So I’ve been rewatching 5ds and I honestly love how Yusei and aki interacted and developed. It was such a deep, emotional relationship. Aki was born an anomaly and was treated like a hideous witch. Nobody cared for her or liked her, this caused her to go insane and make her feel as if the world was evil. She felt like a monster and felt unworthy of love. Even when sayer showed her slight compassion, he still emotionally abused her and put her down a dark path. He took advantage of her anger and power. Aki was sad, angry, and alone. She felt the world needed to pay for how it treated her, she felt she needed to be the monster the world thought she was. But then Yusei came, Yusei showed aki there are good people in the world. He showed aki compassion and kindness even at her lowest points. Yusei saw her pain and related to it as well. Yusei was a signer from the satellite and knew the mistreatment she went through in his own way. He took her anger head on and confronted it. Yusei’s kindness allowed aki to open her heart and leave her dark past behind. She left sayer’s organization and embraced her true loving nature that she always had deep down. She grew to like herself and others, especially Yusei. Yusei saved her. Similar to how Yusei saved aki, aki saved Yusei to. Aki never gave up on Yusei and cared for him deeply. She loved Yusei. She always helped Yusei through his internal struggles by betting caring and supporting. Yusei really appreciated this and fell in love with aki. They even express these feelings to eachother. After the end of 5ds they go down separate paths. Aki leaves the city to become a doctor and Yusei stays to be a scientist. Although the anime doesn’t show it, aki does say she intends to see Yusei again and tell him how she really feels in the final episode. The voice actors even say that they feel they get together in the end.
Also the ending theme of the anime literally shows Yusei and Aki tenderly holding each other. It’s painfully obvious the writers wanted them to be a couple.
@@oisinlynch6181 they will never finish dubbing it no matter how hard you ask it. The company(4kids) was caught scamming Japan of its money resulting in nearly $4 million dollars of damages. Why would they trust the US anymore? Its why Japan terminated their YGO license in the first place.

Stardust Dragon's pattern is self sacrifice in an essence of altruism (which is what Yusei does for most part of the series even if it doesn't always work, like it didn't work with Kiryu) and Black Rose is about self sacrifice out of anger, to bring everything down along with itself like Aki who knew what she was doing was self-harming but she was too filled with anger to care.
My god! If she had Rose Flame set and activated, she could've literally dealt HUGE damage that won her duel... Let's see here she just destroyed Turret Warrior, which was 2100 with her Rose Tentacles, which was 2200, so that's... 100 damage. Now, let's see here... Aki's turn... (Turn 1) Normal Summons Ivy Wall in face-up defense position sets two cards (Rose Flame and Cursed Ivy) and ends her turn. Yusei's turn... (Turn 2) Normal Summons Speed Warrior and attacks Ivy Wall. Ivy Wall's effect activates summoning an Ivy Token on Yusei's side of the field. Aki activates Rose Flame inflicting -500 effect damage each time a Plant-Type monster is summoned onto the opponent's side of the field (Yusei's life 4000 - 500 = 3500). Ivy Wall is destroyed. And with that, Yusei ends his turn. Aki's turn... (Turn 3) Aki activates the continuous trap Cursed Ivy special summoning Ivy Wall back from the grave, and with that, she ends her turn. Yusei's turn... (Turn 4) Yusei tributes Speed Warrior for Turret Warrior, it's effect activates, when it is tribute summoned using a Warrior-Type monster as sacrifice it gains attack equal to that tributed Warrior-Type monster's attack (Turret Warrior's Atk: 1200 + 900 = 2100). Turret Warrior attacks Ivy Wall for the second time, Ivy Wall's effect activates again, special summoning a second Ivy Token on Yusei's side of the field, Rose Flame activates dealing another -500 damage to Yusei's life points (Yusei's life 3500 - 500 = 3000). With Ivy Wall destroyed while equipped with Cursed Ivy, it's effect special summons 2 more Ivy Tokens onto Yusei's side of the field, activating Rose Flame again inflicting -500 damage each (500 x 2 = 1000; Yusei's life 3000 - 500 - 500 = 2000). Yusei's field now consists of (Turret Warrior and 4 Ivy Tokens). Yusei ends his turn. Aki's turn... (Turn 5) Aki activates Seed of Deception, special summoning level 2 Dark Verger from her hand. She tributes it for Rose Tentacles and attacks Turret Warrior (2200 - 2100 = 100 damage), (Yusei's life 2000 - 100 = 1900). And just when the fun doesn't end there Rose Tentacles effect kicks in letting it attack a multiple number of times for every face-up Plant-Type monster there is on the opponent's side of the field hitting for -300, plus for every Ivy Token destroyed -300 more for a whopping total of -600 each destroyed. So let's see... (600 x 4 = 2400) holy shit that's a shit ton of damage. With Rose Flame, that's like about what? -4500 damage she could've done to him? To him?
Peridorito The Green Nerd Gasp! Oh yeah, definitely! I had that calculated into the equation before on the side in one of my calculated scenarios. Let's see 2800 x 4 = holy shit! *gasp* -11200? Lmfao, and that's not even counting the initial attack on Turret Warrior -100 lol... And if we factor Rose Flame at the beginning of the duel, that would be... 2000. the first from Speed Warrior -500, the second from Turret Warrior -500, and the other two tokens from Cursed Ivy -1000 total. So that's... -13200! -100 damage from Turret Warrior. That's -13300! *jaws drop* Wow! xD This is what would've happened if Aki had Rose Flame and Thorn of Hatred as her initial field setup.

(Turn 1)
Normal Summons Ivy Wall in face-up defense position sets two cards (Rose Flame and Cursed Ivy) and ends her turn.
Yusei's turn... (Turn 2)
Normal Summons Speed Warrior and attacks Ivy Wall.
(Turn 3)
Aki activates the continuous trap Cursed Ivy special summoning Ivy Wall back from the grave, and with that, she ends her turn.
Yusei's turn... (Turn 4)
Yusei tributes Speed Warrior for Turret Warrior, it's effect activates, when it is tribute summoned using a Warrior-Type monster as sacrifice it gains attack equal to that tributed Warrior-Type monster's attack (Turret Warrior's Atk: 1200 + 900 = 2100).
(Turn 5)
Aki activates Seed of Deception, special summoning level 2 Dark Verger from her hand.
Wish rose flame was a real card
Birds of Prey Wish most of her cards were real cards... but instead we get more garbage bws...
