Seeing the specs on Tiger's irons makes his iron distances all the more impressive. He obviously can't keep up with the big guns on tour off the tee anymore but all things being equal he's just as long as just about anybody still with his irons.
I must say man, your videos have gotten so much better. I have watched your and Ricks video for a few years now and you both have seriously step up your games. Well done and keep it up!!
I bought myself a split set of mp18 mizunos after managing to break two shafts on my wilson staff c300 irons. I'm probably no where near good enough to be hitting blade, but the feel is absolutely ridiculous when you hit them flush, you dont feel any impact it's weird the ball just takes off. So much better than any "game improvement" iron, they genuinely got me more hooked on the game, so mizuno all the way :) thanks for the videos.
The Tiger irons are mostly traditional lofts, so when you say you're hitting a 9 when you're hitting an 8 I guess that's just the modern industry speaking. Especially when considering that lofts are getting stronger and stronger every year whilst calling it "technology". Anyone can put out a low COG cavity back 7 iron with a 5 iron loft and call it revolutionary.
Loved watching you reveal / unwrap the Mizunos; ohh that feeling. Serious kudos to you and your new team for the quality of the vlog production / editing. It is absolutely spot on, top drawer, the mutt's nuts etc Cheers
Peter, it's great that you are giving the old yardages vs the new and saying what club you would have it. I know that loft is king but of course ego is queen. My MP-32 7i is 35d and my smooth swing is 145y - I know I shouldn't try to get any more from it. So there it is for all to see, I only hit my 7i 145y.
I'm not a great lover of either set of iron but I think the Mizuno irons will really suit your game Pete. You're a highly skilled golfer and the more you play they will reward you with some fantastic shot making and hopefully we will all be rejoicing with you when you qualify for the big one soon! Mizuno is definitely making a stand against all the corporate club companies over here in America! It's funny when u realize how many pros on tour play mizunos yet there bag makes no mention. Those MP-20s are beauts! I currently use Mizuno MP-32 irons, which are similar lofts to the TW irons. The advantage of playing irons with these lofts is that I only need two specialist wedges (52° and 57°), so I can add an extra club at the top of the bag (i.e. a driving iron and a fairway wood). On the down side, my 5-iron only goes 200 yards with a pretty strong tail wind…otherwise, that is my 3-iron.
Pete, you are the man. Your swing is so smooth. That tempo is what I try to get. I will never hit as long as say you and Rich Shiels. But I love that nice easy swing.

I have three sets of Mizuno blades ,love them all. Mp 32 ,Mp 33 x2 . I’m older now,looking for new clubs appropriate for my ancient swing. This really helped😁
Got fit for Mizuno’s this winter and love them! 5 iron is the HMB. 6-PW in the MMC. I also picked up a 2iron in the HMB that I will switch out with a 5 wood depending on the conditions. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!
I like how you are driving the point home lately that the number on the top of the club doesn't mean much anymore. I have my clubs 4* apart from 22* down to 46*, which I thought was even a little strong but this now seems like it's 2* weaker for the standard lofts on mizuno sets.
I bought MP-18 MMCs on an incredible deal... barely even hit them before buying (totally uncharacteristic for me)... but they just look & feel soooo goood. Now I'm going to get fit into them.

Loved this video and thought Peter covered every aspect of irons from looks, feel, loft and custom fitting. Traditionally Mizuno are a company that specialises in irons. Would be interested how another more traditional set of irons like Titleist would compare to the Mizunos.
Never thought I’d see or hit another iron that looked or felt as good as my MP20s but I got to say my mate got some tiger irons today and my god they look and feel amazing. If I had the money I would buy them in a heart beat. The 4 iron is a little bit scary though 😱🤣
Hopefully by the looks of how accurate, and relatively forgiving, the less than ideal strikes seem to go off the Mizuno irons you should be really confident going into open qualifying this year.

Peter Tiger has always played mp14's no matter who makes them mizuno Nike or Taylor made. Look them up the 14's look amazingly like the new TM's. No knock on Tiger he knows what he likes...
Just got fitted for the first time ever of 16 years playing, jpx 921 (of course I'm standard everything 🤦♂️) they feel awesome and added about 15yds to my lengths (welcomed). Nothing feels like a mizuno I guess!
That combo mp-20 set looks like an ideal set for me. I will plan on attaining these in 4 years when when the price comes down on a used set. By the way, Pete, you look like a gitty kid with a new toy. As far a Tigeresque set goes... I have a set of near mint MP-14s. 👍

How could you not like it? lol I think that you made a very crucial point: it’s not the number on the bottom that’s important. It’s the actual loft of the club that is. Too many times I’ve had friends that would get new irons and talk about how much longer they are than the old set without knowing the lofts of either set. Most likely, the new irons were stronger lofted. Great thought inducing video!
The TM Tiger Woods Irons have the exact same loft (except for PW @47 vs 48 ) as my Mizuno MP-29's. I think Tiger prefers the traditional lofts of his old MP-14/MP-29 combo set of his amateur days.
maybe it's me(!) but why is it confusing? You have a set of clubs you find out how far they actually go what the Tiger's did is irrelevant. Whenever I've got a new set I go up to the practice area at my club when it's quiet and hit 20 balls with each club and measure how far they go. What club someone else hits doesn't matter to me it's what I hit that matters.
Since watching RUclipsrs, I never knew what the whole “unwrapping new clubs” thing was about, since I’ve mostly bought used clubs. Then I got my new CBX 2s in the mail ... ooooh, now I get it. 😂
@@konstamattsson Agreed ... and being a lefty, the older clubs I want can be difficult to find. I've scored big in the past finding great used irons. But this time, I decided to pay a little more to get the wedges I wanted. They work great, and I don't plan on changing them out for a long, long, time.
I hit the Titleist 716 CB's... lofts are a good 2-3 degrees light of what my usual playing partners play and it's so annoying when they say they are hitting the same club as me. Def would be a good feeling having irons with stronger lofts for the ole' noggin lol

I had a set of mp 33s custom fit back in 99. Absolutely love the feel and distance control. Very workable as well.

I've had a opportunity to hit the Tiger Iron and boy oh boy it was amazing, I'm a pretty good ball striker and the T Iron is a dream

I switched to that same loft setup a little over a year ago. And it was a lot easier than going to the gym
I think the Hogan Irons now come stamped with the loft rather than the traditional number. Makes much more sense the way lofts are going

I'm a 15 handicap. Just got fit. 919 tours PW-7i. 919 forged 4-6i. my scores have gone down and my ball striking is more consistent
