At the moment I think being able to play with instant reverb is my favourite thing about this instrument. You basically can't go wrong with a bit of Valhalla VintageVerb! Added to that, this way I get to stay in my comfort zone, with Cubase running and my headphones on. Perfect.

I’ve been following Amy for a few years now, and this is the first time I think I’ve ever heard her play glissandos in one of her videos. Lol

As a harpist I feel like playing a glissando is often kind of an obvious hackneyed thing - so I try to reserve them for when they're really needed, or when something needs to be really slushy!
There are glissandos in... Zora's Domain and Rey's Theme, and there's loads of glissandos in La Belle Noiseuse. So you can check those out if you like!
@@amyturkharp lol my harp teacher and I just talked the other day about how glissando’s are kinda looked down upon by many harpists due to them being flashy without much effort

If I could project myself anywhere and into anything or anyone ATM, I'd enter that thing on the right there under the palm/cabbage plant and then go curl up in Amy's lap and listen to her play.

It sounds gorgeous!! I'm sorry if this sounds annoying but I do think the EQing could use a little attention around the mid-range... I only know this from recording my guitar, there are some frequencies that sound a bit "quacky" around the middle spectrum that drive me crazy when I record off the pick-up - play around with cutting mid frequencies (around 2.5-4k Hz) and I think you'll get a sweeter more acoustic sound!! Keep up the awesome work

Electroacoustic...I don't see any pick-ups. Are they inside the frame?
They're on the centre strip. It's one pickup for every string and then they're summed down to a stereo out. It's a little harder to spot with the crazy paint job of this harp, but the centre strip is very different to a purely acoustic harp if you look at them side by side.

Amy~ Are you an electric harp? I'm curious what mic youre using and what amp youre using.
I often ask because the sound quality is not good because the sound of pedals or chaeir noise is recorded.

If this is what comes out of the instrument jack on your harp - a great sound! Got a MIDI OUT?
It's been messed about with a bit, but everything is messed about with. No MIDI out but potential there since each string has its own pickup. Something to investigate in the new year!

Is it normal to have to mute the lower strings that often, or is that unique to this harp?
It's normal, but I am also obsessed with damping so I probably do it even more than normal.

Cubase looks after me on that front!
Sounds... Piezo.
It's probably because of all the piezos.
@@amyturkharp Here's the cure: Add a Compressor right after the harp, this will soften the harsh attack. Then add a convolution filter to compensate the frequency response. Then the reverb, then a parametric equalizer.
