Saw The All Stars in San Jose 2 years ago. Greg is an absolutely amazing drummer and a joy to watch him play. Now I can also see that he is a complete gentleman, grateful to be where he is and so very gracious to Ringo. Who wouldn’t want a friend like him?
I suppose that instead of learning to play the Long Tall Sally thing left handed, I could move my floor tom to the left side. Or would that be cheating?
Great memories, Gregg! I was always astonished at the tempo of " Twist & Shout " by the Beatles. It is so in the pocket, you have to groove to it! Thanks for all this!
Great drummer, and also a good story teller. Must be amazing to travel and play with a legend like Ringo. You can see and hearthe reverance for Ringo that Greg has. I love hearing these stories. Also I was a bit shocked when he said he was sixty.
Greg is the perfect example of getting hired NOT because of his drumming skills...which are more than enough...but if you are on a bus or 6 week tour, why would you NOT hire Greg...he is a giver, not a taker...he makes everyone around him sweeter, nicer, more generous...that translates to stage and then to audience...rarely hear this in a drum instructional video...be a really nice person (most would have to pause and say, "I practice drums, not being a good person!")
Been watching his videos for a while now and he is one of the nicest people on youtube

at 3:24 i thought that was the Johnny Quest theme I remember as a kid .
Imagine a 7 year old going to see the Beatles then a million years later, playing in the Ringo Starr band. What a great story.

I think that's the best advice anyone can give. When I wanted to impress the girls, I'd put my head down.
Gregg must be one of the most versatile drummers on earth. There is just about nothing he can`t play.
