Lincoln LS for the time period, was fast. The latest they were made was 2006, having a 3.9L making nearly 300 hp (and easily attainable with an exhaust, intake, and tune from Torrie) was not bad for the time. The problem was definitely weight. The 5 speed slush box was slow, and was known to blow up with 75 shots, a 6 speed manual like offered prior in the V6 would have transformed the car. Now the largest problem of all, was and still is the lack of aftermarket support. This wasn’t necessarily the aftermarket’s fault, the early CANBUS wiring systems were terrible. Hard to pick through, description of operation longer than the encyclopedia collection on grandpa’s shelves, and even stricter tolerances in deviations from target signal readings than even today’s cars. I think where now, you can buy aftermarket parts for even a Kia Koup, 10 years ago there just weren’t as many aftermarket companies. I feel that now, auto manufacturers are making cars more tolerant to modification, knowing that part of the appeal of their new vehicles is in fact the aftermarket. I’ve owned 20 or so cars since I started driving just 6 years ago, and many times I chose a car over another purely for aftermarket support. Sure, if it’s not available, but I want the car I could make parts, but there’s something to be said about clicking order and bolting something on a few days later. Now with this extremely strict wiring system in the LS, it made it difficult even to complete a manual swap. To create more power, the fact that the 3.9L motor itself was large for such a small displacement but still a smaller engine nonetheless, it makes it nearly impossible to swap any DOHC V8 engine into it without moving strut towers and creating a wide body. You could go the LS route, but you’ll deal with wiring goblins for as long as you have it just like any other engine swap in this car, again because of the wiring. It’s a beautiful car, a great chassis, but alas impossible to improve upon which is what us gear heads crave to do.
I just bought my 2nd one on Thursday and damn i waited a long 6+ yrs to get another. Never will be dissatisfied when you push that pedal. I can set mine sideways barely trying. An ALOTTTT of ppl under estimate the ls. I get diesels and mustang all day trying to race. It's a nice smile when u know you have it right off the line
151 GPS MPH achieved successfully in 06 LSV8. Have cold air intake. Spacer. X pipe, flowmaster exhaust. tbh... The suspension is waaaaaaay too much ( and too much to maintain ) for the platform. A good sport suspension upgrade is a must. Unless you want to be replacing links, sway bars, bushings etc regularly. Convert to the eibach susp. Costs a third of what the oem susp costs (lb for lb). The ride gets stiffer (not too bad though), no squeaky awkward noises either. A solid LSV8 can easily be picked up under 5 grand.
The Lincoln LS are fast, nice cars too. It is a Ford product as well. However, I heard that every time you have to put it in the shop it's cost you 3G's
i will run it in an 07 camry 3.5l with 2 less cylinders and change your whole perspective on this car. I cannot believe people think this v8 is actually fast but yet talk shit on 6 cylinder camrys 05 and up.
Theres a bleed/purge valve under the hiod next to the coolant reservoir. Its a black tube with what looks like a cog at the end. Turn the car on open the cap add fluid close the cap and twist the “cog”. Once you see fluid dripping out(dont twist it all the way off just twist it open) then close it back up and go about your day.
Actually in 2003 the LS Recieved 50 more HP, going from 230, to 280. (I owned a 2004) And I could beat any stock mustang, up to 2011. Right before I got rid of it, I paid a shop $600 to tune the computer and transmission, and it dynoed at 332 horsepower. You gotta love those Jaguar derived engines
no it was 30 the 2000-2002 ls v8 made 252hp and the mark 2 03-06 made 280hp. I have a 05 with a k&n intake, magnaflow cat back and a conservative tune making it good for about 320hp

I gotta Lincoln ls that i picked up for $400, it apparently needs a new head but, we ran head sealer through it and it seemed to work. Everything was working and my brother took it for a test drive and the water pump went out. It also needs a fuel pump. I was wondering if it would be worth fixing it up
I find this vid funny because I have a red 05 LS and a black 08 GT. LS bone stock GT cold air, throttle body, chip, and pro cat back exhaust. A lot of peeps don't realize that the LS 3.9 is a Jag engine I think frame and tranny too. I'll get my bro or wife to run them at the 1:4 not far from here

The Lincoln also weighs a lot more than the mustang and likely has a higher rear end gear than the mustang so, the 4 cam 32 valve 3.9 V8 seems to be doing a better job than the 4.6
My Lincoln ls runs pretty dam good 63000 original miles, did the electric fans replacement ( derail ) by summit and the aluminum degas tank, but off the line on up to 5th gear she is a beast
