▷ About Paul:
Paul Rodriguez, also known as “P-Rod” was recognized as a prodigy at the young age of 14, only two years after he started skating. His consistency, effortless style and persistence on his board led Paul to travel far from his home town of Northridge, CA to the City Streets around the world as a part of the legendary City Stars team. His passion for skating and filming with his friends led to his breakout part in Logic 6 in 2000, Street Cinema in 2001 and landed him Rookie of the Year in 2002 for his part in Tranworld’s video production “In Bloom.” He turned pro later that year.
Paul bought his first skateboard at the age of 12. When he’s not skateboarding, Paul enjoys studying the lives of influential individuals, including his favorites such as Alexander the Great and Bruce Lee.
Paul currently lives in Los Angeles.

My best friend passed away this year, growing up we skated every day together for the past 17 years or so. This video made me think of him and our memories we made together. Thank you prod for making me think of him and the moments we had skating every day

I feel you bro, my best friend passed 3 years ago, and we grew up skateboarding together, for about 10 years, we weren't amazing by any means but all the amazing memories will never leave me. For all the fallen homies!

The last video you did with Chris, I could see how rejuvenated you were like a kid who just got to a new skate park wanting to skate all day. Wow what an inspiration. I'm 26, skated since I was 12...
I plateau'd from ages 19-23, not feeling inspired to go get new tricks but this past year I've skated sooo much seeing you also gave me more juice to go harder than before wow.
Skateboarding is in a great place and I love seeing it.

Mate, has it ever occurred to you visiting the land where your father was born ? Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. there is a skateboarding scene here with some bangers, skateshops and skateboarding schools to teach the little ones and to keep the scene alive, I know you would have a blast going to the different spots and getting along with the locals.
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. The ego on this dude is absolutely out of control. He's claiming to be an artist and a visionary while taking a huge paycheck from AT&T? This whole circlejerk of a video is absolutely gross.

Hermano en estos momentos estudio y me formo para ser Sacerdote y ya hace años patine durante 16 años.
Desde ya 2 años quiero volver a patinar en mis dias y momentos libres.
No cuento con los recursos actualmente. Una señora me ayudó con un skate de esos económicos de 15$ pero no son buenos como los que usaba. Aqui hay bueno pero armandolos cuestan alrededor de 200$ y es mucho dinero para mi y apenas reuno para comprarme unos zapatos de vestir de suela comoda para mis estudios y servicios en el altar.
Quisiera ver si esta en tus posibilidades de enviarme un skate armado y un par de zapatos para poder patinar. Soy medida 7.8 y trucks cortos y los zapatos talla 42.

I remember back in 99 maybe 2000? I saw P Rod in a magazine for Nike around 100 shoe boxes. I was like what Nike skateboarding????
This hit me in the feels bro. My co workers seen me skating at the shop yesterday. And ask me why I still do this at 36. I told them it’s because I have to. But I also knew they would never understand the battles fought and battles won. I never turned pro and that never mattered and I’m sure if P-rod never turned pro. It never would’ve mattered either. Skateboarding is the source and I wouldn’t be me without it.

Like a few before and after him., He has nothing to prove. He's a living legend a good example to follow.
Just enjoy your life and keep skateboarding. He has won and transformed many styles., A master of his craft.
I've explained who is p.rod to my mom, who supports my skating again. For a while there she thought it was the pipeline to drugs and crime, and maybe coming back home with staples on my head. All the irrational fears. She's my sponsor for now. So I think I can explain the p.rod image as well.
More huge than his dad, with all due respect. I also caught that video you did with the father of the kid who was sick. That was super heavy. It was simply titled something like, 'my recovery process'. You can have a whole army dude. Like jesus for real. Never met this man in person either, but I think he is one of the coolest people. If I was sick and p,rod came to my bedside I would probably hop out of bed and do a heelflip.
I never wanted to copy his street style. What makes Paul who he is, goes beyond the clothes and Nike. He developed a good style into adulthood and did tricks in a consistent way. He is a product of skateboarding and made it happen, he also lived the dream of all skaters. He's giving back to skateboarding still. He is graceful. He's also funny and charismatic, without trying to be. Also a bit camera-shy. P.Rod is cool in my opinion. A guy who prays before lunch...he's just like that lol.

My whole world kinda lost out when 8 inch trucks were outgrown i got too tall. I went to 8.5 but it never felt right again I felt like a lil vert skater. I wanna try 8.25 and be back next year. I know that feels right. I am 6 feet tall.

Go to the gym and build muscle around the joints required to skate and to avoid further and future injuries. I used to skate, joined the military after 9/11 and managed four tours. Now I skate again but the only lesson between all of this is strength training works and if used properly you are less prone to injuries.
You are amazing Paul, you inspired many people to go and skate and live a new lifestyle in this beautiful world, the skate world.
I remember when i was kid, 14th years old, and one day I yo to RUclips and see one video of you, the target video named "the moment" it was a target ad but that's not the important thing,
when I saw that video, when I heard that, your history, the moment when you enter in the pro field and all the things that I saw in that video somehow touch my heart, and I said to myselft man I just want to skate everyday, that video inspired my everyday, it was very powerful to me and tought I want to download this video as a MP3 archive,
and I did it haha, and when I go to the school in the bus to my house I just listen that video, the funny part is I don't understand anything because I wouldn't know english, but the video, the way that you spoke in that video, I don't know for my kid version it was maggical and everyday when a came to my house I just go to skate inmediatly to my nearest park with my friends,
You are a role model in all aspects, both in how you skate, the type of person you are and how you see life today.

I feel this so much. Coming back from a sickness that almost to me. Out. Now ifeel lime skateboarding is a bleto evan do.. Sometimes I feel I'm never er going to skate like I use to but. Seeing this make me want to try harder to be me again. One day I'll get the tre back. I will never stop wven if i can walk. Skate or die for life.

Having shattered my left kneecap into 5 pieces skating back in 2007, i know your pain. Sadly i didnt get a good doctor, and have never been able to skate again. Glad you could come back and keep doing it! You and cole have always been my favorite skaters. Awesome to watch your videos, and see/hear you on the podcasts
