epic
That break just after the guitar comes is just heart stopping!
I almost wore this album out I played it so much then I got to see the mighty Zep in 1970 in Winnipeg, Canada. Ow! Amazing!
One of my favorite LZ tracks.
March 29, 1970, Hoffheinz Pavillion, Houston, TX, 3rd row center. I spent every penny I had and all I could borrow for those tickets. It was worth every cent. A major deposit in the memory bank. Joints being passed up and down the rows, beautiful chicks sitting on guys shoulders, the feeling of harmony and joy was palpable. The drummer, John Bonham, threw his sticks to the crowd and performed a 5 minute drum solo with his knuckles. You've seen Stevie Ray Vaughn play guitar behind his back? Same feeling. Led Zeppelin was absolutely amazing throughout. Seriously talented and surprisingly dedicated musicians. Despite their brief run (only 10 years), they are the 5th largest selling musical act in history - for a reason!
Love you Harri, the best reactionist by far
Hi Harri , it is such a pleasure to watch you . I like that you are just yourself ! This version is superb ! You should listen to The Rain Song live at MSG . Pure beauty !
Props to Uncle Phil for suggesting you check out both versions back to back. This heavily saturated blues romp drips with reverb and more. John Paul Jones kicks the whole thing off with that organ solo.
Meme on Internet, showing gravity wells of heaviest objects in the Universe. Earth - almost imperceptible dip; Sun - a noticeable dip; White Dwarf star - a quarter of the way down; Black Hole - sharp dip to three quarters down; Hammond B3 with twin Leslies - parallel vertical lines down off the chart!
I was mishearing the lyrics to this for decades. He sings "I have a bird that whistles" and I heard "I have a broken missile".
And when I was a kid, this rolled right in to Dazed and Confused on the album.
Misty Mountain Hop
I was 13 or 14 yrs old when I got Led Zeppelin’s debut album. They were my introduction to blues. I fell in love with the genre because of them. “You Shook Me” has always been my favorite song on that album. John Paul Jones and John Bonham holding the groove. Please react to my 2 favorites from Led Zeppelin 2, “The Lemon Song” and “Bring It On Home”.
All the songs on that album (Led Zeppelin I) are incredible and have a live feel to them. You could do worse than reacting to all of them... :-)
Speaking of which, I'm so glad that you didn't react to an actual live version of the song -- almost everything by LZ sounds better in the studio/album version. But, I agree that seeing them live (to supplement the album/studio versions) is fun just for the heck of it :-)
Excellent! From Led Zeppelins first album 🎼🎶🎵🍔🇨🇦
Somehow Led Zep seemed to capture that Blues classic in a new, incredibly clean yet Raw sounding version? From Bonzo's fills to Jimmy Page's incredible tone & call backs to Plants wailing in perfect harmony! Great reaction!
I saw them live in 1973. Absolutely one of the best concerts I’ve seen
Great reaction. It's a fantastic song,,,,🔥🔥🔥👍😎
I look forward to you reacting to any of their songs you haven't yet . Just pick one , ANY one theyre ALL good
Right out of the gate. Blows your mind.
Another reactor "Soul Train Bro", streamed an A&E documentary on them. Really gives you background.
Robert Plant was only 19 years old when they did this song
Three Zepp songs in a row, listed on the reactions page! By two reactors, (also Jamel). Cool!
that album was recorded in 15 hours and mixed in 15 hours
Led Zeppelin is still the very best today, check it out.
Hey Harri
Thanks for the zeppelin reactions. I always love your analysis. You might want to check out the lemon song and tea for one. These songs are very bluesy and I think you will really get a kick out of them
On the album, You Shook Me is followed by Dazed and Confused. These two songs combined is the best piece of music that Led Zeppelin created. Although The Rain Song is close.
All great tracks, but nothing can match, "Kashmir".
Thanks for an extraordinary reaction to an equally extraordinary song!
Best ever Zeppelin track, right up there with Deep Purples' Child in time
You listen to the version by Jeff Beck with Rod Stewart also had John Paul Jones on it
Jonesy, somewhere between church and Ray Charles on that organ.
This is one of those obscure but great songs from this band. Their affinity for the blues is one of the main qualities the band that draws me. They to me, are the best band. It’s really hard to determine your “best band”. Especially growing up in the 70’s. But there are other bands that came out much later on my short list of great bands. I don’t stop listening to music no matter how old I get.
I agree. They totally destroyed that track. I think you would really like another track from the same album “How Many More Times”. One of my Zep “go to’s”.
I have this cassette and back in the early 2000s my twin 2 year olds and I would listen to it and "Breathe" by The Prodigy late at night when I would pick up their big brother from work
*Harri* what can I say....... you reacted to *MY* G.O.A.T. band again..... huge thanks bro.! *David* ......
I saw LED in 1977 Inglewood. I don't think they played this song , but it was the first concert I ever saw!
Try the Lemon Song by LZ pure rock blues
John Bonham is or was the greatest drummer in the world. Drummers usually hook into the base, Bonham, he hooks into Page on lead guitar. He also introduced the triple beats. I saw them 7 times in person. Page is using bow right now.
Page uses a Gibbon Flying V Guitar 🎸 here through a Leslie ‘
Good ol bump and grind music.
For me Magic Sam and Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green are my favourite blues acts. Led Zeppelin perfectly managed to fuse two genres together though.
My first--and best--rock concert, March 30, 1970, Civic Arena, Pittsburgh, PA. Tickets were $12.
And then Dazed & Confused
It was funny watching you pause it and hearing you say, that the only thing that is needed, is a Jimmy Page guitar solo... right in the middle of a Jimmy Page guitar solo, lol. Admittedly, that's one distorted guitar but even so... :)
Good night.
How is it possible for 4 white english boys to be the best blues band ive ever heard
Listen to it before Zeppelin recorded it. I saw them 7 times.
How'd does a guy from England, your age, with music knowledge, not know this song?
This is 3 a.m. music...😄
My favorite eargasim...
Thanks Harri: Please react to a stupendous story song--UNKNOWN LEGEND by Neil Young. The studio version is best.
I love the Unplugged version of Unknown Legend. Pocahontas too.
You ever going to do echoes part 2? I didn’t see. It if you did.
You couldn’t have stopped it at the worst time
None better.
Who plays organ ?
Zep: I’m Gonna Crawl. Since I’ve Been Loving You (Studio Version), I know you did the live version already. Studio 1000 times better, IMO.
Why didn’t you mention John Bonham the drummer 🥁 ???? He was the backbone of the band Harry ??????
Bron yr stomp !!!!!
layer,layer , practiced a bunch ?
You don't stop in the middle of the guitar solo!!!
Sorry
You stopped at exactly the WRONG moment. Bad luck!
Try not to pause guitar solos dude
Stop fuckin` pausing....especially during Page`s solo!
