Hey there. I don’t know much about abadononed houses and whatnot so please forgive my ignorance. Please be careful when going into abandoned places because they could have asbestos and nobody wants lung cancer.
Lol no ìts not hers she got passed on some land which has some amazing houses on a little village in fact. I think it was her uncles or something I can't remember but now she's got it she's been slowly sorting it out. ❤
I love how she's trying to explain why she wants to clean and organize a house that's just going to be demolished and we're just over here like, dude, we come here to watch you organize nail polish and shelves in stores where you don't even work. No need to explain why you do what you do, we're totally here for it!
These situations always make me curious as to the reason they had to leave things behind. People's stories fascinate me and I wonder if they had to leave in a hurry and why. Thanks Mary, loved this
When my Grandma bought her land there was a house there. She said it was like the people who lived there vanished into thin air. Not only was all of their stuff still there, but there were plates on the table and you could even see the moldy food like they were Thanos snapped in the middle of dinner. It’s a family mystery who those people were and what happened to them. I’m so curious about this house too, especially considering the place was trashed
Happened to me. Bought a condo and did renovations and all. Barely lived there 3 months. Then things in my life changed suddenly and had to move to another country. Took only my clothes. Everything stayed in that old place. When I realised I will never move back there, I had an agent with the help of a lovely old lady who was my neighbour handle selling the place as is.
My mom and her husband (step dad) abandoned our childhood home. B of A had a backlog of thousands of mortgages because of various shady mortgage practices so they took advantage of that. I stayed behind in the house for a while. It sat for about 5 years, I took care of this beautiful house the best I could. All my memories from middle and high school were in that home, so many milestones, Christmases etc. It was my home. In 2017 I moved to NYC and would come back every few months to stay in and check on the house. My family left a lot of their stuff in the house. Furniture, mementos, pictures. In December just before I came back for Christmas, my dad who was also keeping an eye on the place called me and told me the bank finally came. They changed the locks and put keep out notices on the doors and windows. And that was that. Never set foot in there again.
There’s something comforting about watching her clean, organize, and put so much care into a place that’s going to be torn down. Like a house that no one has given any love to for a long time and she just wants to send it out with love
That is such a human thing. To want a home that doesn’t belong to you but that you have grown to love to go out in a more beautiful state. I love that.
It’s heart breaking. As a kid I remember the bank taking my childhood house and we had to leave so much stuff behind. We had to leave really fast and didn’t have the time or resources to bring everything with. Most times when things are left behind like this, it was a tragedy to the family that lived there.
So relieved i’m not the only one thinking this. This whole thing just made me so sad.. these are someone’s memories, a whole life. All the kid stuff , the drawing hit me hard!
I think you're a lot like me, I'm super intrigued by abandoned homes/buildings. I am also super nosy so you showing all the papers is SUPER interesting to me! It's the perfect blend of relaxing and interesting! Thank you, Mary!
"I know it seems kinda silly, to tidy up a house that's being torn down" I immediately thought of your optimistic nail polish organizing at Walmart! Talk about tidying with no hope of a future😂 This is totally on-brand for you and I LOVE it. I particularly like the idea of giving importance and dignity to a thing that was once a celebrated home. People are so quick to tear down "old" things with no recognition... it's nice to see someone commemorate a beautiful home.
I haven’t even watched it and I had to comment. I’m SO excited to watch this tonight when I’m cozy in bed. Always something to look forward to. Thank you for what you do, Mary. I don’t interact much on RUclips but I’m an avid viewer and so grateful you are here.
You are so sweet to organize those things! I'm curious about how the house was left with all of that. I hope the owner was ok, as it makes me sad to think of what could have happened.
Thank you, Mary. When you originally walked through this house, I wanted to stack the papers, gather toys into a box etc while you toured each room. When you announced you had a video where you did just that, it felt like my birthday. And, the way you describe the anxiety of going somewhere new and all that is so me. I get to appointments 60-90 minutes early. I google the parking, the roads, the weather, etc. Forget sleeping the night before. I have to know every detail before I even get in the car. Tiresome, but I am prepared. 🥰
A marvellous video and insight into the professional life of a dedicated teacher. It is sad to see all the things that have been collected or created for the benefit of the education of young people now scattered and abandoned. I do admire the care and respect you gave these treasure.
It makes me wonder what could’ve happened to this family. Leaving so many personal belongings behind is so sad. Thank you for giving this family one last look at their home before it’s ruined❤ I hope they see this
When I watched the tour of the house that you did, I was filled with the urge to go to this place and organize things! So glad that you went back to do just that! I hate the idea of them just bulldozing the place without removing any usable stuff from inside.
I love , love love your videos, your attitude (you don't let people get to you) and your voice is so soothing and relaxing. You are by far my very favorite on ASMR. My favorites are all of your organization videos, whether it be in stores or abandoned homes. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work. 😊
Thank you Mary I loved this video. What a gorgeous house. So sad it’s being torn down. Thank you for all your hard work Mary I really appreciate all that you do. You help me to relax so much. I am sadly juggling multiple illnesses & your videos really help me get through. I have watched you since you started. You are incredible how you find the time to do all these videos with working full time, having two lovely sons & a house to keep. Many thanks Mary. Take care. Love from me over in the uk. xx💕💕xx

So sad they’re going to demolish such an amazing house! I love it too! It looks like my dream house too! You have no idea how much I’ve kept on thinking about it ever since I saw the video of you making a tour of it. A teacher owning such a beauty? Good gracious, I never knew a teacher could be so rich as to afford such a huge property. I guess I’ll keep on dreaming of it and go back to the tour video all the time :)
The sounds from the fuller sweeper thing at the end was heavenly! Omg pls do more of those! All that teacher/student school supply stuff must have been from the 90s because omg the nostalgia i got was real. It made me think about my kindergarten snd 1st grade days. Overall, thats a lovely house and it is so sad that it is abandoned. 😞

Very interesting, like a time capsule. But since I'm several decades old, I recognize various items. I agree with you that markers and other items were better made in the past. I made up my own story about the family/owners, they died out, only one lonely, elderly lady left. She couldn't live there by herself anymore and couldn't take all the belongings to the assisted living home.
Tbh this house might have been messy with lots of bits on the floor to be sweeper up but it’s surprisingly clean - like the baseboards and things that collect dirt and dust quickly seem surprisingly white and clean. It’s a shame.
Its sad they didn't clean up. 😢 Some of that stuff could have been donated to schools and preschools for scratch paper, flash cards and sticker fun. Great video idea, Mary.😊
Ahhhhh, best video. Thank you! Also, I went to Guilford County/Greensboro Public Schools in the 80s and swear I recognize some of those stickers and little books.
This makes me so sad, it was someone’s home someone’s life was once that house and hearing it’s getting demolished is devastating especially it being a very nice house it just felt right seeing it clean thank you for doing that 🤍 if only they would just fix it up ❤️🩹
Mary is there any way you could do a longer clip/video of you using the sweeper on carpet again? I rewatched that clip over like 5 times and couldn’t find many other videos of people using one for asmr 😭😭😭 it’s sooo good

Mary is there any way you could do a longer clip/video of you using the sweeper on carpet again? I rewatched that clip over like 5 times and couldn’t find many other videos of people using one for asmr 😭😭😭 it’s sooo good
Agreed/ I keep rewatching the section with the sweeper.
Great idea! This is very relaxing!
anything abandoned is great content
