How to fight such unfair practices? What are the legal options for the customers? Because not everyone will get news coverage.

Just happened to me as well. They attempt to run ruff shot over their customers. I have rented vehicles for over 26 years in over 12 different countries and have have been treated so poorly.
Unwillingness to work with their customers, refusal to speak with upper management to resolve the issue amicably. (But that seems to be their game they are playing) Disrespectful and threatening emails etc. I have pristine credit and have had for over 26 years. So I don't take threats of being sent to collection lightly nor do I sit idly by and let someone, no matter their perceived size, attempt to freely extort payment from me when it's for something I'm not responsible for.
Stay away from Enterprise and their affiliates. Hit them in their wallet like they have so many others. Boycott them and spread as much negative press on-line as humanly possible. X, Facebook, TikTok, RUclips etc.
      Shameful companies.

Just received an alleged damage claim over a car I rented in California, BUT it had Colorado plates from Enterprise. They alleged I have damage but it's NOT possible because I dropped it off with the agent and he checked the car. It had mud on tires and some mud splatter on sides due to the rains in Cali but that's it. Enterprise you should be ashamed, never gonna rent from this company again!

🚨 Warning about Enterprise in Southern California! 🚨
My daughter is facing harassment over a collision she had no part in. The rental location didn’t even know about any damages, yet she received a bill for repairs from Kansas City, MO.
I strongly advise against renting from Enterprise after this experience. Be cautious!

Enterprise is known for NOT checking the car while renting it out and stealth-checking it while returning. I was once charged for something that was loose under the car when I returned it. Who looks under the car while renting? Shame on them. I think it is their culture of rewarding or punishing their employees that spills over to customer treatment. I would thoroughly check the car while checking out and take pictures if I see any minor damage

I would just avoid renting from these scammers and their affiliate companies.

My story was the same. No hail. Yet claimed extensive hail damage only few small dents. Provided photo evidence taken at Up-Hire and still not considering evidence provided by me.

Dont drop the car off in an unattended lot (night drop). Until keys are IN THEIR HANDS the car damage is owned by you. Get the $20/day DW waiver.

The NWS keeps detailed records of hail storms severe enough to damage cars. It should be possible to prove you were not in one. But this is still a pain in the butt.

Not saying it’s the customer’s fault for this kind of thing, but please if you rent ANYTHING from ANYWHERE, take photos/videos before taking official possession. Saves you headache

It doesn't matter the photos. I had the gear shift come off in my hand and immediately photographed it in my hand while sitting in the car. Why are customers held responsible for poorly maintained vehicles? If I'm driving a rental and the wheel bearing fail, I'll be damned if I should be responsible for maintaining their fleet.

There’s no reason we should be charged for weather… that’s literally imbedded into the insurance u have to get when u rent the car it’s called an act of god. There’s not a single insurance company that doesn’t cover hail, enterprise just didn’t wanna pay that deductible
