USA School Supplies FAQs (Please read this before you go down below to say anything): 1. Yes, the schools in the USA really do ask parents to buy things. 2. Yeah, wow, that’s crazy. 3. No, we don’t like it, either, but that’s life. 4. A great deal of the money allocated to “education” in the USA never makes it to the teachers, students, and schools for basic supplies. That is not a subject for this channel. We’re here to relax, not debate stuff. You can do that elsewhere. Anyone doing it here will be banned, and your comment will be deleted. I hate to be so harsh, but this is a real problem every year, and I mean to put a stop to it. 5. No matter what country you live in, you have to pay for dumb things, too. 6. No, parents are not punished if they either can’t or won't bring in these supplies. No consequences await those who don’t contribute. However, the teachers and other school staff members often pay for supplies out of their own pocket when no one provides them, and that can cost hundreds/thousands of dollars a year. Hopefully, by donating these things, we can help prevent at least a little bit of that. 7. No, nobody cares to hear how awesome your country is. This is not a contest. No matter where you live in the world, you'll find people who are struggling. Maybe you can take that all-caps energy and help someone in your area. A little kindness goes a long way. 8. The Ziploc bags are used for a variety of things in the classroom. It may seem like a strange request, but they come in handy to store little bits of stuff, fragile projects, and dirty clothes, among other things. 9. I will continue to do these back-to-school shopping trips to help out my community every year, as long as I am financially able to do so. In a perfect world, it wouldn’t be necessary to buy any of these things, but we don’t live in a perfect world. I want to help as many people as I can, for as long as I can. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s relax and enjoy some school supplies. 😊
I think it is sosososo lovely that you donate supplies like this! Especially at a time like this where so many people, especially parents are struggling, and when it’s even harder for teachers to use their own money to fill in the gaps. An absolutely beautiful thing to do! You are helping make teachers’ lives easier and you are helping ensure a bunch of kids are able to have what they need to get their educations when they may have not had the materials otherwise 💞💞💞

I notice a trend of people (*cough cough* Western europeans) smugly pointing out the fact that their country has better things compared to the U.S. Like, the vast majority of U.S.Americans (except for a few delusional, extreme, patriots) 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸 that a lot of things in our country are poorly designed & nonsensical compared to Western European countries. Like, gee, thanks for rubbing it in that you have the privilege of free healthcare.
I didn’t know that in other parts of the world the schools supplied the materials! In Portugal parents are also given a list with the supplies they have to buy (pens, pencils, erasers, etc). Only nursery and pre-k children (2-5yo) are not required to buy their own materials. I honestly thought that was the same everywhere😅
as an elementary school teacher, it truly warms my heart to see you going out of your way and spending your own hard-earned money to help your local schools even when you no longer have kids who go there. not all heroes wear capes - thank you, Mary!!!

8:03 OMG YES!! I AGREE!!!! I’ve been on several rants about how Ticonderoga’s are genuinely some of the best pencils. I prefer wooden pencils over mechanical and they just write well, they’re smooth, they last, they sharpen well, good eraser… 10/10 pencil lol!

Ticonderoga is the greatest, has always been. 🙌🏻 I also used those big pencils all the way through high school because the “normal size” ones would sometimes cause my hand to cramp if I was writing a lot.
The S Gel pens are wonderful! I am left handed and the problem I find with a lot of pens is that when I write my hand smears the ink. The S Gel pens don’t do that, and they don’t bleed through the paper which is also wonderful!

This kind of shopping videos really relax me but I would also like to tell you something. I am from Chile, and the truth is that in my years as a student I was always struck by the list of school supplies that they asked for every year, I always found that it was something exaggerated until I became an adult and I realized that the government aid was not enough for anything, and now I am even more surprised that it is something common in other countries, I feel sorry for our teachers that if it were not for these lists of school supplies it would be very difficult for them to do their job.

hey I just want to say it is supper cool that you do this and I love these videos I also would like to help out like this when I am older ( I am 18 and plan to become a teacher) and financially able too. however in Canada at least in the areas I have lived schools do not ask parents to buy supplies for all children they just give you a supply list of recommended stuff for whatever grade your child is in at the time. so yeah you just have to buy for your child/children.
