I'm glad you did the review of the flock chips. I've been curious about them, but it's such a small amount in each bag. The butcher I go to is happy to save the chicken the skin is for me from the chicken breasts, and I get them for free! I just need to call in the morning to let him know I want them, and then they save them for me. I either roast them in the oven at a high temperature, or make them in the microwave. They are delicious, and... FREE! I use different bottled seasonings, and they are delicious.
I will admit it's much easier and more convenient to buy a pre-made product, but I think I'll still stick with preparing my own.

Thanks for the review guys! The soybean oil makes this a no for me as well, but in my kind I also don’t see the benefit over pork rinds. I guess if you don’t eat pork it could be a good chip alternative, but I love me some magical animal so I’m going to stick with my chicharrones. I hope all is well with the SK clan. Be well my friend 🙏

I happen to have a grill press pan that works great for making chicken skin chips. I’ve tried a bunch of different seasonings and they all taste great. I lay the skins out on the cold pan, season, put the press on top and turn on medium until they get going then turn to low and let them cook off some of the fat and become crispy. Soooo tasty! Thanks for the review!

This video inspired me to try different seasoning on plain pork rinds. The store-bought (Aldi) BBQ flavor is pretty awesome. I wrote Aldi and they fry their rinds in the rendered pork fat. I wonder if misting the rinds with vinegar and then salting would work, too (and help the salt stick).

@@SeriousKeto Ooh. Lots of fails before something worked. Just pouring on a seasoning worked a bit if the piece was concave, but still not so great. Spraying with vinegar and adding salt was okay. But I'm sure the dry salt & vinegar seasonings you can buy have all the flavors amped up compared to the real thing. But spraying pieces with olive oil was the real deal. Cajun, Tony Chachere, and Flavacol seasonings were pretty tasty. I used a big mixing bowl that I use for popcorn and I could see the same seasoning technique for that working with the large batches of rinds: spray, (wrist flip) mix, spray, mix, season, mix, season, eat. Just like seasoning popcorn there was an easy line to cross of having too much seasoning. Go lightly. I have a whole cabinet of seasonings that I want to experiment with. Anyone who else tries something new or variations, please post!

I have gotten the original and the bbq in the past and I did really like the original. I wasn't super crazy about bbq, but I never really liked bbq potato chips either. I don't think I found the chips too oily. I had sort of forgotten about them and just placed an order with your code and also got the honey sriracha. That sounds fabulous. I also got bacon jerky. How bad could that be, right?

As a diabetic, sugar, honey and dextrin are no-go's. Also, the soy bean oil. In fact, there are a lot of products that could be keto, but they ruin them with soy products and 'natural flavors' which are actually just derivations from nature and always add carbs. I enjoyed your review and I was tempted to buy them before your review. BUT no soybean oil for me either. I am very limited buying keto snacks like this between BAD oil and BAD sweetners. I know they are cheap and that is why it is in all our food. I just have to make them myself or do without.

I love these but that soybean oil is the killer. Most aren’t that tiny, I agree that bag seems to have gotten crushed in shipping. I just don’t eat soy, and I’ve provided that feedback. Maybe since you and so many of the comments had the same reaction they’ll hear us now. The barbecue flavor is also super mild.

A friend bought me a couple of bags of the original, and I ate them only because I had them. I like chicken skin, but they were broken up and oily. And yes, too expensive. The soy oil turned me right off. I also do not like the 1 gram carb in the other flavors.

@@Carol32547 ok. The verdict is in! Don't waste your money! They are definitely a step up from the original flock just because they have a spicy flavor. The gross old stale grease tastes is still saturating them. They're gross. Maybe if I heat them up in the air fryer I can get some of the oil out? Idk worth a try. Lol.

Chicken skin tastes better than pork rinds. I save the skin from rotissiere chicken and fry them or bake them when I have a bunch. I also love crispy fish skin.

I use to eat these until I discovered Chickin Skin. Their “chips “ are way bigger and less greasy mouth feel and although they also have a small amount of Maltodextrin I don’t mind. They have more flavors to choose from as well. I also noticed Flock goes rancid tasting if u don’t eat them fast enough. Yuck

I love the ChickN-Skin brand. Delish, I make nachos w/ them and they awesome. They don't use SB oil at all, just chicken skin & salt. They are big, and have great texture. I was not as big of a fan of the Flock brand. They just cannot touch the ChickN-Skin brand.

40mg less sodium than plain and far superior in flavor. I have tried all flavors available.
