It's like an idea grabs him and he just goes with it. Is Greg Koch a better gunslinger? Yes, but he's not as invested in the ideas as this guy is. Listening to him is like reading a collection of short stories, all with such varied moods and themes. Incredibly creative. I'd pay a lot for the album.
You consistently post the most insightful, relevant and comprehensive reviews I can find, and cover all the tonal bases with different instruments and playing styles.
Big fan of Jacks playing. Never seems to play same stuff or style, so very versatile guitarist. Surprised he isn’t in house band for top star. Sure he’ll get the call eventually.
I think I may have liked the fender the best but it's really hard to tell. What I DO know for sure is that I *love* these shootouts from you guys! Keep 'em comin'!
Great playing! They all sound nice, though the Tone King seems to have a richness, and nice chime as well as pleasant harmonic overtone structure. Their amps are on my short list👍
The Fender is the sound we've heard on so many records, so it makes sense that so many people would love it... Its like the sound of an SM57 on a cab, there's just something familiar about it... Having said that, the two rock sounds beautiful, infact they all have their charms (although the lows lose a fair amount of definition on the tone king with LP)
Love the sound of these amps! The classic is, well the “classic”. The Two Rock has the tone, but I suspect costs more than the custom shop? The Tone King Falcon is a lot more of an amp. I bought a 5e3 clone, which I love ❤️, had I had the money, the Falcon Grande would have been very high on the list! The other voicing, higher headroom, built in attenuator, and excellent reverb make it a lot more...
Those are all nice sounding amps, but that Tone King is well named. It sounds like you played it with more gain than the others but the chimey overtones yet individual notes on chords = pretty sweet. Don't forget to compare Carr amps some time. I have an older Mercury and it is pretty killer.
I think this video highlights exactly what I do and don’t like about amp comparisons. The variety of amp settings, guitar/pickup choices, and handwork display the various tonal qualities of the amps. And they all sound great. BUT what I really want is an exact strum-for-strum comparison between the amplifiers with identical guitars and licks. This way I can isolate differences in amp tones. I would love to see this video redone that way.
I had the ‘57 Custom Tweed Twin from Fender, wasn’t a fan of the old school Jensens that flub out. I now have the burnside and can do both very nice cleans and dial out bass and push the amp for the more traditional tweed tone; Big fan of having a more useable bass range in the Two-Rock.
Doesn't the custom tweed twin have new eminence alnicos like the custom deluxe? The earlier tweed reissues had the jenses? But the customs changed that i thought
Andrea Pasillas I did, still discovering new sounds after four months, each of the four inputs is slightly different, Mic 2 is best for Telecasters imo, Mic 1 for Strats, def Inst 1 for Les Pauls, had to sell my mint Gibson J-45 to get it, but I love this amp!
Jack, you are on your way to being the best demo guy there is.I had 3 Tonekings the 1st edition falcon a Imperial HW and the skyking..all great. I'm currently using longhorn amps
Hi Sir. What do you mean exactly by 5E3 explosivge quality? Im thinking to buy Tone King so would like to know if needs to be more carefoure. Thanks D.
Great chops as always, Jack. Your palying is amazing. Loved the Two-Rock. Would go with that one for sure. Could you describe how each of them felt, by any chance? Cheers
I want love the Custom Deluxe (and it's bigger brother the "57 Custom Pro w the 15" speaker) but I can't help but think they need reverb or at least a delay in every mix I've heard. I've heard one in person and it was great at a club- but the guy had a Fender reverb unit with it- they just seem to sound so dry and non-3D to me- but I WANT to love them because I love that tweed aesthetic and tone otherwise. Great playing here- as usual.
Hey could you do a Joe Bonamassa tone vid? His has a sweet mix of different cranked tweed amp tones and I do mean cranked and using guitar volume to control Old school.
they all sound great, but the fender has that nice sweet squishy overdrive that the others did not seem to have...I think that is what gives the Fender it's thing...no one else does that squishy compressed drive
Kid your the best non showoff player I've heard in years. It's just to bad you couldn't really define the purpose, the amps or your playing. Either way the best to you. Alex.
Loved the Tone King. The Fender has that bit of fuzz blooming off the notes that I don't like, but I guess that's part of why people like the actual Fender.
Is the 57 tweeds tube configuration standard? I have an EC Tremolux, I might change the first 12AX7 for a 12 AY7 and see if there is a noticeable change in tone.
You really needed the Fender JB twin. It's better than the Custom having owned both. But once again a hell of good job with the amps you had. Always amazing playing on this site.
There are lesser known brands that have their own Tweeds such as Milkman, Vintage Sound, Franklyn, Carl's Custom, Lazy J, and Roadhouse. I wonder if Supro has any Tweeds.
I'd like to know if you can get those tones but at apartment volume? Am I right in saying the ToneKing all have built in attenuators? Do you have to crank the others? 🤔 I'd love an amp like these but can't have it loud
I’ve got the Falcon and it still shines at low volumes. Lots of nice harmonics and sweet compression at bedroom level. The Ironman attenuator is really an amazing piece of egineering.
I liked the rawness of the Fender ‘57 Custom Deluxe. I also like the fat sound of the Falcon Grande. The Burnside was more polite and less interesting to my ears. Ymmv.
very good guitarist, the future of jazz fusion, you made me remember joe pass and johnny cash or chet atkins in a single passage. good luck and success...
This dudes is a fantastic player. Unfortunately, they changed the camera shot during the most excellent part of his playing from 8:19 to abut 8:30. I'd put his playing up against anyone's today, Joe Bonammassa, etc.
Fender
LP: 2:31 3:07
Tele: 3:35 4:32
Two Rock

Tele: 5:50 6:06
Tone king

Your welcome
57 fender custom delux was my favorite and that tele wailed
What a musical player this young man is !! Your Dad must be so proud of you.
He's the joy of my life!

Thanks Jim, we appreciate that! Hope you’ve subscribed to the channel!
Yeah but they forgot to talk about what speakers!
It's a good morning when I get my coffee and Jack's got a new vid playing a Tele into an old Fender style amp.
Great playing, awesome video, Fender '57 Deluxe all the way!
I watched this twice before I even paid attention to which amp. Fantastic playing!!!
Great playing!
They all sound nice, though the Tone King seems to have a richness, and nice chime as well as pleasant harmonic overtone structure.
Their amps are on my short list👍
I liked the rawness of the tele into the Tone King.
I played one of the Deluxes at GC the other day and holy shit, what an amp! One of the best amps I've ever heard.
Always appreciate a really good picker. Really brings out the musicality of the product.
Love the sound of these amps! The classic is, well the “classic”. The Two Rock has the tone, but I suspect costs more than the custom shop? The Tone King Falcon is a lot more of an amp. Awesome sounds! Can you do a comparison video with some low watt amps like a Champ 57?
Hot damn gorgeous tweed tones and incredible playing! Thanks RUclips for the recommendation
This man does not play a bad note..! well done!
They all sound great!
But the Fender... is the real thing
The Fender is obviously the bar set for the 3. But I liked the Tone King Falcon as a close 2nd and the Two-Rock was a close 3rd.
Tone King.
I’ll take the Fender.
Totally surprised by this. Figured either of the boutique amps would best the Fender, but it just isn't so. The Fender sounds great.

Oh Yeah! Fender '57 Custom Deluxe is the way to go!
They all sounded great but for me, the Tone king seemed the most versatile whilst staying true to the original tweed sound.
I would go with the Fender...coolest cleans and roughest ODs. Super classy picking!!
He is so charming it makes me want to buy them all!
Jack, you are on your way to being the best demo guy there is.I had 3 Tonekings the 1st edition falcon a Imperial HW and the skyking..all great. I'm currently using longhorn amps
The Tone King is my personal fave but the 5e3 has an explosive quality that hits the spot if you're searching for that vibe.
Hi Sir. What do you mean exactly by 5E3 explosivge quality? Im thinking to buy Tone King so would like to know if needs to be more carefoure. Thanks
D.
You could also jumper the channels on the tweed deluxe for more holy grail tones, how about the others?
Great chops as always, Jack. Your palying is amazing.
Loved the Two-Rock. Would go with that one for sure. Could you describe how each of them felt, by any chance?
Cheers
Nice playing! They all sound great but Tone King for the win.
Definitely more break up with the TK
Yes, I want one of those amps
Just bought one this morning ... soooo +1
I want love the Custom Deluxe (and it's bigger brother the "57 Custom Pro w the 15" speaker) but I can't help but think they need reverb or at least a delay in every mix I've heard. And that is why fender have sold so many blues jr. Despite the fact that they sound like farts and barf they sure do look pretty.
Jack you are a monstrous player mate!!! Great video as always 🤘🏻
Hey could you do a Joe Bonamassa tone vid? His has a sweet mix of different cranked tweed amp tones and I do mean cranked and using guitar volume to control Old school.
Love the tone king, thought the real tweed sounded thin with the tele, my own clone sounds better than the fender and half the prices 😮
Nice amps...but this guy's playing is the star of the show.
Tone King 👍
they all sound great, but the fender has that nice sweet squishy overdrive that the others did not seem to have...I think that is what gives the Fender it's thing...no one else does that squishy compressed drive
Tone Kings are amazing...recently bought one off John...an Imperial II.....does Fender and other sounds...ask Mr Knopfler
That was beautiful playing
Fender Tweed...no contest!
Tone king for me.
for cleans it was the fender but I really want that Tone King.
damn didnt know the two rock could be that amazing
Tone King kicks butt.
It's nice to hear that the "Fender Tax" actually does have value. It sounds sweet
Love the Fender and Two Rock
Tone King Falcon Grande: IS KILLER!!!!!!
I think I got it , as in R L Burnside !
Michael Carter what don’t you get about sub 20 watt?
Jack, you are SUCH a killer player. great vid.
Fender clarity and growl all day. Next amp will be a 57 tweed deluxe RI. Blew the others away and it’s the OG.
Tweed Deluxe wins for my ears
Tone King was indeed.
I have 2 tone kings. Gremlin and falcon grande. Gremlin is # 1
Tone king strong #2
Tone King Falcon for the Win, shocked, Fender 2nd place IMO
Real Nice Playing Young Brother. Thanks!
AKG C 4000 B, build in Austria
3:05 is that from any song or just improvising?
Great job guys - what was the mic model you were using?
I think the big open G is the test. So I pick the fender.
Well done......nice playing too
I wonder how the imperial would have been instead of the falcon
not a tweed
Fender Deluxe
idk who the hell you think you are, Jack, but i like you.
Oh that Les Paul with the Fender 😎
it'd be really cool to see another one of these videos but with blackface-style amps
The Fender is the winner because of all the tonal options that weren't demo`d
cranked tweed deluxe awesome
I'd say one of each
Should try a Valvetrain.. Seriously. All my amps are Valvetrain now. I dont know why people dont know them.
I liked the rawness of the Fender ‘57 Custom Deluxe. I also like the fat sound of the Falcon Grande. The Burnside was more polite and less interesting to my ears. Ymmv.
The Two Rock sounds great. The other sound muffled by comparison.
Tone King was much warmer and offered a wider range of tones.
Your videos are great, but would improve vastly with timestamps with the most relevant bits. Just a thought!
Tone King was my fave by a wide margin
Looks like I need a Tone King.
That tele sounded so darn lovely..ughh
Tone King
Great demo of the Tele Thinline
Some lovely fat tones coming from the LP.
very good guitarist, the future of jazz fusion, you made me remember joe pass and johnny cash or chet atkins in a single passage. good luck and success...
I heard no Jazz Fusion... only Country and Blues.
is that a song that he plays on the les paul/fender amp ? sounds super familiar
Sounds like variations on Felder's first solo in Hotel Cali to my ear
Are you hitting a pedal on the burnside? There is a big increase in gain and it looks like you stepped on something but didn't see that mentioned.
He said at the beginning he was using a Wampler Tumnus.
@@Plextortion Thanks did not catch that!
He said at the beginning he was using a Wampler Tumnus.
Jack is a future guitar god.
Love the 2 rock, but its a hard clip
Tone king ,but they were all good
This dudes is a fantastic player. Unfortunately, they changed the camera shot during the most excellent part of his playing from 8:19 to abut 8:30. I'd put his playing up against anyone's today, Joe Bonammassa, etc.
1. Fender 2. Tone King 3. Two Rock
Warning: adjectives galore
1. Tone King - dry, woody, fat
2. Fender - explosive and raw
3. Two-Rock - kinda boring in comparison
You are correct, sir.
Still miss Jack!
Jack you are such a great player! You could plug into a toaster and make it sound good.
Lazy J 20 smokes these! 🤟
