Real answer on why so much Overwatch: the 3d animation program used for the games is readily accessible, as are the assets from the game. This means that, not only can people get the files for the actual characters, people have access to a 3d animation program that can manipulate those forms. Those aren't fan-made models, they are the actual models that have been "adjusted" using the actual game engine

Damn,I done skipped the first 2 of the Futanari pipeline. I started off on sfm back in I think 2016. My first exposure to Futanari was an SFM of Harley Quinn giving it to Catwoman(it was also the Arkham knight models btw). My 12 year old self had something lit up from that,never felt the exact same sensation but still,it’s become my favorite genre.

the reason these isn't Lol stuff of it is because the ingame models weren't as well made so they could just be stolen from the game and then imported to something like SFM to make the content.

If you aren't seeing that art with both is still the most prevaltent (even with the sudden recent uptick in art with no V), then you aren't looking hard.

On the popularity, it feels like most artists just swap in drawing women with schmeat in situations where a woman wearing fake schmeat would be. It's ficiton after all, why draw fake schmeat when one could just draw 'real' schmeat.
On the n site, I'm surprised it's surpassed sadpanda in the most used for doujins. Sadpanda feels like it has a much better tag search system than n site in my experience.

Not really? There's sort of a dividing line between kemonomimi - who you could also lump in with monster girls and such under the broader category of 'demihumans' - and full-on anthros. I'd say demihumans are more about the exoticism of a human with animal traits, as opposed to the appeal of anthropomorphized animals, which I'm not going to pretend I understand the appeal of.
In my experience, people will usually like one or the other, but not both. Personally, I like humanoids and demihumans, but I just think anthros look weird, and I wouldn't describe myself as a furry. Several of my friends are furries, though, and they don't care for demihumans at all - it's all anthros, all the time for them.

Okay Rosie, idk why, but i'm gonna answer your question about why there's so much 3D futa. Don't worry, i keep it as PG as i can.
I, personally, believe it has to do with enjoying the sense that it's something that could actually exist. When they're rendered in 3D with a bunch of extra details, they look like you could reach out and touch them. It appeals to the fantasy by absorbing you further into it. Where if it's just in 2D then there's less immersion and there's more of a disconnect. You can't see the bumbs and finer details the way you can with 3D. Also what you described about stumbling onto ones that weren't good because of the massive size, massive sizes are very popular with futa. Usually, unless it's just poorly done, the bigger the better.

i think the reason it's more common in 3d than 2d is because 3d is easier to make. When you look instead at the high quality 3D, it becomes about as common in 3D as 2D

Well, Futanari means “I’m both” so a male-only G-tool user can’t really be a Futanari.
League isn't as popular because they would have to make 3d models from scratch and hand drawing is more difficult of a skill to learn than making 3d with existing models. There is still a lot of league corn though it is just that Overwatch is like the factory farm of corn.
