    I just about lost it when I saw the juice lid bit, I love those things and use them a lot in builds. I confess I am also a greeblie hoarder too, which kind of bummed my gf out until this Halloween when she decided she wanted to build a Borg costume haha. Now suddenly it’s all useful.

    I remember back in 2011 at a Star Wars celebration, we had a squad and we approached some of the guilds/clans/factions (both rebel and empire side) and asked them if we could start a smuggler only group and we got shot down faster than Solo on a first date. We got laughed at, snarked at, told to leave by the rebels (even some smart ass B-wing pilot cosplay player made a smart ass comment about it. That's when I had to fire back and asked him him if he knew the craft that was the pre-cursor to the X-wing and he didn't. Told him it was the Z-95 Headhunter and I have piloted it in the sim, along with his precious B-wing, so go pound sand. =) ) This is when the Celebration was lacking in some areas. It had the Troopers, Bounty Hunters, all the Rebel pilots, Empire officers, Sith and Jedi. But no Smugglers. It would have been great to see a section modeled after a cantina with a bunch of shady characters just lounging around, conducting "deals". But oh well, we got shot down for our ideas with everyone we approached. I love your channel and I think you would go crazy with my stash. I have so many action figures, you would baby seal club me and steal them all.

    • @TheSmugglersRoom
      @TheSmugglersRoom  4 года назад

      You know I have always wondered why there wasn't a "Smugglers" group like so many other groups. It's a bit shocking that it would get shot down. Seems like a perfectly logical group of Cosplayers. You certainly always see Smugglers at the conventions. Sounds like you also have one heck of a collection! Bravo!

      @@TheSmugglersRoom Yeah, my friends, their wives were all on board for the smuggler cosplay. (she just wanted to be a better version of Mara Jade, minus the saber..and bigger..umm...anyways..) We were stock piling toy blasters from goodwill to start building our own custom blasters. I even bought a metric crap ton of military cold war surplus leather pouches, mag pouches, holsters, stuff you would see in the movies. Then I sent e-mails out to the certain groups that i will not name, since I don't want to look like I am trashing them. I got snarky e-mails back and it killed it for us. Now i'm building a retro computer to make it look like something you would find on the Falcon or an X-wing, using a older APU/mobo combo in one of those old school "rocker gamer" chairs that rest on the floor (plus they are big guy friendly and they allow for thrashing). But i'm mounting a flight stick to it. The System will work through Bluetooth and i'll be making a Rebel pilot helmet with Bluetooth that syncs to the computer. Once that is done, it will be time to boot up X-wing versus Tie Fighter and all the other X-wing games. I still have them all. Plus you can nab them off of steam. Nothing like doing the trench run in a Y-wing! If you ever end up forming a Smuggler guild or want to build the "X-wing chair", let me join!

    I used to work for Douglas Aircraft back in the eighties. We had a salvage yard where the company would get rid of aircraft scrap a veritable treasure trove of greeblies. In fact I recall seeing several pieces that were used on the Empire Strikes Back. Just a suggestion if you can find an aircraft scrapyard you can find great stuff. Also I was at a local car show and guy had taken a seventies small postal service van and repainted the exterior to look like a B-52. He dressed the interior to look like aircraft with decommissioned ejection seats for the driver and passenger. I always thought this idea would be great to do as a Star Wars style vehicle-The mind boggles. Can't wait for the Polaris modification.

    A friend of mine owns a TV repair shop. He has tons of stuff that he has to throw away. Find a mom and pop one near you and go tell him you want his junk and what you will do with it. He might give it for free or charge you $20 for a trunk load of it.

    My greeblie storage and organization drives me crazy! Have you found the cheapest containers that can be found?
    That's my biggest issue, there are SO MANY options for storage containers and bins out there, and most of them aren't cheap! What do you prefer to use? I only recognize the large yellow Stanley type organizers that you've got. I have a couple of those, but they're overflowing, and they're expensive!
    I've pretty much settled on what I use for larger containers, the contico-style crates, with the two flaps on top. (That's what most folks in movies and TV use, Prop Masters and such.)
    But have you found good cheap options for the flatter type organizers?

    • @TheSmugglersRoom
      @TheSmugglersRoom  4 года назад +1

      Sorry for the late reply. I have never been 100% satisfied with my storage, nor the way I store them in the shop. You are right, the bin options are endless. I found the black bins I use at "the container store" several years back, and I liked them because they match, and they stack easily. They no longer sell the version I have, but the following link has similar sizes. If I ever find a better solution I will update you all. Here is the link to bins like mine: www.containerstore.com/s/storage/plastic-bins-baskets/sterilite-black-stacker-totes/12d?productId=11007874

      @@TheSmugglersRoom cool, thanks for that! What I'm really looking for are the type with separators, or individual bins, for the smaller parts. Just haven't found the perfect solution. I've got a bunch, all different kinds, and they're either too shallow, or too expensive! I reckon there's a middle ground, but don't feel like I've found it, yet.
      Anyway, keep up the great work!!
